  • This is the 2 minutes that made me fall into a deep and irrational love with the old cinema...<3

  • 1 of my all time favorite 'comfort food'.Gime this,'BringUp Baby','The Awful Truth'and 'The Woman" and they don't get much better.Ofcourse, all Hep/Tracy films were gems,as were all Cary Grants films...

  • @dramedamour

    Exactly!!!

  • Thank you for posting this marvelous film. It is one of my favorites and a favorite scene in the film. This is a real kiss. I love Cary Grant. Cary is my favorite actor, but I love Jimmy Stewart as well and Jimmy Stewart was a great kisser. Look at "It's A Wonderful Life."I love real old fashioned romance. I am so sick of seeing films in modern day where they slobber all over each other. The key to a wonderful kiss is the look of longing in their eyes and voice, and very passionate embrace.

  • bring back romance like this! my generation is missing out!

  • @dramedamour Yes! I'm with you!

  • Absolutely lovely <3

  • I'm so Team Macaulay!. I love Cary/Kate together, but Tracy/Mike are just perfection. *sigh*

  • Jimmy Stewart serenading a girl with poetry is way better than any make-out fests they have in today's movies. I'll take Jimmy Stewart in a suit and tie over any of the "sex symbols" there are today ;)

  • How romaaaaantic! I wish i could be kissed like that! *swoons dramatically*

  • lesley my love, be my professor forever!

  • besides when he shows up at Dexter's house drunk, i think the entire scene where they're in the garden is the best in the whole movie. when he says "what goes on? you've got tears in your eyes", i positively melt. you don't see this kind of magic in movies anymore.

  • I love this couple. I wish they'd ended up together

Stewart and Hepburn had some serious chemistry

  • Man Stewart lines are nothing short of poetry and he always plays a man who puts the most beautiful and talented women into a spell. I have to write these lines down.

Also while I like Cary Grant I really think she should have picked James Stewart's character. Grant had a real cool cut charm to him, but Stewart always made at least one scene something you couldn't turn your eyes from the screen from. Most actors today (especially teen stars) aren't fit to kiss the ground he walks on.

  • Mike, can you possibly isolate and post the scene where Kate & Jimmy are dancing briefly on the fountain's edge? I that had THE most magnificent and dreamy music... Many thanks.

  • I loved their chemistry and I think that Tracy needed Macaulay but only for those few days. She belonged with Dexter. Still, I LOVE their love story.

  • They are all hot. Cary, Katherine, Jimmy<3

  • Jimmy Stewart was a great kisser!

  • i love this movie... :)

  • i love this movie... :)

  • I absolutely LOVE this film. This clip made me cry!!

  • Is it just me or dose every girl want to be Katherine Hepburn in this scene.

He is the best actor ever. why can't i think of more words? why? oh yeah he is beyond all words.

  • That scene is just the best. I could watch the movie over and over again, but that is the best part. They're both soooooo beautiful and they have great chemistry. I love Kate and Jimmy!

  • "What goes on, you've got tears in your eyes."

*melts* Who wouldn't, after a speech like that? Where's THAT kind of writing in movies nowadays? Or kisses, for that matter?

  • What great chemistry Hepburn and Stewart had. No wonder he won an Oscar for this role. It isn't easy to play the guy next door AND be immeasurably sexy at the same time. He brought out the humanity in Tracy.

  • There's a magnificense in you Jimmy Stewart and Katharine Hepburn.

  • Who doesnt want to be talked to like this?! Its absolutely perfect. Nothing is better than this movie and especially this scene. So many great lines:-)

  • Watched it again just now...Love this movie.

  • They just don't kiss like that anymore. See how she drops her head like that? And see how he turns her? They just don't do that anymore its all about who is the biggest Hoover vacuum. Some things were just better like this. Jimmy was a marvel as was Cary. Here is a bit of info. n the 4 movies Cary did with Kate, there was always a love story but never a real kiss!

  • @OnyxtheDrummer

There was never a real kiss between Kate and Cary? ...I know they kissed at the end of "Holiday" and I think they kissed in "Sylvia Scarlett"

  • @MissEm181 you are right on both counts

  • @OnyxtheDrummer they also pay women more and dont have segregation these days

  • @preston9019 your point being?

if you want( (rather irrelevantly to what @OnyxtheDrummer said) to imply that there is more 'social justice' (or whatever ) now, you are wrong. only liberal westerners living in their propaganda bubble can believe that.

there was/is injustice, discrimination, exploitation and plain barbaric murder by west then and now. no change

however as said by others, quality of hollywood movies have deteriorated becoming more vulgar, stupid, and superficial

  • The incomparable collaboration of Stewart and Hepburn. Did you know that Katherine Hepburn was only actress with the most Academy Awards? And Jimmy Stewart, I adore! ;]

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, you guys!

  • "was THE only"

    Sorry about that.

    Cheers.

  • Kate could be harsh, soft, sexy, brash, practical and vulnerable in one scene. How fabulous!

  • Shut up, shut up

O Mike, Keep talking, keep talking...

    Whoooooo!

  • "i don't seem to you made of bronze?"

    <3

  • What a script!

"You're lit from within...you've got hearth fires and ...holocausts."

Good night! Who writes like that anymore? How wonderful! Only the great Jimmy Stewart could pull those line off. The score was great as well. Great film.

  • oh I love this scene! You never get to hear Jimmy Stewart talk like that!

  • Very lovely movie!

  • Ahh, this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie... I really wish Kate & Jimmy had ended up together, actually. :)

  • dude, she's going to get married tommorrow!

you're drunk, and she doesn't want to get married! Stop talking!!! (lol)

  • AAAAiiiiII, que linda esta escena, me hincha el corazón

  • thank you soo much for putting this up. i love this scene! and please please please keep it up here! thank you <33
