Holy wow! This is Bel Canto pretty much at it's best! Annick Massis' high notes are so fleaming and wonderful! and for course Jennifer Larmore's rich subtle mezzo has withstood the very test of time, and Bruce Ford is one of THE best tenors still around.. and to think the MET would rather have Villazon? It doesn't really make sense! But I'm really glad these Operas have finally been pulled from the depths of obscurity and are now here for us opera lovers to enjoy! Thanks so much for posting!
Thank you for these rare Donizetti, it is a real insight into his lesser known operas

How beautifully Larmore and Massis blend. I think it's a shame that Larmore is only scheduled for Gertrude at the Met over the next few seasons.
