Also an earlier comment i wrote about lisa..i meant to say she proved u did not have to be friends with others in a group to make it work. Tlc was more a business endever for lisa. She was the creative force of the group. It didnt matter at all if she recorded music or not with tlc.
To people who dont know what this song is about - its about a woman explicity telling the joy and preasure of recieving oral sex. Dianne warren wrote the song and im glad rozanda recorded it. She gives a nice non promiscious sound to the track.
Another thing about Lisa many dont know...On fanmail Lisa wrote 6 songs for the cd..Howver none of the 6 were selected on the final track listings of Fanmail. She was mad cause LaFace didnt give her the proper credit. Thats why she refused to be on all the songs on Fanmail. Most were not her ideas or songs she particated in writing.
As far as Rozanada...while she is an amazing vocalsit she doesnt have that "it" factor. Lisa Lopes was the creative force of TLC. She formed the group..the condoms and bright colors were her ideas. She named all the cd titles and wrote her own raps and many of the groups material. I think she never got the credit she deserved cause she was somewhat of a troublemaker. But I liked her the best out of the three. She proved to be in group you have to be great friends with with the members,
this song crazy when i nutted out and went huntin i said if tlc is in a ufo in the sky then come on down and cuddle. ha. i got the son of a bitch tho ladies we gonna win oneday they cant hurt our children no more
This song is one of my favorites but I have a ?....Initially I thought Tionne wasnt in this track (It was reportly a track Rozanada recorded with Debra Killings in the background) but at the end I think I here Tionne in the background chrorus. Am I hearing it right? I know on the Fanmail cd all three women of TLC recorded tracks seperately and different times with different producers. But Im certain I here Tionne at the end!
lol this used to be that lay in the bed doing nothing on a saturday afternoon music... clean up that room before moms come in their and wreck your whole day music... that background while you making out with your boo music.... that in the neighborhood park at 12:00 midnight swinging and thinking about nothing and everything at the same time music... Man I miss these days.
@vedwards22 Destiny's Child kinda did that on the 'Destiny Fulfilled' album. I mean, Beyonce led almost everything I know, but Kelly had 'Bad Habit' (and even sings it in her solo shows), and Michelle had most of 'If'. Wish they'd have done more of it though. It worked for TLC, don't see why it wouldn't have worked for DC.
@spider23000 I agree! Destiny Fulfilled is my favorite album of theirs. It's the most mature and really down to that rnb 90's girl group feeling and their only album that I consider on the same level as one of TLC's albums (crazysexycool and fanmail)
@cchllover The track is called Something You Wanna Know off the first album. 8 bars is a lot more than other girls are getting in these otha groups. I'd rather get 2 bars than be singing back up for the bulk of my career.
@vedwards22 yeah true but ok. On the 1st album Ooooooh on the TLC Tip, Lisa was all over that album. On every song except Baby Baby Baby. When CrazySexyCool came out she wasnt on a lot of songs b/c she was in the rehabilitation center for most of the recording. When FanMail came out Lisa was only featured on 4 songs out of the entire LP & her rap wasnt included on the album version of No Scrubs. She spoke about how she wasnt just an 8 bar rapper & that TLC didnt allow her to express herself
@cchllover ok..She did say that being in a group you can't express yourself like a solo artist. But TLC was one of the most well balanced girl groups. It wasn't like one was always in front, got the best outfits, the most shine in videos, and the others were background. And they did say that Lisa was the brain behind their style and she named all of their albums. Plus they all had their own solo sections on the TLC Fanmail tour. DC was Beyonce's The Supremes or The Labelle's and we all know it.
@vedwards22 but every group cant be like TLC. thats what made them so special =) even though Tionne was the lead singer *and she's stated that plenty of times including in her book Thoughts*, each girl was recognizable and had their own shine and spotlight.
@jayydee72 One thing about LaFace is that they always released singles that Tionne leads sing on. I was surprised they released "Scrubs" as the lead off single. Tionne and Left Eye wasnt even on the "actual" album recording. But that formula worked for them. I think "Come On Down" would have been a great single.
i miss this group so much.. they were my fav of all time... and so pretty ... so normal... girls could relate to em... all there songs touch most areas of life.. good work ladies i love u
