  • How did you get avionics wired into GoPro?

  • @MrMattmcallister You record the communication with a recorder and applies it on the filmclip from your gopro.

  • @sogatt what do you mean you record it with a recorder?

  • Matt,

How do you record the communications? What software did you use to produce video?

  • If anyone was wondering the song is : Two Steps From Hell - Heart Of Courage. Knew this song through Gmod Idiot Box!

  • hey how do you record the communication ? great video !

  • Thats amazing, hope your Solo went well! Congrats!

  • Does the gopro require an STC?

  • Can you remove an adhesive Gropro mount after using it or does it simply stay there for ever? I'd like to know because I have a gopro and I want to try to mount it on my 172 with an adhesive mount. Thanks!!!

  • @adlegris Of course you can but it's not easy. You need a hair dryer - Warm the attached mount up and slowly bend it away, don't hurry, let it take the time it takes, just remember to do it slowly. And I would not recommend you to re-use it even if it would be possible, buy a new one if you want to be sure.

  • I am impressed with the quality of this footage... On a side note, you kept your plane very well aligned with the center line during take-off, good job!

  • music?

  • does it not spoil the air flow over the wing?

  • Sweet video! Thats a great camera u have there. Cool music too

  • How did you get the recording from the mics?

  • I like the way the music feels like your in the movie Armageddon, and you're taking off to save the world...in a Cessna...hahaha. Nice work.

  • Does the suction cups that come with the go pro work to? I've heard different stories

  • Hey mate, starting my PPL soon so going to get a GoProHD2 and I'm doing it in a SportsStar (Very much like a Diamond D40) how could I attach them to a Wing or something?

  • @HeathrowSpottingHD Use the mounts with the sticky side which comes with your Gopro and mount it on a good place, it doesn't matter where you attach it but remember you can't re-use a used mount if you remove it. If you like the angle you can just leave your mount attached onto your plane until next time you want to record.

  • hey did you just use the gopro suction mount? doing my solo cross country next week want the same perspective. awesome video

  • @thenglennsaid I'm not the author of this video but I have a Gopro myself. The best way to mount it is to stick the Flat Adhesive mount on the plane's flat area instead of using the suction mount. It's much more secure than using the suction mount. When you're done you can just leave the mount sticked to the plane and use it for some other time, you can't re-use it anyway once you have removed it. And remember to clean the surface before attaching the mount.

  • Absolutely Fantastic!

  • What did you edit with?

  • Take off without flaps?

  • Can you tell me how to record the mic and radio? I am flying in a cessna 152 and 172 right now

  • @fsxAIRLINEguy I don't know if this is what he did, but I would record the sound with a sound recorder and drop it on my video

  • There pshould be a youtube channel with more content like this...

  • how did you fix the camera on the horizontal stabilizer? sorry for my english, i'm from Austria! I have no idea how to fix the gopro on my Katana xtreme!

  • @marsia380 Gopro sell a "motorsports" pack that include a suction cup. I tested this suction cup on a cessna 410 so i'm sure you can put it on your katana! link of the video on a cessna 152, 172 and 410. /watch?v=9ZbuHug6yac

  • @cmar1420 thanks alot!!

  • where did you train?

  • curious as to how you recorded the radio communications?

  • @MrSaxon4 You can download ATC communications off the web in .mp3 format, then just mix it into your video!

  • @jeb578 i am a pilot myself and am looking to record my audio. suggestions?

  • thats the coolest perspective i have seen so far. Shows the plane, the ground, and it doesn't obstruct anything infront of the plane so you can see ahead! good work. I would love to know what you used to mount the camera on the horizontal stab like this. I don't trust my suction cup on countour hdGPS to hold on to the outside of my cessna. Along with all the regulations that go along with doing that, it's not worth the risk. Let me know how you did it!!!

  • This is the best GoPro video I have ever seen! What model camera do you have?

  • what did you use to mount it? I have a big suction cup meant for cars traveling up to 200 mph and want to put it on a small Cessna that only goes about 100.

  • video compiled like a pro. Great job on making it to solo and having freakin awesome video skills.

  • Look at the prop! it looks like a squirells tail! :D

  • I mounted one of these for my Convection Connection film. The FAA saw the film and came out to my hangar to inspect how the camera was mounted. This is considered a minor alteration to the aircraft and requires a mechanic sign off to be legal. Thought you guys would like to know. Especially those who have tail numbers in your video.

  • nice video!!

  • How'd you get the ATC chatter?

  • wait,..do you mount it with the engine on? lol

  • @aviator147 I'm guessing he was turning the camera on. haha but good observation!

  • i flew at that airport... nice video bud.. congrats on your solo.

  • Would love to know how you mounted the camera - mind sharing?

  • Awesome video. what did you use to get it to stay? was it a suction cup?

Awesome! Do you have a picture of how you mounted it? Did you use teh suckin cup?
