  • What happened to structure and controlling the opponent as you attack? You guys are for the most part just trading punches. May the luckiest punch win!

Although...good training format in terms of getting in there and duking it out!!!! Your many steps ahead of the schools in the U.S. in that respect.

  • @vankuen the reason they are trading punches is that most if not all of what they train in is useless under pressure, therefore they just throw as fast as hard as they can and end up grappling like beginners. There wasnt any wing chun here because wc cant be used as its trained.

  • des is irgendwos...

  • a guy who has done MMA only for a month would beat the shit out of all those posers

  • Umm...I don't know how to put this. But they train with MMA, JJ, kickboxing... Some of the people who I know are in the class have been boxers, and JJ MA. Now I understand it doesn't seem clean and clear, but they are not trying to win a belt or make it through 3 rounds, or dealing with an opponent who's been studying each others moves. Any way, most are just regular young adults and teenagers living normal live. NOT WEIGHT LIFTING AND HITTING A HEAVY BAG 2-6hrs A DAY.

  • true....but these guys arent trained for MMA...

  • @m0nkeyfl1p3 Come to Estonia and prove it, without it your words are worth sh*t!

    Great Training!!!

WITH THAT ENERGY YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST MOST!!!

AND EVEN IF YOU LOSE...YOUR OPPONENTS VICTORY WILL BE EXPENSIVE!!!

RESPECT TO MY EAST EURO BROS!!!

  • Are CRAZY.... this isn't WT, they are ANIMALS....

  • Also like to say that vids like this show what wt/wc can be.Hope to see these guys spar with other styles.

  • It isn't their main priority, but yes, infact the people in the ring do not have to use wing chun at all, they could box, wrestle or any other style they perfer. They do this for understanding, not which style is better. which is one of the great things about their teacher, who understands all styles created for one thing, and they should not compete but find their own way.

  • Cool class keep it going.

  • Greaaaat!!

  • rezalet

  • LOVE IT!

  • i think kungfusion

  • I also do understand the power and flexible strength Wing Chun produce first hand. With my teacher I truly did try and fight, and with little effort over and over again, he simply took everything and turn my power against me. Now, I am no professional fighter, but with out bragging, I am a very natural fighter and have been in number of fights with no serious loses. I pertain that it is a ART, and I enjoy learning this style.

  • I agree with you, those answers are the goals of many. I too would enjoy finding a creditable wing chun fight on youtube as well. But it is my concern that theres a slim chance to non. Because of what I stated before on the complexity of the art, and the chances of witnessing and recording an expert truely displaying pure form in a spontaneous fight.

  • These are no experts... they are people who have a year or two with basic knowledge and control, who now, in this Koong Sau attempt to make things work in these unrehearsed condition. I feel sorry for those stuck on the fact that it doesn't look good. A real fight isn't good (rarely) take champion fights for example. People who've proven they know how to fight. Something's, just don't go the way you want.

  • "These are no experts... they are people who have a year or two with basic knowledge and control"

I agree - That was my point in the first place... I would like to see what Wing Chun experts look like while fighting... any clips of that? I bet you would still see headlocks, soccer kicks, haymakers and rolling around on the ground.

  • To be fair, understanding you do train in the martial arts, BJJ and Maui Tai, but you have no footage of you and your perfect movements. Also, I would not believe your skills why'll practicing are as well duplicated in a real match.

  • "but you have no footage of you and your perfect movements"

LOL - I never made any claims as to my martial arts ability! In my opinion, there is a big difference between a great teacher, a great student and a great fighter. I was just looking for an example of a great Wing Chun fighter, and all I have seen so far is clips like this.

  • You just might. Would you be okay with that? Wing Tsun does indeed incorporate ground skills and they also stress that fact that you must do what it takes in a situation to survive. If you do have a training/fighting background, you should understand that eventhough you practice one thing you may do another.

  • I am not okay with an expert martial artist using poor technique and uncontrolled movements that are not a part of their training. What is the point of training a certain way and learning techniques if you don't use them when it really matters? You might as well stop wasting your time and just fight like an amateur. The sign of an expert is the APPLICATION of technique in a chaotic situation like this -- that is the goal of training in a martial art, and anything less is not "okay".

  • So, from your comment I should understand that when an expert learns something, they should never have to compromise nor make a mistake. So all these professional boxers or MMA fighting experts should never make movements that of another art or simply throwing a punch when they shouldn't have..

  • I agree, but your perception of this art is that of an amateur, being you have not studied this art enough to even comprehend the video. I am not talking trash, this is only true. Your intension are not to discuss this art, but to destroy any credibility it has. You don't understand it, but if you were to truly learn even a small part of this art, you would find a great amount of similar ideas and concepts with other arts.

  • Also, what defines a poor technique to you? A technique which doesn't work in a situation; due to timing, posture/structure or you just don't like what it looks like. I will admit that Wing Tsun has been bought and sold on the grounds that it looks so incredible why performing it under rehearsed condition.

But the art is a very effective fighting skill.

  • Many martial arts are very complicated in their pure form. Also many people can not confine them selves to such boundaries. This is why most Competitive sports are of a raw or strip down martial art, so it is simple for the masses or majority to adhere to it. With that said, Wing Tsun is complicated, some may be very unnatural in the beginning.

  • >>Also many people can not confine them selves to such boundaries<<

Hence the term "expert" or "master". If it were easy, the title would have no merit or value.

  • >>what defines a poor technique to you?<<

How about one that was not trained in, and goes against the lessons taught in that marital art - like throwing haymakers and rolling around on the ground...

  • >>Your intension are not to discuss this art, but to destroy any credibility it has<<

Actually, my intention is to see Wing Chun being used effectively in a fight... I am still looking, as the vast majority of the clips out there of Wing Chun are of demonstrations. I have yet to see ONE clip of an expert in Wing Chun fighting.

  • >>I should understand that when an expert learns something, they should never have to compromise nor make a mistake<<

LOL - No, that is not what I said. My point is that it is not OKAY when they do not effectively apply the techniques they claim to be experts in while resorting to sloppy moves that any untrained noob could do.

  • "Please enlighten us" there is a good display of classical WC kicks and plenty of straight punches as well as the more famous chain punches also Forward movement, do you see anyone giving up? Good use of Mon Sau Wu Sau, and counter punching control (taking the line of attack). there was a impressive Fook Sau (outside palm strike 1:20).

  • Now before you even post another comment, on inlighting us of you Wu Shu skills. UPLOAD some of it??? then we all can come train with you... no joke...

  • LOL - I have zero "Wu Shu" skills. I am interested in hearing from "experts" like you. I train in a fight club that teaches BJJ, Muay Thai, Judo and wrestling. I am by no means an expert, but this clip looks like beginners learning the reality of fighting, not skilled Wing Chun practitioners -- I guess I didn't realize that headlocks, soccer kicks, haymakers and rolling around on the ground was Wing Chun :)

  • There is much is this vid which are the ideas of WC, some of it I can't believe you don't see??? Most of it is an attemp at reacting proper you, for them to make work under uncontrolled situation.

  • "There is much is this vid which are the ideas of WC"

Like what? The stance before contact? Please enlighten us.

  • When that comment was made, I was referring to you disagreeing that what you were see on this vid "was not Wing Chun". There for, I who has gone and trained at this particular school understand that this is only a small part of there curriculum. They do teach proper movements, not to mention a SiFu with very good understand of theories, concepts and principles. Your statements also made me very warier of your understanding of WC, I may be wrong... so don't get angry. Read my other statements.

  • Okay - We are now back to square one... If "They do teach proper movements, not to mention a SiFu with very good understand of theories, concepts and principles" then why aren't these "proper" Wing Chun techniques shown in this clip? Either this clip DOES show proper WC, or it does not... which one?

  • HAHAHA...No there is ONLY ONE!!! HAHAHA

"Every body has there own personal style" Yeah...thats what I said.

How about you stop asking question, and go find out these things youself.

  • "How about you stop asking question, and go find out these things youself"

Um... that is what I am doing. If you are suggesting that I go to this school, you do realize that the World is a big place, right?

You said, "Its not your Wing Chun" what did you mean by that?

  • Its not your Wing Chun... is the correct statement. Reread my last few comments. If you still don't understand, and insist on asking a question that will lead no where. You must go and find out for your self, perhaps a visit to the school? There are other videos of the same people do practical training. "wing tsun *creazy* instructor??????????"

  • "Its not your Wing Chun"

I guess you think that everyone has their own personal style of Wing Chun then? Very funny.

  • Seriously, these fights aren't half bad... What do you people need, UFC to promote any everything. Just take a good look at amateur fights and compare them to these kids learning how to fight.

  • Again, not bad fighting, but how is this Wing Chun?

  • How about this, you travel to this school and find how effective it can be... IF you truly are look for some thing real.

  • This is real and looks effective - just not WC.

  • Well, do you have any knowledge of WC? because many movements and techniques can be found in quite a few fights. But I do understand what you might be getting at. The only pit-fall to most WC is letting it get in the way. Ideas of WC are so defined and made perfect that we often forget about natural reaction.

  • "because many movements and techniques can be found in quite a few fights"

In this video? The only WC I see in this clip is the beginning stance - after that it looks more like a brawl. These guys are doing well and the fighting isn't bad - it's just not Wing Chun it is?

  • CORRECT...the wing chun stance...then the rest are haymakers...and GRAPPLING.

  • Unrehearsed WingTsun Demonstration

Wing Tsun Scandinavia Sifu Henning part 1

wing chun vs street fighter (possibly fake)

" These are the best there is on here. The problem your always gonna run into are the techniques happen to fast, or just not as pretty as every one wants them to be." But the best thing you can do in a fight, is strike at your enemy and never give up.

  • 1) DEMO

    2) DEMO

    3) From a movie

"Do you know of ANY clips showing good WC technique during a FIGHT?"

  • NO, they make WT movements, but very hard to see in real conflict. These are students looking to understand an uncontrolled combat. Don't dismiss it so quickly. Your study WC, and you fight with it in an uncontrolled situations, yeah? Does your WC look good then? They're learning for them selves, to understand why and what works, and to not allow them selves to be fooled by how good they thought they were doing while practicing.

  • Do you know of ANY clips showing good WC technique during a fight? Please post the links...

  • This is "not a Wing Tsun competion!" Its a critical part of fighting, which most seems to misunderstand, or contest the idea all together. For example, take a novice boxer. teach him what he needs to know, then he must fight in the ring. Why? In order for him to experience the atmosphere and become comfortable with it.

If you think differently, then better for those who don't, especially if your as blind when you fight!

  • This is how you learn what a real fight feels like. Once you experience this, there wll be no more geussing.

  • Yes many of them are not experienced....but i like them very much.respect!

  • I like this so much! :) what is this song?

  • Good hard sparring and it will definitely help the students learn to fight better, but is this what applied Wing Tsun looks like?

  • It is free fighting, any free fighting is going to look really ugly. Though I do not know how experienced the fighters are.

  • "It is free fighting, any free fighting is going to look really ugly"

I agree - but they learn Wing Tsun in order to be able to apply the techniques in a fight right? Where are all the Wing Tsun techniques? I do think that these guys are inexperienced, but I have yet to see ANY Wing Tsun being applied in ANY video yet...

  • I know what you mean, but I can see quite a few WT techniques used, for example in the middle of the vid is a classic center line punch to the other guys face, and they are using a lot of chain punches as well as low straight kicks etc Wing Chun does often look like this when applied, the grace of Chi Sau seems to disappear all of a sudden.. have you done much sparring yourself?

  • To be fair I think these guys are quite experienced, any teacher putting inexperienced people into that kind of sparring would be irresponsible, you can check more videos from the same club by going to meihua dot ee

  • "To be fair I think these guys are quite experienced"

Hmmm... they don't look very experienced, but I have seen very litte Wing Tsun sparring to compare it with.

  • "have you done much sparring yourself?"

Yes - I train in Maui Tai, Judo, BJJ and wrestling, so sparring is a very important part of training. And I must say that we use all of the techniques we learn during sparring, so when I watch training clips of Wing Tsun I expected to see the same techniques being used in sparring.

  • I think what it is with this lot, is that they are trying to replicate a "real fight" or street fight, that is how it looks to me. In my Wing Chun club we so spar but not like they do, there are rules of engagement as in Judo etc where as they seem to be just going for it.

  • "they are trying to replicate a "real fight" or street fight"

Wouldn't they use they Wing Tsun for real fighting?

Have you seen some good Wing Tsun sparring? If so, can you send me a link? Not demos, but actual sparring - Thanks.
