no actually this wasn't written by Andy Irvine unless he was around a few centuries ago. The Martin Carthy version mentioned above is an English variant of the same..I suppose you could call...traditional song.

I'm mistaken, it's not the guitar I was hearing, it was that other instrument... it's name escapes me though.

This is wonderful. I love the sound of an Irishman singing!! Love the accent and the guitar. Irish folk songs are among my favorites!!
