I own a Suzuki DR 250S and since I didnt find a forum specificated on the bike on the net I created one. Type [ suzukidr250s.123.st ] on your browser (youtube doesnt allow me to put the link. I hope you join so we can exchange opinions about the motorcycle and its maintenance.
i have a 1998 dr250 which is elec start only and sits for quite a while at a time and have found that draining the carby really helps with starting, all it takes on my bike is to undo a bolt on the bottom of the carby with a 5mm allen key
@swaggaholic4 Hey.. You could check online from aftermarket companies.. but I would try a local Suzuki dealer, they should be able to get you the stock part (if its not discontinued), but you most likely will have to pay top dollar for it. I bought my aftermarket FMF pipe from a dealer, and the price was the same online.
@Patrtickgilligan It is heavier than my liquid cooled two stroke 125.. but you get use to it and its not too bad. It makes up for its heavier weight with better low end power.
Hi Tommy, my DR 350 is certainly quick and nippy but watch out if it stalls in difficult terrain when hot - then you can get really knackered getting it started again despite good biker boots and muscles!!
@svenskan007 Thank you!! I would like to put a kick starter in this.. at least for an emergency backup if the battery ever died. You own a DR350? From what I have seen its the same exact bike except for the larger engine. This one is already pretty quick so I imagine that one would be too!
fuel probably went off...can go off in as little as 4 weeks....i have the 350 (big bore 441) kicker and that thing is a pig to start...nearly broke my leg more than once.
yes the compression release is on it....never use it...got a problem with my oil pump at the moment isn't pumping oil into the crank.lucky i spotted it before i took it out for a long run.
That sucks sounds like the pump is worn or maybe a clogged filter? Don't feel bad I've got an old '84 Honda CR-125R that needs some t-l-c to say the least. I haven't desided if I am going to fix or sell. Offroad it is much better than this Suzuki so I guess its worth fixing.

Great video - what a real bastard to start - why don't you get another kickstarter - the DR350's normally hard to kickstart when hot not cold!

Yeah I agree the fuel sucks these days. Id immagine kicking 441cc's over would suck after awile. Does it have compression release? I would think so.
