Candy Ride is producing the best synthetic and turf winners in American racing. I'm really impressed with Twirling Candy, who I've been following since he broke his maiden. He's a bit immature, but he's demonstrating lightening quick speed as he's gone 4 for 4 in progressively tougher races. Macias, the suicidal front runner, had to be carted off the field after facing one-two punch of Twirling Candy and Sidney's Candy. Candy Ride's truncated career may have been a blessing in disguise.

Never lost. Could winning sprinting. Could win on the turf. And could destroy horses when he chose. Too bad he got hurt. No problem though I really doubt if Ghostzapper could even challenge him. Candy Ride was special.
thanks for posting! what a star!!! keep in mind medaglia d oro was like 3/5 to win race and earned like 4 million dollars..milwakee brew won the big cap back to back in 2002 and 2003..and fleetstreet dancer went to japan and won a 2 million dollar race..candy ride a STAR lots of babies now..hope one of them is a star too..and medaglia is getting off to a super start as a sire too
Too bad Candy Ride didn't run after that. you just witnessed a possible super horse! Gary Stevens(who would have ridden him,but for an injury)told Julie Krone that he was a push-button horse. That is "jockese" for he is really,really good!!!!!
Yeah, I think he would have been a household name amongst horses that you hear of everyday if his racing career had been continued. I watched that race live. He impressed the hell out of me, and I keep up with my horse racing. He's classic!

I'd say Medaglia d'oro and candy ride haven't done too badly at stud,both sires of Rachel Alexandra as well as Sidney's Candy and Chocolate Candy
