I've watched this game many times and every time little piece of me dies inside...Lithuanian people are not the ones who cry on the court because referees make bad decisions. They cry when they make TERRIAWFUL decisions. Never seen Sabonis cry? not a problem - EuroBasket 95' is the way to go. Us and croatians always seem to be the victims of awful refereeing (2005 EuroBasket? oh snap), and we truly respect them for their medal ceremony performance. Oh and you can't make whole country mad...

Even amazing dzordzevic game play didn't help to beat Lithuania in big score... just 6 points what would be if not serbians god acting and that referee? i think it's not hard to say but history is history lithuania have revenged to serbia so meny times now for that day :)

If there was a ref assist here it was nothing compared to last year semifinal in turkey where refs destroyed Serbia and literally gave the game to the Turks that went to the final... Djordjevic scored 41 points in this game... Anyway, I'm proud of this team and this victory and I just don't believe it was all bout the refs... Peace :)

@BadLieutenant101 There weren't any. Lithuania came to the tournament as a heavy favorite. Having missed Eurobasket 1993 (did not qualify!) and WC 1994, they assembled an awesome team, with Marculionis, Sabonis and reactivated Kurtinaitis (35) and Chomicius (35). Outside of the US team of NBA players, never before and never again have we seen a match of two loaded teams such as Yugoslavia and Lithuania were then.

Fifth foul (and not only) for Sabonis, fouls for other lithuanians were given for very soft contacts, when yugos could afford much more for themselfs, and many technical fouls for lithuanian players because of their anger of such injustice and of course many easy points for yugos from free throw line. These mistakes were made by the referee from NBA (who, by the way, was caught by taking bribe in USA). The other referee of that final accepted that his collegue made some significant mistakes

By the way, contrary to the popular belief and the representation in this video, Danilovic didn't look at Sabonis and cursed or something like that after the dunk. In an interview he said 'camera is miraculous, it made it seem as if i had said something to Sabonis, but I was upset with the ref under the basket who didn't see the foul'

As a Serb, I always respected the Lithuanians - even learned about this small and proud nation when I wondered as a kid who were all these great non-Russian players winning gold for the USSR. Sabas and Šarunas - amazing! I understand Lithuanians' desire to have won the gold with their greatest generation. BUT even if one could say the refs leaned towards Serbia, which I disagree with, you gotta keep playing and overcome that. They lacked tenacity, concentration and a madman Đorđević.

Without support from refs this could be an epic game for coming generations to learn.. I think Yug's relaxed a little bit to ealry feeling the support, that caused Lithuania to catch up. In other words I believe if not refs we could have had overtime, and more amazing basketball

If they were serious about it, they would have left the court. It was just a psychological game, albeit unsportsmanlike. Yugos remained calm and unfazed, though.
