I have found that street fights do not incorporate any martial art. They are spontaneous and often messy and hold no structure. You need to study/practice proper street fighting tactics. This means using cheap and dirty attacks that can almost kill a man. By using these attacks, the fight can end very early. People need to stop thinking about structure and form. The common street fighter has no experience, therefore, these experts should not be making their students think in a street fight. Str
@DirtyHarry135 Yeah, but that is the point of krav maga, and RAT (rapid assault tactics - the style Vunak teaches) - you take natural movements to the most sensitive parts of human body, and practice them until they basically become like reflexes to you. You really cannot think when you have all that adrenaline in your blood, and it all comes down to instinctive moevements
@TheMatthewp23 If someone can stop a take down (like most MMA these days ) than why can't one hit with the knee at a man that just shoots in for a take down.
@dpapaioannow a take down is someone coming at you 'head first' - a prime target for a knee in the face ( or a full kick if you are fast enough) . Of course I am referring to all else being equal. similar attributes etc . i mean an average Joe would be easily taken down by an expert but what if both are expert athletes with similar attributes etc...
@AIMANALI yeah thats what i said..a take down?someone who tries to take you down head first?iam reffering to the most common kind of take down perfomed when someone is trying to sweep your legs with his hands by leaning down and pushing forward (see morote-gari in judo)you can easily counter that by shifting your upper body weight forward and your legs backwards for balance and from there...knee to the face, downward elbow to back of the head, downward elbow to the spine
@AIMANALI thats the basic mma defence for this kind of move...but its a serious foul in ufc if you continue with these kind of strikes i mentioned, you can basically leave the other guy paralyzed or even worse killed, then you go to jail ;) judo is also a sport...nothing wrong with that, judo has great attributes, but just very a portion of them of what it takes to win a streetfight...the best way to win a streetfight is to end it before it begins or dont even bother in the first place
@AIMANALI if you can end the fight without actually have to fight thats even better, its a win win situation...its better for everybody ;)groundfighting is not recommended as your primary means to an end for a streetfight...first of all it takes time, you dont fall on a mat you fall on hard concrete, what if you have more than 1 opponents,a lot of shit can happen,of course you have to know to ground fight in case something goes terribly wrong and you fall to the ground
@AIMANALI its a lie when people say most street fights end up on the ground...THEY SIMPLY DONT...the only stage when they do is when the other guy is on the ground allready by allready being knocked out from striking...the most practical and less time consuming thing is to hit...hit and run

Very informative. I like how vunak always demonstrates full contact and in real time. I wouldn't want to face him on the street.

The trick is getting in close enough to do these moves without being taken to ground. That's where the blast - trapping comes in
