You know, I think this was Jimmy White's best chance of winning the World Championship. Had he beaten Alex, he may well have gone on to lose to Reardon. But he would have had that vital final experience to draw on and would have taken on Davis with that rather than as a 1st time finalist in 1984..

Completely agree, i think if he won this against Alex he could well have given Reardon a run for his money. Either 1984 or 1994 where his best chances.

agree, sad to see that over the years, it seems to have been down to how quick he rushed the shot... I loved Jimmy's style, but just wished that Coaches excisted back then, like they do now. Then he woulda won i think, if someone coulda helped him with the speed/mental part of the game.

1992 and 1994 were his best chances.

In 1992 he lead Stephen " I'm obsessed with winning " Hendry 14-8.

In 1994 he missed an easy black.

He didn't deserved to lose those two finals.

He should have won against Steve " BORING " Davis in 1984 too.

If he would have won this match , he would of beaten Reardon easilly .

Jimmy's problem is that he didn't concentrate enough when it mattered the most. Otherwise he was amazing.
