This performance is absolutely breathtaking. One of the best performances of K 488 I've ever heard - along with Haskil, Perahia, Anderszewski, Kempff, Zacharias and Paul Lewis.
The adagio in this concerto is my absolute favorite piece of music - full of longing. This is played as well as any version I've ever heard. Wonderful.
@Israel9068 Good point, seems a bit long to be a "regular" pause for this composition! But again it could be intentional- maybe to give a stronger impact on the Adagio (just guessing)?
I'm an novice but I've heard this played before and I think Trifonov just plays it with too much tension. Where there is supposed to be joy, he's jamming down on the keys, so what should be flowing sounds choppy. Of course I've still added it to my favorites.
one cannot experience such talent now days.I get shakes when I hear the 2nd mvt.He really means what he plays. SO many awful pianists out there. Perhaps Olga Kern and Argerich are also worth watching.
Slightly less adept in in 1st. movt. than in the pre-Chopinesque 2nd. (12:34) and in 3rd. movt. (19:41). Still, a very fine performance. The Israel Camerata acquits itself splendidly. Will follow this artist closely, newly discovered for me thanks to you.
Daniil tiene una musicalidad extraordinaria; es una de las mejores interpretaciones de este concierto Nº 23 de Mozart que he escuchado. Muy bien merecido el 1. Premio de la competencia Arthur Rubinstein.
