surely sideshow must have some kind of quality control back at the factory? I am collecting the hot toys figures and touch wood they all have been ok. i am thinking of getting the Iron Man 2 mark VI maquette, but i have heard of problems with thats paint work. For the price we pay, they have to be just spot on. i would love them to be made here in the UK, or the USA, instead of China

Hi there what kind of adapter did you use,so i can plug mine in.....

@british501 I'm not sure what voltage he runs off if you use an adapter, as he take 4 - 1.5v batteries I would imagine a 6v adapter

I just saw a guy who destroyed the bust in order to get a replacement. It was so shocking. Now it costs over $1000 on ebay. I guess its not worth that price. SInce I don't have MK 3 maybe I'll get one from kotobukiya. Love the way you display it. Looks very luxurious....

I have the battle damaged version,which also had no shine to it`s red paintwork.

So i decided to try some Duraglit Silvo metal polish (the cotton wool stuff)on the red paintwork,i was amazed at how easy it was to get a realy great shine.

Once you start, you will have to do all of it as it will look very obvious.

I also had some scratches,but with careful buffing i got rid of those as well

It looks so much better now .

Are you getting any of the terminator stuff? t-600 bust, t-700 black, endo skull or the t-600 life size figure from muckle mannequin? If so, can you review it? Great vid by the way.

No I don't intend to get anymore Terminator stuff just yet, I like variety, I don't like to collect items of the same (or similar) characters.

I been collecting for over 2 years and have the iron man bust as well. Well, from hearing most of my peers you are correct about the paint work. For some reason I lucked out on the "eye sore" paint spots. Only complaint I have is the switch inside came off and I could hear it rattle. It's a trade off I guess.

Ok, received mine bust today. I mean it's really awesome in many ways, love the way it looks, but it's pretty much the same as yours, with paint problems and stuff. Gotta just live with it :D, but my review comes soon and you can take a look at yourself....

Looks good in the case...maybe you can get it repainted 1 day! I really do hope sideshow will take quality control on some of their pieces a little more seriously. They really are a fantastic company and I hope they learn from this as well. YEAH Bro that Predalien bust is gonna kick all sorts of poly-stone arse lol.....can't wait. Very nice review my friend. I'm also precise when examining my items, heck we gotta be since these things cost a lot. I had some troubles with the blue paint on my Master Replicas Special Ops helmet, but nowadays I don't anymore think about it. Mine Iron Man bust should arrive within 2-3 weeks and I'm gonna particularly look for the paint job. At the moment I don't live with high expectations, but we'll see.

You're right about the bust looking fine in the display - you wouldn't know it was damaged! I like the new video presentation effects too.

It looks like you're really getting into the buying of these SS products - two more new ones and others on order. I hope your in a well paid profession - and what does your gilrfriend think now?! hahaha. Keep collecting!

My girlfriend is ok with my stuff now it's organised, it used to be cluttered around the floor, but now I've got the cabinets......

Sorry to hear about ur bust mate. Ive got this bust 2 and loved it when it arrived. But now....I'm not too sure. I have the same paint issues and the tucked away neck part is very sloppy.

I've just been on sideshows website, looking at the promo and its so miss leading! Now I see why the pics and vid are so dark, to hide the IMPERFECTIONS. Although from what you can see, the paint job looks so much better. Even the base looks great. Sideshow have really let us all down with this release.

Some of the Sideshow freaks have been using Car Polish with some great success, but you have to be very careful not to rub the paint off.
