actualy, most sith masters trained their apretinces to hate or fear someone else, very few actualy trained their apretices to hate them, examples are darth vader and his aprentices luke and tao. he trained them to hate him. but for the most part sith masters trained their apprentices to hate someone else.

Palpatine trained Maul to hate him that was his final test, he was the only one who trained since a child and in a formal Sith way so based on that we can assume Plagueis trained him that way too, also Plagueis the dude could CREATE life he could creat midiclorian cells, midiclorians define the power of the Jedi and Sith, had Plagueis gone further with that power he could put himself infinite midiclorians, read the novels, books and databases
