@Gootch82 the ping is fine. if you seriously think that 0.04 seconds is going to affect your gameplay you need to realize how little time that is. more thank likely your just a bad gamer.
seems awesome for wat i need but my question is "how many megabytes or watever can u use per day" cuz basically my internet lets me use 200 per day and if i dont pass the limit my internet works at a speed of .45 mpbs but if i do its really really slow so how does this one work?
@PX917 AT&T has a 250GB/month download cap. they do not slow down the service if you go over but if you go over you will be charged a fee per GB. I do not have AT&T anymore so I do not know what the fee is. I left AT&T because of the new data caps.
@c0wz so say i played online xbox like everyday for a couple of hours and wasted lik 400mg on computer surfing like 4 out 7 seven days do u think i would pass the limit?
are you able to stream videos without buffering from YouTube during pick hours like during the weekends? and how bout HDvideos from YouTube? I have U-verse Express and my speed reads 0.16 download 0.24 upload. It should be up 1.54 but not getting what Im paying for.. I am planning to upgrade to MaxTurbo or Verizon FiOSbecause I currently have problems watching videos but Im trying to find out if is it worth it ... Thank you and happy holidays from L.A.
@telectronicguy I have Max Turbo at Miami Beach and let me tell you that i have not to wait ANY STREAMING BAR. NEVER AGAIN SINCE I HAVE IT! IS SIMPLE AWESOME! I always have between 22.50MB-23.89MB Down and 2.55MB - 2.95MB Up! :D
@telectronicguy from what uverse claims itself, to stream right way or watch live tv etc u need the packages higher then max, if u just want fast speed to play online mmo's then its great
Seems to me that the key points are "how much does it cost" and "how reliable is it"? My uverse is 2.95 down and .95mb up for $35 per month. The connection is rock solid day in and day out (don't worry about "peak periods" as with cable). I don't know of anything else that fast for that price, although for a few dollars more you get a lot more bandwidth.
@jscottupton There is no slow down with cable I have the 16mbps from comcast and get 24 mbps every night no problem. Here in South Florida there is no one that that can beat Comcast internet. Comcast 105mbps is here!!!!!!!
@c0wz Only on their very highest plan. The majority of their plans remain 1.5Mbps up. With my non AT&T ADSL2+ I will actually soon be able to set my own up speed (it takes from the down speed) on the fly. This is called Annex M technology.
@phototristan Uverse offers Internet which is 18Mb Downstream, 3Mb Upstream (assuming you're close enough to the local DSLAM, i've seen accounts 2500 feet from the dslam attaining 32,800 mb down potential
@MrJcabreramia incorrect, it's fiber optics to the node (the green box in your neighborhood) and they can run copper UP TO 3000 feet from that box. after 3000 feet, you're SOL until ATT drops a new fiber line to a new DSLAM nearer to your residence
@Forza2CreditsKing Cable is also Fiber! Insome cases the big brown/green box in your back yard is a small fiberoptic node that goes to coax and branches off to 5-10 houses.
@Forza2CreditsKing They are fiber optic, but the retarded thing is that the fiber optics only run out to the main street, unlike this and Verizon's FiOS, which run the fiber optics right up to your door. The other guys just might as well have all of it traditional wire.
@Forza2CreditsKing Hardly any of the Uverse customers are on fiber optic. They stopped rolling out fiber a long time ago once they figured out their latest algorithm to get the most out of copperwire lines. I know because I have Uverse, internet is fast and reliable, BUT NOT on fiber :(
technically it's just DSL but it's faster than normal DSL because it takes a shorter trip to the nearest network terminal, AT&T saved money by taking the fiber to a mile within your house and from there I believe they used their old lines (copper) to send the signal the rest of the way.
@c0wz ATT u-verse does offer fiber optic internet, FTTP (Fiber to the Prem) and an IPDSLAM (IP Digital Subscriber Line Area Multiplex) inside the home, similar to the 3800HGV-B RG on regular FTTN internet accounts.
i pay like 20 dollars for supposly internet that can download up to 750kb/s or something like that i and i download about 50-80kb/s and my computer was refurbished or something ike that to make it like new and it still downloads the same freaken slow!
yes and i got a newer modem and some programs that suppossed to speed up my interenet and it makes it download really fast the first few seconds of the download up to 1.15mbps and then goes down to about 150kb/s-180kb/s
umm... your not supposed to plug it into the dial up cable, tht gives you dial up speed. You need to plug the modem into the wall and plug your computer into the modem. dont use the dial up plug

No way can u verse compare to Comcast speeds i get 50 megs down with DOCIS 3.0 they say there going to launch 100 megs down soon. Sorry At&t still behind the game your fastest speed is Comcast Slowest...Also tell your customers that you can only watch one HD channel in the house at one time..
true docsis 3.0 speeds are far faster than u-verse is currently. but you have to remember that docsis 3.0 does not have as large of a footprint as u-verse does. i've thought about switching to comcast, but the damn price is just too much.

@c0wz - LoL! Actually, I'm a good gamer. My ping does mess me up at times though.
0.4 secs is a good amount of time though. It's enough to see target and pull trigger.
35 ms is good, but it isn't good enough. My friends are getting 5 - 15 ms pings.
Gootch82 8 months ago
@Gootch82 .4 seconds is 400ms .04 seconds is 40ms. i think you are confused. you are converting it wrong.
there are 1000ms in 1 second. there could be lag on the server as well. are you playing xbox or ps3?
