I figured that's how, I just couldn't find anything in After Effects that let me do that. I'm really interested to know what it was under, or how to get that. I think it's too late to add it to my entry, but it would be good to know for future stuff.
Add a camera. Turn on the box icon on all of the files in timeline that you want to make 3d. Your always better off moving the camera around rather than trying to animate the objects to move around. I did all of mine if after effects also.
I wish I had known that beforehand. I also found the corner-pinning in AE a lot easier than what I did in my video (moving things around and trying to make them look like they're in the same 3d plane). Thanks for the tip : )
inthearmsofsleep - I used adobe after effects for everything. This was just a test version for youtube quality. The final version is under my videos under the name Tarantula Video Submission.
I'm using only Adobe Premiere for everything... How did you do the 3d stuff in After Effects?

I set up a Camera that can move in 3d space. I didn't use premiere since I kept it one continuous shot. No editing needed. Good luck!
