Every year, I plan my vacation to see my future wife in Oregon. During one of my many flights, this song came up. The anticipation of seeing her once again and the beauty of this track were both somehow embedded in my head. So every time I listen to this song, it reminds me of that particular trip, with me being up in the air; listening to Knuddelmaus and how I appreciated life even more. Couldn't really make a lot out, but we just sat there, looking up at the night sky, trying to find constellations... listening to this on my little phone. To Sincitytraveler: I listened to the entirety of Ulrich Schnauss' "A Strangely Isolated Place" throughout the Perseid Meteor Shower of the summer of '07. Holds precious memories to me of that summer as well. It is almost a religious experience

If you listen to Ralph and Florian - an early Kraftwerk album, Ulrich kind of captures what those guys where doing years ago, but puts a modern mix on it. Makes you think how much of an influence bands like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream have been on many people. Ive played 'Far away Trains' to death and still it sounds bloody amazing every time. Love this. Its full of hope.

I can't say M83 and Ulrich Schnauss sound all that much alike, but some of Ulrich's tracks do have some M83-ish soundscape elements. I like the lush soundscapes of both of them. Schnaussy? Ha ha, I guess that beats Ulli.
