A great set of sounds, very useable for pop of all kinds. The Steinway upright is on tons of Beatles records, as is that Hammond.
But that Mellotron is not from Abbey Road - just rented - they sold the original one in 1980. The Mannborg harmonium is not Beatles era - nor are those tubular bells - McCartney has the ones from Abbey Road.
"someone called mrs mills" aggh! shes as famous for that as the Beatles are for using the mellotron on strawberry fields.a bit remiss I feel. very nice refill though =)
Terrible promotional video. These guys reeaaly look enthusiastic, lets hear some more piano sounds, and nice audio mute when describing the Hammond at the end.
Hi, i just got this recently. I use a Yamaha p90 as my midi controller seing i'm a pianist. It contains 4 different refills, one with nnxt samples and others and three refills of audio samples. So far the sound quality is top notch and theres a lot of instruments samples including strings, cellos, flutes and other. I would highly recommend this refill along with the piano refill for any serious pianist.
homework - that must explain why they're using a completely different model (and set of tapes) Mellotron than The Beatles used, or why they think it has 1/4" tape in it (it's 3/8").
good, BUT for one small fact.. i can't buy it yet.. please have products in store on the release date, I looked online at my usual shops and none have it =(
if you bothered to look , instead of plugging ur company you might know i'm NOT in the US, so why the heck would i wanna pay shipping from there?!?!... more ironic i live 10 minutes away from the real abbey road...
This looks very good, I just hope they aren't over digitized and messed with. I hope they still have the same warm and raw sound as the original instrument.
I like rewire. It's cool i guess, but I also love sequencing in Reason itself. I know I can record the audio comming from Reaon into Protools. I'd rather just to everything within Reason. Why doesn't Propellerhead let us record audio into Reason already! Alot of us are so good at Reason that I bet alot of people would just forget about Cubase,Logic,Protools etc. Reason would be a complete package for most of us. If that option was available.
Hmm. Wheres my vintage synths refill? Or my Vintage Drumboxes refill? Or my "smashing bits of metal with hammers in an Einsturzende Neubauten" fashion refill?
Seriously whats the bloody obsession with pianos and vintage keys? Have they done a poll of what people actually want from reason?
There are a lot of 3rd party companies that provide those...some even for free. But propellerheads' in house refills have generally been very high quality (drums, pianos, electromechanical) and I can't wait to check this one out.
I have both flatpacks and the wavefront refill from bitword (Which is absolutely fantastic).
I guess I'm just pissed that we've had 4 refills from propellerheads (RDK, Pianos, Reggaeton & now Abbey Road Instruments) that I and many others have had no interest in at all but still no reason 4.0.
Reason, as I'm sure you know, has a glacial development cycle because of the Props' obsession with stability. Current estimates put Reason 4 at Q4 this year. That's speculation though.
The thing about the in-house refills is that they're unique. Keyboards in Abbey Road? Electromechanical samples? Who else would think of that?
I think it's just assumed that you're able to build your own emulations.
Also, Rebirth RB-338 is free, which is a vintage synth (303) and two vintage drumboxes (808, 909). It Rewires into Reason via the Rebirth Input Machine.
GearManDude whould've done this!!!

What is the matter with people here on YouTube? I think this is insanely cool!
I hope when I get it it's as good as it sounds like it is from the demos.

not once do they even mention the beatles,
and it was the vintage synth expert that said it was 1/4" tapes, not the propellerhead guy.
karmaburna 3 years ago
they don't mention the beatles because they probably don't have permission.
