I don't think I fully agree with you here (which is uncommon). I do not think it responsible for people to have an over abundance of children. It may not be a legal issue (at least here), but I think it is most definitely an ethical issue. It is not a choice that only effects her, it effects her children, the economy, the environment, and so on. If it was something that only effected the person making such choice I would agree with you 100%.

Ok. Let me clarify it by example. A woman presents herself to you who happens to be pregnant with her 10th child. What do you propose we do about that, seein' as how irresponsible it is for people to have an overabundance of children? Considering that there is such a high cost to the environment, what do you propose we do with this woman? Or with another woman who already has had 9 children and who shows clearly that if given the chance she will go for number 10. Your suggestion?

Poor girl, she thinks her marriage will last until she or her partner dies...and even if it does...how would she take care of the kids should something happen to her partner (the bread winner)?
