  • @boltroth I used Szechuan marinade in replacement. I got mine at stater bros in the Asian food aisle.

  • It was really good but my sauce didn't really thicken. =\ other than that, perfection! :) I made mine with pasta instead of rice..yum!

  • @bossin88

Wonderful that you made this with things you could find.

That is what cooking is all about, thanks!

  • What is Szechuan peper and where can i get it and if i cant any thing else i can use? thanks

  • @boltroth

You can get it from a well stocked Asian Store of from the Internet like Amazon.

You can use regular pepper if you are not willing to do that.

  • Looks delicious! I will try this out. Just wonder if I can use olive oil instead of sesame oil?

  • @Dimanta

If you do not like sesame oil, leave it out and do not substitute anything.

    Thank you for your question!

  • @freitasex I do not know how sesame oil taste and I do not mind. But just was curious if I can use the oil I already have at home :) Thanks for reply.

  • just made this dish tonight. I like it. It's definitely a keeper.

    Sure, of course!

  • I guess Gordon Ramsey could not cook this either.

BUT I am not comparing myself to him, I am just a home cook.

  • ...White man cooking Chinese food?...come on now.

  • @emeraldFloyd

I am certainly no Gordon Ramsey, but do you think he could cook this?

  • Where do you get Sichuan peppercorn?

  • @brok3nback

I bought them at my local Asian Market.

They were not labeled as Szechuan, but examining them they definitely were and the woman at the store said they were, I was not sure if she was correct at that moment, but she was!

  • Absolutely delicious! Nice video!

  • @punkrevo

    Thanks very much!

  • Looks fabulous. I want a taste! I will make this dish, even if I have to use chicken (which is what I have now). I'm sure it will be yummy! Thanks for this vid!

  • @gcarped

Thanks and I am sure that using chicken would be fine.

If you want to buy some shrimp, I would as soon as possible because I suspect prices will go up because of the oil spill in the gulf by Louisiana/Mississippi area.

  • G'day from Australia!!. Love your channel. Have you ever tried that dish with chicken? I had Szechuan chicken at a resturant and it was the nicest thing I have ever eaten. Just can't seem to find a recipe for it.

  • @rainbirdvalley

I will try to come up with that for you, it may take a while.

    Thanks!

  • I like the contents/or the texture of the sauce but unfortunately I am not a great fan of sea food!!! Can I use it for chicken?? Thanks Freitasex, you are doing great job.

  • looks absolutely gorgeous and tasty with all greens, yellows and reds and greens again! I'm pretty sure your list of requests might be a little long :) but I like to submit a request - Jamaican Jerk Chicken ( with habanero of course :)) . How about that ?

  • I love your request!

    LOve it!

I do not have a BBQ grill, and I think that is essential.

I will think of ideas to make this indoors!

    Thanks

  • You could use your grilling plate from this video: watch?v=0QcjVvqJ1p0 (portobello mushrooms). :)

  • I wish i had your talents seriously, here is a low down.

Jordan - I'm hungry i'll make food. and i end up with like brunt bread.

Michael- I'm hungry, i'm gonna make jordan jealous and make a huge feast.

Ends up with a huge feast of loveliness and puts it on youtube and eat it in front of me Aside from that, this dish looked pretty great, i personally love shrimp, and once you michaelize it, it is even better :P

Yes, michaelize it, is the new in word.

  • OK, with that comment you are my favorite subscriber!

    OMG thanks!

  • Now that, sir, looks delicious.

  • Thanks and if you like spicy, you will like this!

  • I love spicy. My stomach doesn't seem to agree. Red pepper flakes, in particular, seem to mess me up :-/.

  • You can leave the red pepper flakes out.

Only add the szechuan pepper corns or regular pepper corns, and it will taste great!

  • great dish really great an easy your a great cook 5 star

  • Thank you Perr, you always make me smile!

  • wow looks delicous i love shrimp:D

    Thanks!

  • I have also wanted to tell you this:

If you want to poach eggs, you can put each egg into a small glass bowl that is buttered, and then into the water.

It is a bit easier to make them that way.

    ~Michael
