If it's true that we're going to cross the galactic equator -wich explains polar shifts- this means convection currents in mantle and outer core dynamo will loose momentum and slow down trying to re orient. In term, the electro-magnetic field is greatly reduced and the sun should be cool and calm untill currents regenerate the field and rebuild a conveyer belt.
