  • 4:13 xD saxaphone solo in the middle of a Styx song.. can this song get any better? :D

  • Chuck sort of "lost it" when his brother John died. You can thank "De Young for that..... egomania jerk.

  • @jammie4u What do you mean by that and what is your source? Blaming DeYoung for Chuck losing it? Sounds far-reaching. Most people would "lose it" if their brother died an early death, but John had been drinking a long time...

  • @P1ckUpStyx

Life is my source. What did people like you do before the internet?

  • @jammie4u Your life is the source? Did you travel with the band? LOL I don't think Chuck blames John's death on Dennis; Chuck has publicly stated he'd like a reunion! Hey, the internet has lots of good info - you should try it sometime!

  • styx fuckin rules at what they do.... any one that knows anything about music knows this!

  • Chuck!!!! think chuck was shy?

  • Chuck!!!!

  • Anyone who "critiques" Styx, arguing against the greatest Rock and Roll band in History I just let the facts speak for themself. They are THE ONLY BAND IN THE WORLD to achieve 4 CONSECUTIVE TRIPLE PLATINUM ALBUMS IN A ROW !! --- (The Grand Illusion - Pieces Of Eight - Cornerstone - Paradise Theater ) --- No other band has done this. NOT LAD ZEPPLIND or The Rolled Stoners or even The Beatles have done what DEnnis Tommy and JY has done. Trip Platinum is 3,000,000. 4 trip Platinum is 12 million !!

  • I'm not arguing with your theme (as I love STYX) but....in most people's eyes that stat you mentioned really doesn't stand for much. Just a "flash in the pan" 4 x in a row. Their music will last forever, but when considering "greatest bands" and all those polls and votes they have on the radio...STYX has NEVE been mentioned. Not even in the top 10, whenever I have heard them bring it up. It is indeed very strange. And this was done in Seattle! All the stations there played STYX!

  • @badtolzstandby --- The bottom line of 4 Platinum albums is they sold more records in a short time period than any other band in History. Quite an impressive acomplishment. STYX had a following like no other band and for some reason the MAINSTREAM ROCK media and rolling stone critiques never gave them the credit they deserve. They never were spaced out on heroine, or in rehab i guess so they never were recognized for greatness. Styx will always be one of the greatest in the minds of many.

  • @rajimaji

Don't waste your breath. This guy is probably a Republican....he will twist with the wind......Styx is a great band....

  • "still got the mother nature blues" ....is that a metaphor for having the runs??

  • alright, I've been scouring the internet for months trying to find guitar tabs to this song, can someone PLEASE help me out here?

  • @TheYacoo64 No! But damn its a great track hey!

  • Did they do this live?

I really liked this and 1/2 penny from Paradise Theater.

  • The horn section just makes this song so great, especially the sax solo at the end.

  • oh my goodness !!! silk shirts.... hahahaha made me laugh you know u all had to wear them...

  • Styx is the greatest american band ever, and only caught a bad rap because most critics are cynical a**holes [:

  • What are "Dago Shoes"?

  • Dago is slang for Italian. It could mean Italian made shoes or a type of shoe Italians wear. I'm pretty sure it means Italian made.

  • I grew up listening to Styx and Paradise Theater remains my favorite concept album.

  • styx is by far one of the most underrated bands ever. same with reo speedwagon. love them both

  • @Hoverbomber

    It's okay to include;E.L.O., 10cc & Supertramp, there too. :-)

  • u~n sansui!

  • I do too........I do too!

  • I masturbate to this song!

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!

  • This is a great song, this should've been in the Top 40 like "Babe" and "The Best of Times" was.

  • You already know !!

  • This was one of my all time favorite groups and album back in the day. This is the first time I've listene in over 20 years and I still rememvber the lyrics.

  • This is my favorite song hands down from Paradise. I love this band

  • I have to disagree with you on this one....while this is a great song....the best song by far is "Rockin' The Paradise"

  • De Young honestly looks like he ripped off of Gene Shallot (or vice versa).

He might look like a sane version of Ted Turner if he grew back the mustache now.

  • AWESOME BAND! =)

  • dennis is a really nice looking guy, but he looks weird and fruity with that porno mustache and those red tights. when he shaved and cut his hair, he looked so much better. i'll say though, he looked good with the beard way back when. just weird with the 'stache.

  • I agree, Dennis's porno 'stache and perm, combined with his fashion sense, were truly frightening. During that period he always reminds me of an Italian ice cream vendor for some reason...

  • I don't blame you for thinking this way. Dennis is primarily Italian afterall with some Dutch in there. That's where he gets his premature grayness and shining blue eyes. The mustache makes him look silly. After all, what flavor of Italian spumoni ice cream do you prefer? Hahaha.

  • What, no bass player in this band? Poor Chuck, marginalized yet again. Not a single still of him. Yet random pics of horns get their moment in the spotlight. :-)

    Great song, by the way.

  • 0:37

  • Thanks. And Chuck thanks you.

  • Did you actually watch the clip?

Who is featured from 38 to 49 seconds? Check out 1:35 to 1:38 and 2:38 to 2:43...

You should really watch the ENTIRE clip before making comments.

  • Don't you of Come Sail Away? uh yeah..haha

  • @bobneub

There is a still picture of him at 02:40.

  • @bobneub and @2:37

  • @bobneub Lol I know even the preview icon is a horn! Lol

  • @bobneub I think thats chuck @0:40

  • @bobneub What are you talking about? There were stills of Chuck at 0:38 and 2:38 and several group shots too: 2:50, 2:54, 3:44

  • This was my first favorite song. I remember my mom putting the Paradise Theater in the car's cassette player whenever I was two. It's one of my first memories.

DeYoung's a great musician, but his voice doesn't mix... which is annoying in all the Shaw songs where he's in the backing vocals. Shaw's great too.

  • deyoung is 10 times the musician that ts is

  • My favorite DeYoung track on Paradise Theater. This was Styx's best album of the 1980s hands down!

  • Very cool vid! This is one song from that album that I doubt I will ever tire of. Especially since when you posted it at MySpace was the first time I seriously remember hearing it!

  • Excellent Styx song! Would like to see them perform it live sometime.

  • Great "deep cut" from a great band! Well done with the stills from that period! Thanks for sharing this!

  • Survey says: I remembered that song called "Nothing Ever Goes As Planned" by Styx when I was a very young boy. It was from the early 1980s.

  • 1981, to be exact.

  • song great. vidoe not so great
