Beautiful! I had the same thing happen to me. I had irreversible heat damage. Your hair texture looks like mine. It can be tricky and the beautician saw that I had thick hair but it is fine at well and couldn't take the heat. But I am back on track now and August will be one year since my second big chop. Thanks mstanish1! I am also a 'victim' of over-pressing, but over TIME. (I wore it straight constantly for 2-3 years) Now i have to transition after 19 years of no chemicals. I love, LOVE your hair! I wish for the day when i can do two-strand twists, and they just STAY, without holding products or rods. THAT is when i am back in business! Great video!

You can do SO many different cool/funky styles with it that would just be impossible for me without damaging my hair completely. Hehe, funny to see how easily it can go both ways for us women, always wanting what others have without appreciating what we already have. But as a young child I learned to embrace whatever I had and make sure I made the best out of it, which also includes my hair, so I was never really jealous of white people in particular for having "silky, flowy hair", knowing that every person has a different hair type and that each hair type is unique and special in itself.
This song made me cry! My hair is natural now, but I had a relaxer, hair weaves, press and curl, even a lace front wig. I spent my life trying fit in. The relaxers broke my hair off, and weaves, thinned it out, press and curl burned my hair out, and lace front wigs made my head hot, and half wigs were not the texture of my hair, and looked fake. So I cut six inches of my relaxer off, and i'm all natural. I am a fight attendant, I travel all over the world, I live in New York, and I feel free!

Very nice documentation of your hair journey! Are the styles between 40 seconds and 1:05 minutes braidouts? Like with the frohawk? The texture looks different than a twistout. It's cute!
