  • how did you cut the lid so that it still fits nicely on the pot?

  • Why did you add alcohol?

  • yummy.

  • the shell r made of what?... tin or aluminum sheet?..

  • Any chance your going to sell these Foster cookers Lanny ?

  • mmmmmmmm... rice...............

  • Excellent design! I like the way the whole system goes together. Have you ever looked at having the fins point outward rather than inward (like MrBillTroop73 with the copper foil). It would be nice to see the time to boil and alcohol usage to boil just 2 cups of water with and without the windscreen/heat exchanger hardware as a reference. Anyway, outstanding job! 5 stars.

  • Any plans to make one for a snow peak 600 pot?

Would like to see if that would work as well.

  • that is so nifty! I like it...nice utilization of such a minimal amount of fuel.

  • Where did you get the materials for this video

  • Nice! U really know how to use the heat produced.

    Thx for sharing!

  • a sunny day ,a magGlass and mirror ,,but wear your UV sunglasses when capturing solar apps ..but just heating stone or coboven ,,this could adapt well for backup ,,sun fuels cheap !!charcoal chips fueld the smelters ,,fired bricks ..excellent video ,thanks for shareing

  • Please subscribe to my channel. I have many videos coming up on Bushcraft, gear reviews and other interesting things

  • Congratulations are in order for your vertical pot cooker. I'm thinking this may be just as effectve with a shorter pot, as long as it is not made into a pan. Any experience with a shorter system?

  • Great work and video- Although I have worked in appropriate technology for some time, I have never seen anything like your design style, simple yet elegance. Very good work-keep it up. How can we get in contact with you?

  • Talk about ultra light back packing. You could go into the woods with a water filter this stove and 10 lbs of rice and live for months. These are things folks might need to learn should they need to fight tyranny at any point in the future. The only thing I rather see is cooking with wood you never run out of wood. A little snare wire and you have rabbits and squirrels. Great ideas.

  • Its kind of funny! You have the most creative mind and think of everything except that the can will be to hot to hold!!! YOUR ARE GREAT!

  • ...and you might learn to spell.

  • What are you talking about?

  • Spelling. The spelling of words. I was talking about how words were spelled, and I made my comment in reference to that.

  • Which words were misspelled?

  • I'm guessing he is talking about the misuse of your words. The first "to" should have been "too" and the "Your" should have been "You are".

Apparently he has nothing better to do than berate you.

I'm just letting you know. Not poking fun.

  • @Bently100

Thanks, Bently100, sorry about the slow response!

It has a bail handle to hold the pot.

  • Before the shot with the rice you have the holes on the outer sleeve on the bottom then after you light the flame it is at the top? which is correct?

  • The holes should be at the bottom. I had to re shoot that scene and put the holes up!

  • very unique design.

  • Nice system. How much alcohol does it save you in comparison with not using anything for a wind screen?

  • How long does it take for all the alcohol in the stove to get consumed?

  • Very good, well done.

  • wow, great stove!

  • This is brilliant! Can you make a video about how you made it? preferably something along the for dumbies DIY type of thing XD

    Thnx!

  • Smart man! you solved a problem, and you don't create another - unlike "most western inventors". I hope to see your inventions - in real use soon. Thanks!

  • Nice , very Nice, and efficient!

  • This is sweet! And very efficient. I'd love more info on the fins themselves, etc.

I guess I'll have to empty a few cans of Fosters so I can try to make this. What a shame? LOL

  • cool, what a great way to recycle!

  • guineas lanny

  • i just tested a prototype and boiled 2c water from the redbull top burner stove (too HOT-need smaller stove!) in an Arizona creek, in just over 4 minutes. The water temp was near 70°

(my personal system using same stove takes at least 7 minutes from start to boil)

well done, it looks like a very efficient system. Mike

  • Again, more brilliant than ever! Thanks!

  • beautiful!!!!

    you are very innovative!!!

  • Fantastic, will you be selling these?

  • There are no words to express how impressed I am with your latest idea. Well done Lanny!

  • Wow. 1 tablespoon. Amazing.

  • Superb Design!

I love it. 0.5 oz alcohol use makes this very efficient.

  • wow, wow-thankyou!

  • Amazing!! 5/5 That is one of the coolest ideas I've seen! awesome job!!

    Ed

  • great vid - thanks!!!

  • 5 stars!

Thanks so much for the video. 5*

  • Wow. Awesome! Excellent job.

  • That great set up but way to much rice for me so i cut ever thing in half be better and faster right .

  • You did it again Lanny!Great idea and great video. Now all I want to know is when do they go on sale????

  • Very effective! Wonderful idea and setup. This idea helps aid conservation of fuel while on the trail. 5 * on this one. How much does this set up weigh and did you used aluminum flashing for this?
