  • YOU WORK WITH TOKYOPOP?! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU

  • WAIT WAIT WAIT, WHAT MODELS ARE THESE!??? like copic ______ ? cause there are a lot of copic markers, pls respond!

  • @Tu51ndBl4d3 sketch

  • can u refil the multiliners cuz my one has run out and i dunno wat to do!!!?? plz help :)

  • @demig200 it depends, multiliner sp's you can refill, regular ones you can't.

  • Its so great seeing a comic artist, in a manga inspired style, who lives in the same state as me :D Love your comic btw

  • The drawing is very well done. I like the way you color and it makes all of my experiments seem to make sense. I have using the gel pen for awhile without seeing any tutorials of the same thing. I also shade in lots of blues. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • my mum got me a pack of 72 copic ciao markers for xmas today :D yay xxxx she's awesome :3

  • Did you color her with the Sketch Copic Markers?

  • @486ZQ she did.you can tell if you look at the caps.

  • @Someoneodd11 They don't sell them where I live, so I haven't seen copic Markers in person and can't tell. That's why I asked.

  • She is so cute >.<. I want to be good at coloring ;), like you!!! xD

  • I want copics... But there so pricy for only a few ( 1 =6+) so I got these regular 100 set markers in 2 types, so i got 200 markers for 31 somthing lol XD IM STILL A BEGGINER

  • Hmmm.. this helped me well. Thanks. I want a copic marker but all i have was a prisma so far. but thanks for this helpful vid. ^^

  • was wondering are copic markers better than prisma or just different?

  • @Holland88 your comment's 3 weeks old now so hopefully this is still useful to you, but if you are serious about art, Copic markers are better - they are designed to last a life time. They have refillable ink, are compatible with air brushes and have replaceable nibs (the tips). Though, I have some prismacolors, and they work just fine. They are about $2 cheaper per marker where I live, so I liked them to practice with to see if I really wanted copics.

  • You mention using your copics on thin paper. What weight and what type of paper do you use. I've been using a thick paper but it does suck the ink and leaves blotchy spots. I can not colour fast enough even in small areas to get it uniform because of the paper. Thanks for posting Amy.

  • Thanks for the good ideas. I've just started to use Copics, and tutorials are VERY helpful

  • How did you get a graphic novel published? I'm trying to do that right now. I have my idea and characters, but now what do I do?

  • @vexion15 You can start with SmackJeeves. co m! It's an amazing website where aspiring comic novelists (is that the right term? :x) can post their stuff online. I heard that if your comic is really, really good, they'll publish it! That's what happened to a writer I was following.

  • @SociallyAwkwardBunny Holy snap that is awesome! :D

  • You answered my questions about Coptic markers. Thank you for the nice video.

  • I love the picture, it's beautiful! But you might want to not get to serious with tokyopop. They are good for if you want to get big, but actually they seem to have a tendency to.. drop ou after a while. But they basically tell you 'we're not publishing your manga anymore, but we are allowed to use it in any way we want'. It's really up to you, but that's what they sometimes do.

  • i love how there slighty different shades

  • This is amazing! Is the outline done in copic too or is it something else? :)

  • :O Pretty~

  • I love it!

  • AHHHHHH she's soo purdy XD

  • did you draw the character with copic marker too or some pencil or pen?

  • good job, what kind of paper did you use?

  • so..darn..expensive....! but so worth it! =) Good demo!

  • I love those markers!!, it's so sad that i can't get those in my country ;__;

  • were did you get those markers? and btw i love the picture you are very talented :)

  • Great drawing! I'm just starting drawing mangas and I really want to buy copic markers but they are so expensive! : ( I need your opinion should I get the the ciao or sketch and should I get 36 or 72 ? Thanks for your help! Great video

  • Sound more like your my age....wanna...uhh go out? :3

  • lol i always feel so special if i pull out my 7 Dollar copic markers :D

  • OMG YOU ARE AMAZING!

  • Great work.

Can you tell me how much Copic artwork fades if you display it in direct light? I am interested in buying some markers but like to display my work on the wall and have heard that they fade in direct sunlight or even bright indoor lights? Thanks.

  • I want copic markers! They are all expensive though! >_< the only cheap ones are £20 and end tomorrow! Noo! i dont have enough :(

  • you're amazing wow

  • I've tried to look these things up online and damn are they expensive.

  • @Xephon0930 Quality costs money- and now you know why aritsts have to charge so much for a commission. It goes all towards the supplies- very little of it actually goes back to them as profit. hence "starving artists"

  • What kind of paper do you use? You mentioned that it was soft and thin but can you be specific? I love your work! Thank you for the inspiration.

  • I've seen this drawing before :O :D but the dress was pink on that version... and I can't find it anywhere on the internet xP

aaaanyway, I love this video and I love the drawing :D

  • Very creative. I love it. You are very talented. Nice choice of colors. I'm trying to get into Copic markers. I never used 'em so I'm trying to get as many tips as possible.

  • OMG THIS IS AMAZING..I LOVE THAT MARKERS, It's bad that I can't get those markers in my country :C

  • My post secondary institution sells these in the bookstore. I used to go into the bookstore and write or doodle with sample COPIC pens.

    Good times :3

  • If those markers weren't so expensive, I'd have ALL OF THEM. :O

  • D8 <--My face the entire video

  • omg! comic markers will so work on my konata izumi pictures. were'd u buy them?????

  • But how can u draw in order not to get on the other side YET to make the drawing look realistic as yours? ^_^ Thx

  • Doesn't the markers run out quick?

  • ♥___♥ i must have those markers!

  • All I have to say.... Is that was aweome, and you actually helped me a lot with this vid. Everytime I tried to color with copic markers id always get streaks ... now i know why x.x

  • what kind of paper do you use?

  • today i spent 500 dollars on copic markers. what have i done

  • @livyluhu kewl you have 500 dollars to spend :D

  • @livyluhu loll.......... i wasted 22.89 toady just by buying 4 copic scetch markers worth it thou

  • @livyluhu damn..I wish I was you.. >3>

  • @livyluhu something awesome xD if you don't like them though I will gladly help you out xD

  • i simply LOVED the way you color *-* keep up the good work

  • Love your coloring and that image is gorgeous! I am building up my copics now. Just ordered about 7more so I can have at least 3 of each color that I alredy have. but I like how you use just the one to shade...

  • I saw these markers online (nice drawing btw :D) and i was like dan i want those but then i went to the local art store today and they had them but they're pretty expensive :(

  • How many different shades of green did you use?!

  • Whew! That's way better than my artwork! After seeing you do this, I think I'll check out your Fool's Gold series. I'd like to get some Copic markers, but I'm kind of picky with how much I spend. Do you have any recommendations as to where I can look online for the best value? Keep up the great artwork!

  • YOU WROTE FOOL'S GOLD?!!?! I love that series!!!! :D

  • What kind of exact paper do you use, because I can't trust art stores to understand soft and thin paper. Because half of them don't even understand art > ~ >;

I'm an idiot and bought watercolour paper from what a worker insisted... So I kinda want an exact brand please ; ~ ; Thank you.

  • For everyone complaining about how she pronounces it, she is pronouncing it the way the company does. I watched a tutorial DVD I got with my markers and the person talking in the video pronounced it the same way she does.

  • What copics do you use?

  • thanks, really helpful pointers

  • 0.0 ... i was stunned at first shade

    SUPER COOL!!!

keep up the good work :)

  • I love it when you shade or color something it feels like you're bringing it to life.

  • do copic markers bleed through printer paper or do u hav 2 buy a certain kind of paper?

  • I know this might be a jump WAY out of the way, but what type of pens so you use to outline the drawing itself? I try to use ultra thin sharpies but the copic markers keep making the ink bleed :/ I'm using the back of a poster board to cut out and draw on..

  • @ChibifiedBlueDemon You shouldn't outline with sharpie, sharpie is just like a marker that why it bleeds. You want to use artist pens, like faber castel/pitt or sakura. You can buy them serperately or in a pack at acmoore or micheal's. They come in different sizes and work great! :)

  • @JapaneseTeddyBear Thank you thank you thank you~!! .u. derp.

Now I can get back to drawing paper children again before school starts!

  • @ChibifiedBlueDemon You're welcome :3

  • @Zmandox89 yeah. I just went to the art store today and I could only afford 10 markers (I'm just a kid and I had saved 70$) and so I spent 70$ for 10 freaking markers. I'm so pissed.

  • MUST. HAVE. COPIC. MARKERS.

  • @BubbieBuddy their DAMN expensive. $6.49 per marker.

  • @BubbieBuddy ME.TOO.

  • you work for tokyopop?!?!?!awesome. . .no wonder u have such mad skillz :)

  • Thank you for showing how you color, Its very tempting to cover every inch with colors but remember that a white spot can be very lifting and gorgeous.

I draw alot myself so its fun to look how others do it and thanks to you i learned something new

  • oh...the attention to detail....*sobs*

I know now what separates me from the true professionals.

    :/

    Awesome job!!! <3

  • I bought a couple of these to try them out, and. They're amazing!! Is there an online store where you can buy them a little cheaper? Cause mine were six bucks a pop D:

  • @xPeetaSpikeFangx i got mine yesterday for $200 for 72 markers :) it was the best deal ever! go to amazon and look up copic markers. other deals r like $300-400 so $200 is the best price :D

  • Wow, you have your own professionally published manga?

    Very nice!

  • Nice :D

  • How many shades of teal did you use?

  • Nice is it BG49 ?? =)), I like the names on them and best colors or my favorits is "GO5 / YR04 / Special Black =)... I have 108 Copic markers and 80 Sketch.. I like Sketch much more they are lovly to paint with.. The prize is alot but its cheap if comparing with other hobbys like Golf ...

  • Why type of pen do you use to ink your images, and how long do you let them sit?

  • Im going to get these markers tomorow any suggestions

  • This was crazy, but I watched this video probably 6 months ago. Last week, while I was at work, I was setting up a Copic marker display, as well as the little demo books they came with, and saw this drawing in it. Recognized it immediately lol. Had to bring up the video again.

    Amazing drawing! :)

  • @gumbydarnit Yeah, they asked me to contribute to that! Way cool! I even got my pick of Copic swag, it was crazy!

  • This is really amazing!!

Is the shading color a darker color, or do you just recolor and it goes darker??

  • what exactly are copic markers? are they like sharpies?

  • @Forevirknight I'm not sure if someone has already answered your question or not, so I hope you don't mind me answering. No, copics are not like sharpies. They are an alcohol based marker that are double ended. They allow a smooth lay down of color that can be easily blended and mix with other copic markers. I hope that helps a bit. :)

  • @Tejina91 thanks man. no-one had answered yet so thanks!

  • you have a cool name.

  • i could watch you color for hours.

  • I have one question : For you, what's better ? Promarkers or Copics ?

  • Where is the best place to buy Copics? Do they have Copics at Micheals?

  • @boringtoawesome yes there about $7 each here in NY

  • @boringtoawesome dick blick.com sells them for 5$ each for sketch, and around $3.22 for caio's

  • theyre copics not cowpics =_=''

    so annoying

  • @Paechi let her pronounce it the way she wants.

  • Can i ask What paper did u use?

    thnx ! ^^

  • I head copics were deadly expensive (like $5 per marker. Ouch.) so i just wanted to know... Well they look worht it but how long will they last?

  • I'm looking for markers that don't bleed through paper. I used watercolor paper 90lbs, carriage and bristol. Promarker - Permanent twin tips bleed and the color seams to fade a shade on the finished work. I believe that's because it has alcohol.

I've never heard of paper being referred to as thin or light. Can you elaborate?

    Your work is fabulous!!

  • These markers are expensive but worth it to experienced artists. If your not experienced then it's not really recommended because you'll just be wasting your 5-7 $ per marker. Just saying.

  • how long do they take to dry on paper

  • and ive been using colouring pencils all this time.....

  • Where did you Buy these [They Look Really Good] And For How much? :3

  • where can i y these markers for cheap

  • I like coloring mostly 'cause of the shading too. xD

    I'm like, "Yay, shadding!"

  • Hey Amy, what kind of pens do you use for outlining? What do you recommend?

  • beautiful

  • what kind of paper do you use??

  • Ciao's are better for beginners and there is no difference between the quality of Ciao and sketch. they have the same nibs and are both interchangable and refillable. Ciao's are less expensive because they don't hold a smuch as the bigger sketch pen. Sketches are also oval so they don't roll. So you're basically paying loads more for a pen that is a bit bigger and doesn't roll. I'm about to buy ciao after being confused about why Sketches were so much more expensive. Just size diff not quality.

  • Girl, you're awesome!!!

  • umm how much would a copic marker cost by the way, i love your work, you have talent.. :)

  • were you at the nan desu kan 2010??? i thought i met a woman there who had a manga and i think that was the name...

  • do you use tombow or prismacolor markers?

  • Same thing as alpha markers

  • Thanks FOr IT.

  • thanks, nice to see demo from an actual professional artist

  • great tutorial. I love your character. I will surely sub to you to see more from your talent ^.^

  • amazing! just wondering but how much would each marker cost?

  • thats really good!

  • does anyone know if copic markers bleed through paper?

  • what gray and what blue copic colors do you use to shade??? BEAUTIFUL do you have the names:

  • Hi Amy! can you please tell me what the nam of the paper you're using? :) i hope you replie.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm thinking about buying some Copic markers. I'm good with colored pencils, but watercolors are too hard to use. Your tutorial really helped. :D Thanks!

  • OMG!!! Your the creator of Fool's Gold!! : D

I first read it in grade 7, I was wondering when you plan to release the volume 2? ^^

Awesome Demo, I hear Copic Markers are pretty expensive?

  • *0* this is so beutiful

  • This was quite helpful.

  • very nice! im doing graffiti with OTR pens, is this the same system?

  • very nice! im doing graffiti with OTR pens, is this the same system?

  • So you don't have to use an airbrush when you use copics? Some websites say that you have to use an airbrush and i just thought you would use them like anormal marker. Cause i was thinking about buying them and taking my drawing to the next level so i thought that this would be a good way to enhance them. I do want a comp program, but this seems much more fun compared to sitting in front of a computer all day.

  • This is.....outstanding <3

  • Absolutely beautiful.

However, it is rather expensive to obtain one.

  • INSANE!!! can't wait to get me first set of copic markers ^____^

  • This is a wonderful sketch....just saw the video in a cricut group in cafe mom (scrapbooking card making group) This would be such a great stamp. Should you ever decide to make stamps out of your drawings I am sure they would sell well...I would be one of the first to buy them.

  • hey Im interested in buying these but i have a question....

In order to apply shading ontop of a color, do I use gray or like a complement or something?

For example, if I wanted to add a shade to a E50 TAN, would I just add E51 TAN?

    Please answer and thank you!!!!

  • I wish they were less expensive

  • is that a regular drawing or did you scan your drawing and then color it?

  • is the video have speed effect?

  • sorry, did you use copic markers or sketch markers? i'd like to buy some copics but i don't know what kind i should buy!

  • @miideas she says in the uploader comments :p

    they are sketch

  • You said you recommend a thinner, soft paper... would marker paper be okay? I've used it before, but I'm really just beginning with Copics and looking for pointers. Do you have a specific brand or type that you recommend?

I also heard from another artist that when coloring large areas it can help to put down a layer of the colorless blender first to help slow the drying. Do you have an opinion on this?

  • o-o I need those markers where do you buy your markers?

  • Exactly my experience w/ Copic....you have to work carefully and yes, THIN paper!

    Cheers,

    Jane/StickFIggy

  • Holy -

    You draw fantastic

  • r these hard to use ?

  • I've read your comic(in Finnish):D

  • Oh, man, how I wish I had copics. What are copics like? Are they sorta watery? I'm afraid that if I used them, they'd do that overlapping effect and look bad. :x

  • That looks very beautiful!

I just adore the shading and colors you used in it.

Can you please tell me where do you buy copic markers at? I can't seem to find them. :c

  • why doesnt ure ink spread? like when ure colorin beside the wand, it doesnt sink in and spread to the wand? how did you managed to do such amazing thing?

  • Since you mentioned having a colorist, do you have like a comic crew :\? Where like someone inks and tones (etc). That always confused me. You colored good :).

  • I use Milky White for really pale skin, mostly because it closely resembles mine.

  • i want to read it :D she seems sooo cute :D

  • This is amazing! This video helped me a lot. (: Thanks!

    But I have a question:

What kind of paper do you use? Is it made specially for copics?

  • Beautiful <3

  • thanks for the tips what kind of paper are you using that it is not causing the color to bleed? also what kind of ink or pen did you use to outline the character? thanks in advance

  • whats the difference? bettween prismas and copics?

  • wow, this is awesome ^^

I bought some markes myself too, but they are so expensive that I have just fev of them :/

  • Teal is my FAVORITE COLOR!! Today I bought one copic marker: B24 Sky Even though I am not a Copic marker user, my main character has sky blue hair so I like to color her hair. Thanks for posting this video up before I bought another darker marker to shade!

  • Haha I'm so jealous! xP

That was really amazing!! And so pretty :3

I wish I knew how to shade D:

If I could I would definitely get copic markers to color with ^O^

  • try drawing an anime face please i need help can you ? o and thats amazing!!!!!!!!!! wow

  • how much do copic markers cost i wanna color in my manga stuff too but i say some people selling them but they were like over 1000 dollars for 72

  • rate from a scale of one to ten. how good are copic markers?

  • how good are copic markers? rate from a scale from 1 to 10

  • That's a gorgeous shade of teal, which Copic shade is it exactly?
