  • A very honest horse you have there!

  • Comment removed

  • soooosweet!

  • you've got to be a hell of a strong rider! I'm currently training a 5 year old Belgian (18,2H) and I'm hoping he'll one day be as easy to control as your guy!

  • wow ! ;p

  • "Yes, you can ride them!" This is definitively exaggerated - because most girls will not be able to handle a huge horse like Kelly does. What we watch here is, what an excellent rider like Kelly can achieve when training such a horse.

Big John is a wonderful horse - powerful, majestic and elegant: 5 stars for him!

But Kelly is the supertoprider: 10 stars for her !!!

Where are more videos to watch with such a marvellous team?

  • @heinzstoffregen a horse this size can be just as easy to handle as a pony, it just depends on their training

  • amazing! that must have takes some work

  • i have a percheron and i rode it bareback when i first brought him home.. it was amazing!! haha his name is big jon too!!

  • but there hard 2 control somtimes thats wat i hate if my trainers small pony that i broke is stubborn i think drafts will b harder

  • @jillysgem it all depends on the individual horses temperment and how they are treated/trained. personally I prefer Drafts and Mustangs, both are extremely intelligent, kind, and gentle.

  • @SombraWolf24 ya i love any horses

  • @jillysgem it all depends on the type of training. any horse can be as kind and gentle and easygoing as another. a thoroughbred can be just as cool as a morgan, a tennessee walking horse can be just as gentle as a gypsy vanner.

  • nice changes! but watch your outside rein! he tends to fall a lil out through his shoulder! but very nice riding! and very nice horse! very obedient!

  • completely beautiful.

  • oh my gosh! He is Gorgeous!!!!

  • wow tht rider..

  • its a very beautiful horse :D

  • grrr i hate when people say you cant ride them!!!!!! ive ridden them before , but it was at a trail ride and the horse behind mine went really crazy , then mine did and i jumped off and broke my arm :P but yes you can ride them , just like any other horse

  • I think the issue is people feel just SO intimidated by the size and strength of these horses. I may have ridden untrained Percherons, but they always feel like freight trains to me, no matter how well they're behaving. Yay Big John!

  • I'm so glad someone else appreciates the athletic ability of the big boys! I don't know how tall this guy is but we have a 19h guy and he does this too! Extra work = pay out! Sure the little ones will learn it better and condition faster, but the big guys will try and try and go and go!!

  • wow he would make a perfect dressage horse

  • do'nt forget that when U do that exersice that the horse'e head should be twords the way you're riding not the oposit.. :)

  • @Maccis001 during training, this is how you hold their head. it is a moving bend, rather then a circle bend. once the leg cues are understood, they will train the rein cues and the head will be corrected

  • that's wonderful!

  • Wow you have a beautiful horse! And he is so supple for being a draft! Congrats on how far you have come and keep it up! Whatever you are doing is working for him :)

  • love drafts :)

but be careful he doesnt drop himself through shoulder during leg yeilds.

    very good job! he's adorable.

  • The gentle giant :)

  • its really nice to see someone using a draft for something other than pulling carts or for meat. he is lucky to have you as an owner

  • omg how tall is he??

  • @horsegal121995 I'm pretty sure he is 17.2 hands, as said in a different video

  • Thats awesome :3

  • i can do that !!!!!!!! LOL both of them

  • This is a very Handy Belgian Gelding! Wow! He looks like a blast to ride.. :) I love seeing a draft that can carry himself like this! Fun!

  • WOW Is the rider to small or the horse to big? XD haha that's HUGE!! <3 And I love it, it's very good! =D=D

  • it looks so easy.. today i tried this with my haflinger... it was very hard work and nearly impossible.. but i'll go on training her

    (i'm austrian)

  • For a moment I thought you were over bending but the horse curves around your leg very well!

  • that would be SO fun to canter on a draft horse :D

  • oh hes cuute ! good job :)

  • hes so fast! lol when i ride this one beligum she was so slow!! and hes a great mover too!! great job!

  • Nice horse! We ride our Clydesdale and he's good at his flying changes too! :) Thanks for showing everyone what the big boys can do! :D

  • Amy, How is John doing? I think about you all often.. Moose Sends his love (Hattie, Doc and Jester too)

  • Looks just enormous to me, but also so damn cute <D

  • He looks like tons of fun and a great ride!

  • This horse is a star!

  • she rides that belgian very nicely

  • lol side passes thats not wat we call em in nz

  • thats so cool

  • he is soooooo cute!

    yay for belgain flying changes!!

  • wow! hes gorgeous, and he looks very fluffy and comfy, lol!

  • WOW have never seen a belgian draft move like that before goodluck to you (;

  • where do you love? i'm coming to steal himmmm!! ;D

    he's absolutely gorgeous!

  • that is amazing. I love watching horses do things they aren't allegedly designed to do (ie draft horses doing dressage moves)

  • Mmmk, I just heard this song on the radio and I have no idea what it is called because it didn't announce it afterward. Please Help Me Out! :O

What is the name of this song??? o_o

  • Coldplay , Viva Ia Vida or death and all his friends

  • @JamminJemm

    Coldplay - Viva Ia Vida

  • My great grandmother had a Belgium and you could put a hay wraping string in his mouth and he would do annything you wanted!!

  • Awesom! And So Cool Big :'D

  • hahahah thats reallllllllllllllllllllllllly gotta hurt ur legs. i cant believe how well he moves!!!

  • He's gorgeous! Is he a belgian? God I can't ever make my horse side step or she'll buck.... Very wonderful riding! :)

  • Looks like a pleasure to ride. Beautiful boy indeed.

  • omg luv this horse he soo is pretty aww i want o give him a big hug hes soo cute

  • u kno they are half passes not side passes(srry had to say it)

  • I like chunky horses. Thoroughbreds look like they'll snap in half any minute.

  • Smeee :)

  • @DanVielwerth not all thoroughbreds are long lean lanky things. My horse is an example of that so is the one thoroughbred gelding at my work

  • I still can no get over this horse!!! SO beautiful!!!

  • Have any tips for someone trying to train a couple of Belgians for therapeutic riding? One of them was rescued from slaughter last year

  • cool!

  • I want your horse :) hes BEAUTIFUL!

  • how do you teach flying changes?

  • Really..can you tell us how you did it with Big John...maybe I can try it with my perch X.

  • you start with simple lead changes through trot, then when your horse is good with those you do simple lead chances through walk and halt.. then you should start in a figure 8 and switch your legs and hips and eventually your horse should get it!

  • wow..Im jealous.

  • great job with such a big guy!!!
