  • it should be built into the bf3 browser filter on or off how can you even tell if its on or not?

  • tks makes for more realistic gameplay and less nade and clay and motar spamming... thats how ive always played on bf2 and its a good system as long as they have the forgive and punish system where if u keep on tking and u have a neg score then u get kicked....i dont think its on console though

  • team killing is so funny and fun. especially if ur the highest rank

  • I like the idea of FF because you actually have to pick your shots. You can't just launch rockets down a hallway because you might hit a teammate. However FF is terrible when you have that special kind of loser who does it because it's funny.

  • wow

  • 1. This could be a problem in the beta, since its free. Free shit draws in the douchebags like flies on crap. Plus your stats get erased after the beta. So if you kill 20 teammates in a match and get kicked from the server.... No big deal to you.

    2. Shouldn't be that big of a deal when the game is released. Not to many people are going pay $50 bucks for a game just to douche and teamkill on purpose. But as the game starts dropping in price, it'll start happening more

  • FF on will make things interesting but the way I look at it, if I get TK'd for being a sniper than I'll make sure the TKer never ever arms or disarms a crate and/or caps a flag :)

  • @bharlan2002 yeah I think it being on does actually bring more depth to the game. Hopefully you won't have to deal with too many TKing dbags since you actually know how to play recon effectively, but there are plenty of other bush monsters that will be getting punished for sure.

  • I thought friendly fire on means it wont let you shoot your teammate?

  • @OGxKushington in every situation I'm seen friendly fire on, means team damage is possible

  • haha...thunderpumped...a classic

  • @EcentC maybe the greatest video ever made

  • @TyeWebb could be

  • i hate it when most of the medic in bc1 starts to shoot you then revive you or heals you

  • @killerplaya000 hopefully the points are setup in such a way that a medic doing this will net negative points

  • Crossfire, YOU GET CAUGHT UP IN IT!!!!!

  • @ryu481 never good to get caught up in a crossfire with other bros

  • DICE has always been good about giving customers what they want. So if they release without an option to turn it off and everybody hates it, THEY WILL patch it.

  • @pokealong1227 yeah DICE is pretty good about patching major issues, but hopefully they thought it all through well enough and it be perfect from day 1

  • @TyeWebb no game is perfect from day 1, and if our biggest problem on day 1 is friendly fire then we should be extremely happy.

  • I remember on Cod4 getting rpg'd right at the start of the game, stupid and annoying. Lets just hope these people do not ruin this game. In the balance of things i think it should be turned off as there are more cons than pros that occur from turing FF on. There is no real benifit from having it on in my opinion. Realism should be present in single player and coop mainly but it could be very annoying online. Its more annoying when i teamkill someone accidentilly as i lose points and feel guilty.

  • @MrCreeperTutorials yeah its the unintentional teamkills that actually worry me more, if you kill the wrong guy who isn't so forgiving they can spend the rest of the game trying to pay you back or just generally being annoying

  • I will not be playing BF3 if u can team kill....too many dbags out there.

  • @cardsnumber7 don't worry cards we'll protect you from the dbags

  • I say FF on is a mixed bag. Good and bad for various reasons but I won't cry about the choice the devs make cos it won't change anything.

  • @xstraightedgeveganx a mix bag for sure, I can deal either way, but I do hope they give some choices

  • That was a great streak you had in the middle of the vid. It was at least a 10-kill streak.

As for what you were saying, friendly fire will hopefully limit the amount of spraying that goes on. I'd hope that they would make it so that claymores are only triggered by the enemy team, but are still able to kill/hurt teammates if they're in the blast radius. As for people being kicked due to team-killing, I'd hope that there is an algorithm in place to rule out accidents such as 2.0 team-kills.

  • @getcrackin1 yep randomly holding down the trigger and spraying will be cut down on. In a game like this with vehicles and lots of destruction accidents will happen for sure, so some sort of protection against that is a must

  • Comment removed

  • Shoting a bush wokkie in the head will be more tempting then ever

  • @TheRomanDecimator might be more fun to run over them in a tank, its not like they will be aware enough to move out of the way.

  • I'm sure there will be an option to choose TK [OFF]. Just like with infantry only.

  • @Quarrel126 the way they worded it as being on by default does imply that there is a way to turn it off, hopefully that doesn't make the server unranked though.

  • There must, I repeat, must be a vote option here with a kill limit as a backup if this isn't going to break the non-heavy vehicle based gameplay, IMO. That way if someone kills you, you can vote to kick them, and if someone is griefing you and have a bunch of friends to prevent them getting kicked then they will still get booted for killing you lets say 4 times. 2 quick TKs or 2 TKs on the same person, vote opens. 4 quick TKs or 4 TKs on the same person boot or lower vote threshold.

  • @xJMan240x I complete forgot about a vote option, very good point, I've wondered a few times why a vote kick wasn't in BC2.

  • I`m not really bothered either as long as they lose points or something,

on console you can go into a game on BFBC2 and the whole team are shooting at each other : / ..... could be interesting.

  • @CRIMINANGEL455 as long as there is a good penalty system it should be fine, the 1st few days of release could be interesting though.

  • Imo for consoles there should be a system that compares time played with total nr of tks.

1tk/h isnt that much 50tk/h is either total retardation or not an accident. People with a teamkill/hour number thats too high should get a warning then temp bans or something.

This brings it to the stupid discussion, its their money/game they have the right to do what they want right? so what if they want to tk all day?

  • @kazm1936 Oh god please don't extent the right to TK to the I paid for the game I can play it however I want argument.

  • @TyeWebb well they did right? it is comparable in a way imo

  • The ability to teamkill has worked in a lot of games, bf and non-bf. i kinda prefer it to non-tk possibility.

See so many bc2 people talking like bc2 was the first game to ever do something right while its actually a pretty insignificant game in fps history.

On another note: we all know whats gonna happen first BF3 weeks..: I NO CAN HAS JETS NO 1 CAN HAS JETS!

  • @kazm1936 overall I'm probably more in favor of FF being on as long as there are good tools in place to combat the douche bags.

  • Has it been officially announced that FF will be on? As it's possible that Matros just said it 'off the cuff' type of thing. If it's on then that's fine with me. Brings up the realism if we can execute non-objective players for cowardice.

  • @TheCheapKills the source is a bit sketchy on this, Daniel said it on a German TS server, so its not in writing anywhere from a DICE source that I've seen so far. But I also haven't seen anyone from DICE say it isn't on either. I do like this execution of cowards idea though.

  • I don't worry about friendly fire from the perspective of gamers who play legitimately. That being said, as time goes on, people will become more obnoxious, teamkill to get vehicles, TK the vehicles, and heck, if they want to troll certain folks in the game, now they can TK them. I have seen so much bad behaviour in BC2 that I really hope that doesn't carry over into BF3.

  • @oplim77 If you played BC1 like I did then you know that this was a horrible thing. People team killed people of the stationary mortars all the time. People teamkill people for vehicles in hardcore ALL the time and with the maps getting bigger there are definitely going to be people who teamkill people out of vehicles so they can take them alone. I thought they'd learned their lesson after that being such a big issue before but obviously not. Good thing I like infantry.

  • @oplim77 one terrible thought I had was assholes that join people's livestreams to be annoying. TKing gives those guys one more weapon. I know if I was livestreaming BF3, I'd join on FF off server without a doubt.

  • I agree they need some sort of system to deal with teamkilling. On consoles if you had 5 teamkills you are kicked but you could immediately rejoin. Once you're out you shouldn't be able to rejoin because the teamkilling would usually continue. As for explosive spamming i think you're right friendly fire will make it less and less appealing.

  • @vanished001 5 seems a bit high to me till getting booted. I agree you shouldn't be able to rejoin, maybe if you get booted for TKing you should earn yourself a timeout of 15 minutes where you can't join any servers, at least on console.

  • I dunno yo. I won't care, so much, if friendly fire is on in the default, normal mode. But, that's the mode I'll be spending the most time on. As long as there is an automated kick system or it gives me the option to boot 'em or forgive 'em, I'm straight. Ideally, nah, I'd prefer it only be on in hardcore mode. It'll be incredible, either way. Not worried about it.

  • @johnshupe hopefully there are options for it being on or off so everyone can be happy, of course that divides the player base, but there should be enough people playing this that I don't think that'll be an issue.

  • Yeah Bad Company 1 also had friendly fire on. Personally I don't mind it as long as the game can handle those who abuse friendly fire.

  • @TheDrunkindunkin it really comes down to the player base, if the players in the game are assholes, then it'll be a problem otherwise it should be fine.

  • FF on is a good thing.Accidental TK? Q -> Sorry. Also in BF2 there was an option to Forgive or Punish (point loss)the dude who TK'd you.

  • @deffikE05 forgot about that, I guess I haven't spent enough time TKing in BF2, looks like I know what to do with the rest of the day. But a serious note, point loss seems pretty meaningless, a little into a games life cycle rank and points don't matter.

  • I like it. BACK TO THE GOOD OL' DAYS OF BF2 YOU PUSSIES. <3

  • @Shibby2142 god damn PC BF2 elitist
