  • What was one of the first things he should have learned about engine failures on takeoff? NEVER turn back to the airport when below 500 feet! Even if there were trees or other obstacles ahead he would have still stood a better chance of survival.

  • is there a version where the chink shuts his mouth? so i can hear the death and destruction??

  • is she okay?

  • maybe he shudav kept going straight and the stall speed wudav been lower? more chances crash landining that way than face down like that. rip

  • engine failure, stall/spin, thump!

  • OWNED!

  • The new segway looks very dangerous.

  • @kaderoder did you know the owner of segway drove a segway off a cliff and died

  • The Lady was not Wing Walking. She was flying 1st class with Ryanair.

  • his wing-walking days are over...R.I.P...plane

  • Why was it necessary to use a Tiger Moth for this? If your going to kill yourself, do it in something less-beautiful.

  • Probably the first thing you learn is not to turn back at such hopelessly low altitude! haha what a dickhead

  • It's amazing how many qualified pilots use youtube :)

  • @gubbaking I am a qualified pilot using youtube..

  • @tubeyou443 Yo! Bro! A/S/Ratings?

  • never bank in a stall, unless you got plenty of altitude.,airspeed and ideas.

  • Should have givin it down elevator to keep up airspeed, could have touched down easily and walked away... Obviously not a good pilot, for any good pilot knows that turning during a stall makes the plane fall faster...

  • Pilot error. You can hear the engine sputtering. The pilot's reaction was to try to hold the nose up and make a U-turn to land downwind. I assume he was looking trees in front of him, but basic pilotage tells you it's impossible to complete a U-turn back to the runway unless you're at least 500' up. He stalled the plane while try to turn resulting in the classic stall-spin into the ground. The only correct reaction would have been to immediately lower the nose and land straight ahead.

  • @flyboy3633 ABSOLUTELY 100% CORRECT! You get an A+ in Basic Airmanship! I would just add to your "lower the nose" instruction "But not TOO low"! Think he coulda flared a bit? At that energy-state, I think he'd end up with the engine in his lap. But the girl might have had a chance.... NEVER NEVER NEVER TURN SHARPLY WHILE UNDER 300-500 FT! Unless you are Bob Hoover.

  • @Crashman2 I have a hoover a vax and it turns 360 and gets right in the little corners

  • @Crashman2 The guy stalled it...simple as that!

  • such a tragic accident, I don't really understand what happened, it seemed that engine failed, but even so why the such sudden turn to the right? Does a stall do this? If so it is scary situation. Thanks for uploading this

  • @HeartBrokeDownBlue No generally a stall does not do this however it is instinctual to turn by the pilot to gain some sort of momentum however at such a low altitude this manoeuvre is null and void (A.J trainee pilot)

  • @snake1eyes666 Putting the aircraft in a bank after an engine failure does not increase speed,or as you call it momentum. When increasing bank angle you also increase stall speed

  • @ThePolyweave I don't think he banked intentionally, That was a perfect stall and the left wing dipped. Had he realized the engine quit he should have nosed down and he might have made it to a rough landing at worst.

  • @ThePolyweave That's why they call it the "impossible turn"

  • @HeartBrokeDownBlue A stall can cause the aircraft to roll to one side, for instance Cessna 152's have a tendancy to roll sharply to the left when the wings are stalled, rudder input just before the stall can also cause dramatic roll as one wing will stall first (due to being shielded from the airflow) it's also possible that the pilot rolled the wings after the engine failed, however it is against standard operating procedures to do this, we're trained to "fly straight and find a place to land"

  • The pilot probably knew the correct procedure for power loss at low altitude on takeoff - but his response was instinctual and sadly fatal. Straight ahead still could have caused injuries/ death but the odds of survival would likely have been better.

  • looks like the airplane lost the engine power

  • Look closely. Why is the rudder at full left deflection the whole time? Murder she wrote!

  • dumb!!!!!

  • Looks like the dude on the wing got burned like a witch...

  • this happened in australia in front of a group of children, it was a regular act to raise money for a charity. Woman died straight away, pilot lived till he reached the hospital.

  • Kamikadze have nothing to do with, it happened in Australia

  • They just cant seem to kick theirold kamikazee habits over there itseems.

  • That was the pilots wife on the wing and they were going threw a nasty divorce SO, he did the right thing... :)

  • naaa the pilot probably was wanking while he was flying and then he lost control haha

  • @go4idiots you are a sick s.o.b. you know that?

  • Heres the thing the engine was missing on pull out so the loss of power causes a loss of speed and stalls. I guess he doesn' t know to review gauges and try to restart engine. But lets give him a break he tried

  • @FLY172M Even as early as WW1 pilots were intructed NOT to try and turn during an engine failure. His insticts to return to the take-off point doomed them both.

  • @longwave2007 I agree he should have not turned back .He was almost in a stall before he turned. I would think a 2 wing plane would glide a long time

  • the tigermoth is not a strong plane so therefore it is not suprising they crashed

  • stall at crossed controls instead of put the nose down to mantain speed, a tragic and stupid error

  • i think the pilot was jealous of the attention the wing walker was getting..

  • Air speed is relevant! He was too low and too slow! Classic stall spin due to pilot error.

  • @go4idiots this aint funny yer just a creep!!!!!

  • ah the smell of burning idiots in the morning...fantastic! :))

ichi ban two decker kamikaze with ugly chick in top, yes, joe tube san.

  • Banzai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @andrewkennedy27 dumb....but funny :)

  • did they died?

  • Comment removed

  • @ctufc actually: the mother of all faceplants.

should she have survived (which i doubt),she'll be her dentist's customer of the year.

  • Improper power plant failure on takeoff procedures. SAD.

  • That's why they call 'em dare devils. Must have been fun before barbque.

  • oh my god fuckin japanese

  • @bradman5505 No, Australian. You can see the "VH" on the wing, that's Australian aircraft registration markings

  • @brotherblonde no i meant the voices

  • He will get in trouble with his wife for this one....no wait his wife was on top of the wing!

  • OMG were they okay?

  • @pqwilrj What the fuck do you think?

  • what an idiot to stand on top of plane

  • ULTIMATE FACEPLANT!

  • ended almost as badly as a helicopter wing walking attempt

  • its actually japanese smarties..

  • chic kong kai! chinese is fuuny

  • PILOTO takaraka gozamesheete means:

The pilot screwed up in Japanese LOL!!!

  • damn that sucked

  • ahhh silly australians...

  • Average dumb chinese...

  • The Big P.E Pilot Error, the cause of 95% of all crashes. jacknicolluk is correct. The Moth is ill equipped for wing walking. You need the ponies under the hood.

Stearman 450, AgCat, or a Waco UPF-7 like Jimmy Franklin flew. How do I know. Years of being an A&P I love to fly, but I can't pass the physical to get my ticket, bad eyes, so I am stuck in the idiots seat.

  • @TownBranchDandy Whats wrong with your eyes?, which medical did you attempt? Class 1 or 2?..Im doing my Class 1 in a few days.

  • lmfao!!

  • damn!

  • To quote "Groundhog Day"

"They may still be ok.... (bursts into flames)... well, maybe not now...

  • made in china .....

  • Bad pilot. He should have put the nose down a little to gain airspeed but he stalled the plan causing it to dive into the ground.

  • That bitch was hot. I would fuck her even after she was a crispy critter

  • @GlasairDude

Hey glassair, take your pussy assed garaged built piece if shit and kill yourself in it.

  • Since when was it advised to take off with double parasitic drag--the "walker" should have been prone or otherwise streamlined. May not have made the crucial difference but standing up in the air flow roughly doubles the drag on small plane. Don't most wing walkers stand up AFTER some speed and alt. have been gained?

  • @bfgray Actually no - they stand throughout - however the tiger moth has never been a good wingwalking platform. A stearman with the 300 or 450 horse radial is better suited. the tiger has slats however - so you would be able to get a much higher alpha in a tiger than stearman or a stampe.

How do I know this? I fly them for a living, and the local wingwalking company come round and chat to us all the time.

And yes, @11leora is correct - this is an out of balance turn - too slow. classic spin.

  • @bfgray I would think it is never advised to take-off with someone standing on the wing!

  • @bfgray They do now

  • @bfgray No. They used to until so many of them got killed that regulations were passed so they have to be strapped in from the start.

  • Ok I am a pilot and have been for many years and most people always refer to a stall as the motor shutting down. What actually happens is the angle of attack is too great for your actual airspeed and your wings are no longer making lift. Youre a rock. And at that altitude... No chance to recover.

  • All these comments about just dipping the nose and putting the plane straight down; how many of you commenting with these words of wisdom are pilots? I'm not a pilot, never even flown a kite but even I can understand that a plane that light in windy conditions would have most likely been totally uncontrollable when it stalled. The sudden loss of power and wind probably pushed the thing left and straight down. At that altitude it wouldn't have any time to gain control.

  • Nope non pilot you are completely WRONG

  • It didn't fall from much height and didn't look like it came down with a lot of force either. I guess the pilot bit the bullet pretty instantly buts lets hope the impact killed the wing walker first and not the fire.

  • At low altitude, with engine failure, land straight ahead. You die if you try and make the turn back to the field.

  • You can survive walking on the wingof an airplane but the plane crashes....... that sucks

  • that little lady got owned

  • Dead????? *sees the slow mo replay*

    Dead.

  • Yes she died

  • Sort of looks like a they were improving the gene pool--we should all be greatful for the contribution.

  • Not as grateful than as if your grandparents had been aborted.

  • @Fromanttodugong Common dude, these guys were hacks! Or at least that is the impression I got. Sorry, but I don't respect reckless risk even while I have huge respect for "calculated risk".

  • Bf: Damn you're a moron..

  • dead

  • Stall.....

  • but wait wat happen to the plane to cuase that to happen was it the wingwalkers weight 0.o was it the pilot's fault???????????

  • @datchick360

The ATSB report is 199401106 and can be found on their website. Very interesting and thorough investigation considering this was not a multiple-passenger commercial plane.

  • How do you guys know the pilot killed anyone. Maybe there was mechanical issues that forced the stearing into the ground and he or she had no way of correcting it.

  • CRAZY STORY! CKECKY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • DUDE I THINK THE IMPACT ALONE SNAPPED HER NECK AND SPINE. sEE HOW HARD THAT HIT? THEY WERE KILLED INSTANTLY OR AT LEAST THE WING WALKER. bUT ISNT THAT PART OF THE JOB, THAT IS WHAT YOU RISK , THAT IS WHY PEOPLE COME TO SEE. cRAZY HUH/. ?

  • yep

  • This incompetent pilot killed the passenger. He should have immediately lowered the nose and landed straight ahead. We can see from the clip that there was a sufficient and suitable landing area available. He panicked and the poor woman burnt to death, it is as simple as that.

  • @arturo468 I think she was dead due to the impact.

  • translucentorb - most likely yes, but the pilot still caused the crash.

  • @arturo468

It's not simple to land a plane at stall speed, with no engine and into a headwind (look at the smoke) given the plane's orientation compared to the wind's direction, in fact, it's impossible. Luck would have been the pilot's only savior and it was not in the cards that day. Pushing the stick forward, with that much wing surface, headwind and low altitude would have resulted in a forward somersault and upside-down landing with this wing configuration.

  • Aircraft normally land into wind at speeds not far from the stall. If you take time to read the official report for this accident you will agree with me that the pilot was incompetent - no doubt about that!

  • @arturo468

The key words in my conclusion were "the plane's orientation compared to the wind's direction". What is, is, and his plane was not in the ideal position when his engine quit given wind direction and speed. This could happen to any competent pilot. Peace.

  • From the ATSB report.:

    1. Pilot did not undertake flight in accordance with conditions imposed by CAA.

    2. Reguired fine pitch propellor was not fitted.

    3. Following power, loss immediate and appropriate control inputs were not applied.

Comment on something that you are knowledgeable about.

Irrespective of wind direction, at that stage of flight and in that aircraft, the only option was to land straight ahead - end of... he killed the passenger.

  • google VH-UNA and you can find the accident report

  • thats gotta suck!

  • this is what happens when you try to perform stupid stunts on a plane. treat planes with respect...always be aware of airspeed, descent rate and attitude.

and yes pitch down with elevator if you don't get enough manifold pressure (due to engine failure, etc).

  • Well, it's hard to remain calm, there is a certain amount of alarm that you cannot submerge immediately when the only engine you have quits LOL.

But that doesn't mean you can't take immediate steps to try and save your arse based on practice and the firm conviction that the bastard will stop at the worst possible time. A conviction that every pilot should have, by the way.

  • LIke perhaps, item 16 of the conclusions?

  • You're defending someone whose performance was substandard (in a number of areas) and fatal to someone else.

Were you a mate of this bloke?

    11leora has it right.

33vortex, the airplane most certainly stalls and begins to spin. Absolutely classic.

    Change "woud" for "would", please.

Tigers do not drop like stones either.

  • Both died.

  • The woman on the wing died in the resulting fire, the pilot later because of the extensive burns on his body. The pilot was seen waving frantically just before the crash as if he was trying to catch something, it could be that he was trying to get a hold on a control cable that had snapped but nobody knows for sure.

You can see on the behaviour of the aircraft that a stall never occurred and the plane does not enter a spin. You see this because the AoA remain low and the speed fairly high.

  • pretty obvious...

  • This is not a "stall/spin" crash, nor a loss of power on takeoff. It's a control failure, the pilot had no control because one of the cables snapped.

  • no shit! thats why you stay the fuck on the ground. dumbass knew the risks!!!

  • holy crap

  • poor kid...

  • You spelled Gooks wrong, you stupid racist bastard.

  • i will spell GUKES how ever i want you stupid slant

  • You are truly the most ignorant inbred piece of shit I've ever ran into.

  • that is why i dont walk on planes...

  • @krlos116 yeah this is why it says no step on the wings.

  • deficiency womb??? WTF

  • juventus stultorum magister in pace requiestat . in vino veritas .

  • considering her occupation i think she was prepared for it.

  • You can see more info on this crash is you search "Tragic Airplane Accident - Tigermoth Loses Power on T.O." its in english!

  • believe me, no one aboard that tigermoth survived the crash. 100% guaranteed

  • were did the wing walker go

  • To the morgue??

  • :26 is the shit

  • Id say that this is looking pretty fatal... and I being one with a sick since of humor, still do not find it remotely ammusing.

  • the only reason this video is so funny is because it envolves a woman who was all exited only moments earlier. just being real...we're all thinking it....

  • i blame waldo pepper

  • what? this happened in Australia?!

  • gee, did the girl survive? well thats one thing i'm not gonna go do, be strapped to the wing of a biplane XD but porr girl

  • People's deaths sould not be on you tube much less be made fun of you MORONS!

  • How did you end up on a video titled "plane crash - wing walker' then? moron.

  • not everyone dies in plane crashes you ignorant fuck.

  • nice language. i blame the parents

  • I'm not so sure about that.... I have massive respect for those who have died. Death is lessened by an inexperiance with it.... But I would never make fun of it...

But the nagain, alot of ppl have made jokes about the titanic.... Time heals all wounds apparenly

  • nice flying man!

  • Where's Tiger Brewer when we need him?

  • Ouch. She should pick another thrill.

  • I think her body created drag and slammed the plane

  • EPIC FAIL!!

  • Hey, at least she went in doing something other than sitting on her fat ass watching youtube LOL.

  • We all gotta go sometime but dang, thats not how I want to do it, watching the ground come rushing and not a thing you could do about it.

  • VH- UNA

  • Hot chic gets snuffed,

    How much does that suck

  • 'RifledBarrel' is a funny user nic for someone who's not allowed to own a firearm.. LOL

I'm tempted to say oxymoron, but for you, just moron will do nicely. LOL

  • If Penn listens amongst the foreign speak, they'll hear them say Australia. If you know anything about aviation, you'll know that Australian registered aircraft have VH before the following three letters. It's VH, not HA

  • OUCH!

  • whats so special about a wing walker. i mean they are completely strapped in...all they do is stand there

  • The special thing is that unlike most people including me and probably you, too. They don't crap their pants while doing it :P

  • HAHA... the underside of the wing says 'HA'

  • hehe ^^

  • Don't play with u r self.Over confidence is the part of Hell....

  • had alittle to much to drink there a?

  • japanese game shows

  • Painful crash`n burn.

Actually not just painful, but deadly
