Wing Commander 3: Mission 6 combat action

I've always wondered what happens if you eject in this mission. Do you get the normal critical mission eject game over, or something special since you lost the excal?

The Im Rec is like the best missle in the game, it almost never misses, even when a decoy is deployed. It either re-aquires the target or -if its closer- goes after the same kind of ship.
