@lVleSHuGGA Same with my single GTX 480: In Night I'm getting an average of 88.5, max of 154.8 and min of 37.4 which is much better than 2 5870's lol. Same in Rain: 41.2/97.0/150.5. The 2 5870's only beat it in Day and Sunshafts and only by 4-5 frames.... forgot to mention the game is made for ATI cards xDDD

I see nothing that requires tessellation here, it doesn't get close enough to any of the objects to make it visible. Plus I believe that Stalker doesn't do tessellation on the trees any way. I'm not faulting what you've done, but Stalker has failed @ what tessellation is meant to be about.

Finished CoP a few weeks ago. (also was using a dual 5870 based machine) Awesome demo of tessellation and DX11 lighting. Quite breathtaking but a little distracting from the gameplay at times. Looks fantastic.. Tried it on my machine in my apartment in London (has a 295) certainly notced the lack of DX11 features. The textures even look good when your right in front of them. Well made game!

my asus 27" rapes that CRT. 75hz is not needed in LCD monitors anyways. CRT is just so hard on the eyes you use higher refresh rates lol. Try running games full res on a 27 with max everything like me and others. Then you can say PWNED!!!!

the 285 performs less than the 5870 in proven benchmarks. The 285 DOES NOT support DX11.

This 5870 eats anything max res. max settings. (yes that includes Crysis)

Samsung makes epic monitors but couldn't find a good big one for decent price.

Nvidia is way overpriced and the new 400series only has 10-15% performance gain on the 5870

A single HD 5870 can run STALKER CoP on it's maximum possible settings and still get a playable framer rate? STALKER CS and CoP actually run slower than Crysis on it's maximum settings.

@youngdones lol. thats incorrect. Crysis on its maximum settings is much, much, harder to run than CoP. CoP runs better in DX11, because it is what it was optimized for. Crysis on Ultra High, with the natural mod, is entirely more demanding. And yes the Natural Mod is considered to be in the settings in terms of quality.

@youngdones hm heah. I think this is because even if CoP doesn't have so good textures its world is full of so many anomalies that use resources for their physics and there are so many npcs doing random things.

Stalker's npc a.i. is more complex than the one the Koreans have on Crysis.

@Kriegerherz15 Your CPU is good Core 2 Quad beats i5 anyday, but make sure you got dual channel memory (3GB isnt dual channel) and the max memory speeds for your motherboard. And the 8600GT cannot handle this on max unless paired with another you might be able to have it on high with extra cooling. Just geta couple $70-80 cards and SLi/Crossfire them and you will be fine.

Just completed CoP. Its a good way of seeing the difference between DX11 and non DX11 images. The lighting in particular is stunning in DX11 for this game. Tesselation is good same as with AVP but for me the lighting in this at sunrise / set was amazing. Seeing the play of light and shadow is pretty stunning. Unfortunately its sometimes distracting, your staring at the graphics when something is trying to rip you to shred lol.

That being said, Fallout 3's story is SOOOO much better than Stalker's! I think both games are fun though, but I enjoyed FO3 much more.
