It's quite simple: Martin Luther King was killed by a single fanatical racist, who was immediately caught, confessed his crime at once, and spent the rest of this life in jail. If anybody had payed him for killing King, he would have definitely told everything, because this way he would have gotten a milder sentence. I doubt somebody told him "Don't say anything and, as a prize, you will get life imprisonment".

I agree that Obama's older black supporters are more driven by Obama's race than the younger. That's not to say that it's their only motivation, but race is more of a factor to that generation. It's quite simple: Martin Luther King was killed by a single fanatical racist, who was immediately caught, confessed his crime at once, and spent the rest of this life in jail. If anybody had payed him for killing King, he would have definitely told everything, because this way he would have gotten a milder sentence. I doubt somebody told him "Don't say anything and, as a prize, you will get life imprisonment".

I would rule out Lyndon Johnson having something to do with MLK's death. He was a known King hater because he feared that King's civil rights movement would thwart his vietnam war effort. Not only was LBJ a fierce king hater, but J edgar hoover was also. I don't think any single person is liable for the assassination. I think it was closelyheld cabal that involved the CIA, The executive branch, the military, and even some blacks. Assassinations are more complex than what people think.
