It is unrealistic to assume that either one of the candidates can solve the issues in Iraq or any of the bad business deals from the Bush family. Bush Sr.'s problems bled through the Clinton presidency. They were too preoccupied with their own personal problems to see what was going on in the basement and I think they were somewhat aware but unable to conceive the seriousness because they were never truly informed. The only people who can fix the Bush admin's problems are the Bush's - SR & JR.

I guess those 8 years President Reagan served as Governor of California (1967 - 1975) doesn't count for jetdriver26 ...or any of the others who've given this post a thumbs up?
Can ANY one of you "go obama" people post ONE single accomplishment, one single thing he has done since he has been a Senator? He has a campaign about absolutely NOTHING except "change". You people are all a bunch of SHEEP. BAAA!! He is soft on war. But the truth is that since Bush has been pres, there hasnt been another embassy attacked, there hasnt been anothr ship blown up like the USS COLE, and no more suicide bombings in Israel, The Phillipines or anywhere ELSE. You better THINK b4 u vote!
He represents the biggest hope out the mess America is in. No he is not "soft" on war. He will be much more intelligent about war and conflicts, you'll see. Bush is a total idiot - and a major COWARD. B_U_S_H equals C_O_W_A_R_D. Why? Because he doesn't have the guts and intelligence to enter into an open intelligent discussion with Obama or any other person that would give him some resistance, about all the important issues.
Obama has exposed the complete cycle of racism. For the entire 20th century, the black man has been portrayed as a tough, brutal, killer, who will lash out at his enemies without thought. Now, for the first time in a long time, Uncle Tom is back. The opposition says he's soft. That is their most pitched arguement against him. And it's more than ironic that the feeblest, oldest white man to ever run for office is running on that view.
obama is hop, macaine wants war, even if obama wants war, he is not openly saying it like macaine who said he would keep our troops their for a hundred years and, will start a war against iran which might put us into world war 3 cause we know that russians are on their side, and so are the terrorists and Nks, ok maybe not the russians but still if you want world war 3 vote for macaine, if you want no world war 3 vote for obama
Your right about no terrorist attacks. Funny though that we're borrowing 30 billion dollars a month from communist china. Meanwhile the american dollar's value has plummeted. Yet with the current administration there has been no progress in this war that was supposed to last six months. Lame. I feel safer without all these troops overseas.
okayy emjee...we see what wing you swing on. And it is the one to the right. Can you tell me one thing that McCain has done for Arizona. No you cant because he has done nothing. He is a lame duck just like our current president.
just listening to him and u already know there is hope. Never mind his lack of experience, what is important is he has a clear direction of what he want bring to American. As to how to go about doing it, money can buy talents. And I am sure he will have lots of good people helping him.
Even if these words are 'propaganda' to make him seem just and wise and liberal, i'll take that over the republican propaganda which presents bush etc as powerful, brutal, and unquestionable. I hope the democrats win, as the world just looks at America and all the things Bush does and says and sees a huge hulking ultra powerful robot with the head of a chicken - ridiculous and very frightening...
i like this quote " because mccain still hasn't pointed out 1 place where he is difforent from george bush in forign polocy" its very true. any1 want 2 mention a difforence? didn't think so OBAMA 08!
I think I speak on behalf of Native Americans when I say we support Obama completely. And yes we hate bush and I think so does the rest of America. Obama For President!x!
Obama is not about black and whte in america. he is about making the country a better place for me and you and the rest of us. we had enough of bush we dont want anymore of John McCain because they are the same kind.
Funny you guys should mention it. Speaking for the Canadians I know, we in Canada support Obama, too. (Actually, I'd prefer Cynthia McKinney, but I'm pragmatic...)
I feel frightened for all democracies the world over. America is the great modern democratic experiment. America is showing signs of despotism and this signifies that the People have lost representation. If one can't see the forest for the trees, we are destined to repeat history. Please vote responsibly, but also be wary of the underlying motive for power.
What the hell! Even Holland knows what is best for USA and imagine the people that are voting for McCain. I don't understand what goes in on the McCain backers (I am talkin about people that vote for him). I know I don't wanna make this a racial issue but it is somehow isn't it? Just coz Obama is black he is not getting the support he should.
America is changing slowly but gotta be honest, it will take another 100 years for people to really let another color pass through!
It wasn't an 'extreme' attack, it wasn't even an attack. Bush was simply pointing out the lessons of history i.e, you don't offer the olive branch to people who do not want peace. There's a difference between being open to dialogue and being prone to naivete/gullibility. Dialogue with people who have sworn your destruction can only be permitted after the absolute fulfilment of strict preconditions. We are NOT one big happy family on this planet. BTW, I'm totally AGAINST the war in Iraq.
John F. Kennedy was right when he said " Never negotiate out of fear but never fear to negotiate". Mr. Obama is right - we need him as the President of the most powerful free nation.
I am so sick and tired of hearing John McCain act like he was the only soldier ever captured and tortured during the war. While he deserves admiration for his service he was not the only one who ever served and was tortured. There are many veterans who were tortured as well as John McCain but you hear nothing about them. Some were tortured and died so John McCain is lucky he survived. Also, John there are many in the senate who never served either so get a life.
John McCain talks about Obama meeting with the Iran President but does he not know that the Iran President was invited to speak at the UN where all president's from all countries were present so why is he so critical of Obama wanting to meet with these leaders to try to get a sense of where these people are coming from. You learn a lot about a person when you talk to them one-on-one.
In my opinion, President Obama thinks rationally, makes sense on the issues, has compassion for the people of this country, doesn't go off half-cocked like Bush did in Iraq.
Anything Bush and McCain and Republicans in general do does not supprise me one bit. Typical Republican scare tactics. I don't want more of the same. McCain is the one who scares me. It's time for CHANGE in America. President Obama is the man of the hour. Vote Democrats in the congress and senate to support Obamas' policies
i use to like him but if you arent persuaded so easily by politicians youll see he's not what everyone thinks he is,no politician will change anything for you, just be happy with your life as it is were better off than people in many other countries in many ways but no president will make things perfect
I am fascinated by this man and I am really excited by the prospect of him turning America back into what it was: A protector rather than an agitator.
He is an extra-ordinary guy........ Having Hussien as his middle name and being black in colour..... He has broken barriers..... Wat a great guy.. Only revolutionaries can convert obstacles into stepping stonnes... Only they can see opportunity in every ADVERSITY.... Hats off to Obama

I'm from Canada and I hope that America votes for Obama in 2008. So he can ends the war in Iraq and helps Canadians and NATO battle the Taliban and Al-Qeada in Afghanistan the people that killed 3,000 plus innocent people on 9/11.
Im sick of seeing american dead soldiers shipped home to the U.S for nothing.....frankly, in the U.S. one does not see such sad pictures on the news...all gets concealed by the bush administration.
you just only realize how much gets swept under the rug and distorted on U.S. TV when you live as an expat outside the U.S.
sorry for sending in more than one comment at a time, i didn't realize they needed to be approved and I thought something happened. You may notice a change in my tone- Igot tired.
I'm a Republican but if it's between McCain and Obama my family is voting for Obama. If it's between Hillary and McCain then we are voting for McCain....yuck!
08:30 "george bush's plan is not about winning it's about staying." (about the war in iraq) This line comes from the movie 'Zeitgeist' (2007) which is a must to see for everyone interested in politics, religion or/and money
Bush and McCain are full of shit. What have they done so good to confront Iran? That idiot Bush named them as part of the "Axis of Evil", yet decided to attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. I hope Obama wins, He has this white mans vote.
I hope Obama will become your new president in USA, but there's too much racist in south america that will never vote for him.. so a lot of votes are for hillary just from this point of view. There will be work 'til the end of this elections for Obama
What are we afraid of? We should all vote for Obama. We are already paying 4& for gas, 5$ for milk...we will definitely pay 6$ for gas! and 8$ for milk if we let McCain take the role. Lets allow some new views start a new America! Go Obama!
vote for Obama! Will be seen if he really is so good as seems if he gets to be the president. But the other two options you already know wont be good so his the only hope!!!!
Iraq wrote Islam into their constitution as the national religion. It's on line and availible for anyone who wants to read it. This is why they have burned churches and beheaded and crusified the Christians that haven't managed to escape since the US invasion. American Christians, by supporting Bush, have unknowingly partipated in the destruction of Christianity in Iraq. Does McCain even know this?
I think there are many people outside the usa backing Obama...I am one for sure,Alot people are speaking good things about this man here in the uk...What i see is a man who want to make his country a better place...you people need to pull it together or things will really get bad because of your judgement and you are the ones that will suffer the most. Look at the might dollar...Obama2008
I hope that the amerikans won t have too much fear, because obama brings a big change to the politics in the us. But the capitalism isn t working so well with a president like obama - i just hope he will become president!
Iraq wrote Islam into their constitution as the "national religion". Section 2 "No laws made that disputes the Koran". The Koran will be the bases for all legislation. It's available on the internet for everyone to read. Nearly every Christian has been driven from Iraq or crusified or beheaded. Christians crusifed in this day and age. Where is the outrage by American Christians? American Christians have helped destroy the Christians of Iraq. All because of Bush. Why? Is this democracy?
I am not from america but why wouldnt people vote him as a leader he cleary is one.And i dont know why people want McCain as a president he is exactly like Bush.Bush might as well sit in office for another 4 to 8 years if McCain wins.
His grandfather having served in WW2 is no reflection at all on his suitability to lead, and I wish he hadn't brought it up as if it had. But... that said... he does employ cheap tricks like that far less often than most politicians. And he's not been caught slinging mud at his opponents or telling direct lies.
his mentioned about his grandfather is not to reflect his ability to lead but to emphasize the fact that he is a true american too and would like to see the country heading towards the right direction.
Obama is the outstanding candidate by far...America will become both economically and socially stronger under his presidency...voting Obama into office will have benefits on a global scale, America needs Obama in my opinion
This man tell it like it is. I want an honest president. He's right, we went in for weapons of mass destruction that was NEVER found. What the heck. What is wrong w/our president????
That's y we need this man. This country needs this man.
Remember at press conferences bush made a big deal at least a couple of times about how he was not going to get involved in this campaign season? Guess he was not exactly telling the truth. So he goes into another country and fires across the bow at Obama. Was he too much of a coward to make his comments here in this country? Will these types of attacks continue from bush once he is back on US soil? We'll see.
Non-truth: During a March 14 interview with FOX News, Obama said he was never in church when his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, made the now infamous sermons during which he proclaimed "God damn America"
Nearly one month later, on April 16, Obama told a group of Jewish leaders in Philadelphia that he "did not become aware of [Wright's statements] until I started running for president," implying that he did not hear the remarks while he "sat in church."
Anyone but McCain should be president. McCain is a diminished carbon copy of George Bush. Come on Americans, McCain is an old man with nothing new to offer but war and old backdated pre vietnam politics. President's are getting younger from russia, to china, Australia and europe, imagine. I don't see how the most powerful country in the world usher in History(McCain). Hillary and Barack Obama would make good Presidents far better than McCain.
lol. Bush is hilarious. Accusing the Democrats of appeasng terrorists and relating it to Hitler... since it was Republicans who funded Hitler in the first place! hah!
bush and McCain are devil's menions but...why are they clapping for this guy,,, are they being payed, he is just doing what his breeddoest best take advantage of the situation lie and gain votes

Im an american living in switzerland.
Go obama, expats in Switzerland for obama!

Bush and McCain are full of shit. What have they done so good to confront Iran? That idiot Bush named them as part of the "Axis of Evil", yet decided to attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. I hope Obama wins, He has this white mans vote.

Iraq wrote Islam into their constitution as the "national religion". Section 2 "No laws made that disputes the Koran". The Koran will be the bases for all legislation. It's available on the internet for everyone to read. Nearly every Christian has been driven from Iraq or crusified or beheaded. Christians crusifed in this day and age. Where is the outrage by American Christians? American Christians have helped destroy the Christians of Iraq. All because of Bush. Why? Is this democracy?

His grandfather having served in WW2 is no reflection at all on his suitability to lead, and I wish he hadn't brought it up as if it had. But... that said... he does employ cheap tricks like that far less often than most politicians. And he's not been caught slinging mud at his opponents or telling direct lies.
SubsonicSound 3 years ago
his mentioned about his grandfather is not to reflect his ability to lead but to emphasize the fact that he is a true american too and would like to see the country heading towards the right direction.

We'll see.

Jeremiah Wright, April 16, 2008
