@ImperatorKuzco I would add the modifyer *truly* to conservative. In it's current (american) context, a "conservative" economy is completely derregulated currency-based capitalism with mega monopolies and fascism as the natural outcome.
It is possible that China and Russia did not veto the resolution so that they could own the debt we would incur from the intervention in Libya. They bought our securities so that we could go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan so why not Libya?
I think the BRICS just want African natural resources. South Africa serves as a gateway to other African countries like Iran for the middle east. Not much different from the United States. The African Union at this point is hurting for cash which creates the perfect incentive for Chinese investment.
