To those of you who refer to hard times under the thatcher government, have some level of intelligence to ask why. It is because Labour ran up massive debts as usual by spending too much and buying your votes. The thatcher government had to cut and save money in order to get public finances in order after terrible mismanagement from labour.

Labour don't understand how to balance books, or run the country sensibly. They just draw their votes from the naive or the class warriors.

HEY does anybody remember the last conservative government that had 4 million on the dole and inflation at 9pct and sold off loads of council houses and didn't build any to replace them ,and paid nurses and the armed forces £9000 a year and got rid of the regulation of the banks and didn't build any new schools or hospitals and employed 30,000 less doctors and nurses and 8,000 less police and who encouraged the city of London to risk all for short term gain,do you remember ! cos i do

Yep! I remember getting my uni grant cut so I couldn't go, people getting beaten half to death in the west country because they lived in a bus, the beggars on the tube stations, miners having their lives destroyed, US nuclear weapons on Greenham Common, More tea Mr Pinochet? I come from a family of teachers and under Thatcher we were so derided and our pay and conditions so eroded that education barely survived as a profession. One does not live under the Tories, one exists!

HEY does anybody remember how the conservatives sent a task force to the Falklands with out enough air cover or helicopter transport and how they had to borrow air to air missiles off the USA and how they didn't have sea wolf missiles to stop the Exocet's but only had the out dated sea dart missiles ,and guess what more British soldiers died in three weeks than have died in 9 years in Afghanistan,that's how well the conservatives look after the armed forces.

I'm glad to see that at least the Tories have backed off the silly Inheritance Tax gift to their rich friends. I wonder if they will still go ahead with lifting the ban on hunting with dogs.
