Agreed. The CHL (not the one we know today) the Colored Hockey League was comprised of runaway slaves' sons and grandsons in Canada. And being that they couldn't play in the south, a league was formed in the north in Long Island called the NHL (Negro Hockey League) 30 YEARS before there was the NHL we know today called the National Hockey League.
Black didn't just start playing hockey. Sons and grandsons of runaway American slaves started playing hockey in nova scotia. Black players are getting more of an opportunity to show their talents. There are way more players of color that most people know. The NHL just won't show them. Do your research!
