I used to watch "spiderman" on FOX and like one of the last or the very last episodes he is revealed to be a "character of fiction". It's been a while but I believe he even met a cartoon version of stan lee. Really cool episode. Oh and um...arrow to the knee.
What this video is referring to is "Breaking the Fourth Wall", which is when a character of a book/comic/television show/movie are aware that they are in a fictional universe and sometimes directly address this. Many entertainment figures do this and is not grounds for cancellation.
the original ninja turtles cartoon was constantly admitting they were just cartoon characters. From them naming specific episodes to comenting on the music numbers to critizing the opening theme etc. And they didn't get cancelled any of those hundred times. The angery beavers just didn't get renewed, sad truth was it probably wasn't making enough money. But I'd rather see a show go while its still fresh instead of being dried to the bone before they let it die. But that could be me...

Honestly I kind of understand why they would not air an episode like that. I think that's a nice display of common decency on Nickelodeon's part. The fact that they'd have a rule like that to preserve the sense of whimsy that there is about growing up watching cartoons from a young age and not realizing that they aren't real, shows that they do care about the children who are their viewers.
Ren and Stimpy broke the fourth wall all the time at the end of their show at some point and in certain episodes. I doubt the Angry Beavers were cancelled for doing the same.

Guys, I know the newer shows suck, but that's our opinion. We are use to slapstick humor of animals beating each other up and many other random events of characters hurting each other. It was hilarious, and yes the kids will never be able to experience it.
You have to accept comedy has shifted, it's time for the second generation to experience their own style of comedy. We at least got to experience ours and at least can grow up knowing that we did.

Man. This was the good stuff. Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, and Rugrats! Heck I even like Spongebob (the older episodes) All of those cartoons were awesome. Now they have this Big Time Rush and True Jackson crap all over Nickeloden. It's a shame all of these shows were canceled. They were pretty much my childhood.

that's not exactly how it happened: the episode bye bye beavers didn't air because nickelodeon already had cancelled the show and they don't allow their shows to have a big finale episode (that's what bye bye beaver was). They don't allow the shows to have an ending episode so they can rerun it.The show got cancelled first, then the episode was dismissed

Actually, I talked to Richard Horvits yesturday, and it got cancelled due to low rateings, That was just an episode they were gonna make, but they cut them short and said "no more episodes" So they didnt get the time to animate it.

I miss The Angry Beavers, Invader Zim, Rocko's Modern Life ect. so f*cking much. I just started watching The Angry Beavers again like 5 minutes ago (It was my favorite show when I was little) and I instantly remembered how much I loved it. Nickelodeon shows today SUCK! Shows like Fanboy and Chum-Chum, iCarly, and new Spongebob should be the canceled shows, Not the actual good cartoons, But I guess it's too late now.
