Most definitely YES, it does work ! I live in Nicaragua ,Central America and I have seen people improve their life. If the lender doesn`t get greedy and the borrower doesn`t get drunk with the money it is a great relief. THIS IS THE BEST WEAPON AGAINST GLOBALIZATION !!!
@saxfish First of all, if you got a lender that is not greedy, it is highly detrimental for the society to place him as head of microfinance instead of amcrofinance institution.
Second, in many cases, micro loans degenerate more easily into loans that allow you to buy a beer and nothing else.
