  • Most rap sucks. Except when it's Rage Against the Machine.

Also, Rise Against is awesome. They should form a supergroup with Rage Against the Machine called "Rise Against the Machine"

  • yay! 1:30 isnt the end!

  • I was thinking of re-uploading a higher quality audio version of this song. Anyone else think i should?

  • you lil kids complaining about others tastes= LOLZZZZ, grow up and listen to the music and stop complaining.

  • @BWHTribe No, the way you just made this comment, that is really mature...

  • Well, I'm pretty much the one for making Rise Against fans in my school...

  • some people at my school actualy listen to good music like a day to remember, slipknot and the all mighty rise against. but still a handful of rappers and hippity hop music

  • @nogin55 LOL seriously Slipknot is worse than any rap, I never thought RA fans could be so ignorant, thats just dumb, You have to expose yourself to ALL kinds of rap to declare an entire genre garbage, i can understand if you dont like some mainstream rappers, i dont like many either, i thought i hated rap until i started listening to rappers such as POS, I listen to all kind of genre's pop-metal-rap-rock-punk, though my favorites are punk genre, it pisses me off when i read comments like this

  • @ParadeofCrows i dont think all rap songs are bad actually. if it sounds pretty catchy i wouldn't mind listening to it. it'll just get old to me in a while. if people like them, thats fine. im actually obsessed with RA. i listen to them pretty much all day =P

  • I love this song, and the school thing,i feel ur pain peopleXD everyone likes faggot ass justin bebier and shit like that

  • not my favorite song by them

  • I'm talking to Abila217 and demoncloud322.

  • Most people don't swear and listen to christian bands...

  • @11177Chiefster i wish my school was like, that coz that is what i do...

  • 5 ppl dont know good music

  • plain and simple RISE AGAINST IS AMAZING!!

  • 5 idiots listening to RA

  • I have that exact picture in poster form on my bedroom wall ^-^ If you look closely there's a bald dude taping the concert X}

  • @OceanAir162 ahha i see it!!!!

  • @OceanAir162 same

  • anyone who is a fan of Rise Against here must like them on facebook to make them more popular...they have 1 million fans which is fab!!!!!! Bands are considered real popular if they have 1MILLION and up. So LETS MAKE RISE AGAINST POPULAR!!!!!! LIKE THEM!!!!!!!!

  • @danmatt44 What's the point of being popular?

  • @danmatt44

alright, but with how their tunes go I don't we'll be of much help :P

I think they got "gaining fans" pretty much covered

  • ok every one just shut the fuck up and listen

  • transistor revolt!!! I proud to say this band is from my home town.

  • @tito283 nice

  • Nothing is more pop than being a jaded fuck who complains about selling out and saying isn't this-or-that. It's the new Black. This song is pretty EASY TO GROW TO LIKE!! (kinda poppy). I love RA both old and new.

  • @jordandrummond Lol what are you talking about? I've never looked up the lyrics and I know all the words. Its not hard to understand at all. If you want to hear hard to understand, listen to Nirvana.

  • @jordandrummond this is the ORIGINAL version of the song before it was remastered. this was all that existed when i first started listening to rise against. this is what i fell in love with, and what im still in love with. fuck the remastered version, this is the REAL rise against. they didnt fuck with the music in the studio, they just left them the way they are, absolutely incredible.

love you tim, joe, brandon. miss you dan. miss you todd.

  • @jordandrummond part of that problem is the quality

  • @jordandrummond are you kidding? this is like one of their best songs! i bet what you dont like is the recording quality or something? this was the original recording, it's been remastered now. if that's not what you don't like about it, then i'd bet it was how tim doesnt have much range in this song, but that's one of the things that makes this song incredible.

  • I actually really like this song. I like the way it was written. Most people just dont get that this is what Rise Against is all about. Also the intro to the break down at 1:40 is awesome. Have to love Brandon Barnes's drums.

  • @jordandrummond that's why the CD was remastered in 2005. give a listen to the newer version. i actually prefer this first version though.

  • punk's not dead!

  • If I was going deaf Rise Against would be the last thing I would want to hear

  • @Pharfanot Lol at the Thumb downs. That means Pharfanot would want Rise Against to be the last thing he/she would ever hear. It's a compliment to Them.

  • @Pharfanot

God willing u won't so you can keep enjoying the awesome music with the rest of us. Long Live Rise Against!!!

  • @Soldieroncrakck Thanks. Hopefully I don't. I'll have to commit suicide or something. Long Live Rise Against!!!

  • @Pharfanot wait what i dont get it is that an insult or a compliment?

  • @MrQueso6191 Compliment. Except I said that a year ago. So now I'd rather hear Offspring. But in reality I'd rather hear something more important than music before I go deaf. Just saying..............

  • @MrQueso6191 It's a compliment, almost like his last audio-supper before not ever being able to hear again lol.

  • @Pharfanot I went to see Rise Against, after the show I was literally deaf and mute for about a half hour from the awesomeness. I then met the band, which was awesome.

  • @PaulxJF YOU MET THEM? I AM SO JEALOUS :D

  • @WhatTheDuckVids Yep, some of the coolest, most modest guys I've met. Chilled with them and this absolutely beautiful girl for about 30 minutes or so.

  • @WhatTheDuckVids I have met them too but it was on a record signing so it really wasn't for long. It's almost impossible to find nicer people though.

  • @Pharfanot luckily for you Rise Against cures deafness

  • @marcos94santiago Rise Against cure AIDS.

  • Was this off appeal to reason

  • @MLopater NUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think it is on the unravled

    @AJJohnston87 :D

@MrRaaaaaaaR @Saaandvich savior isnt one of their best songs......but comparing anything but rap and other recent disney music to Jonas Brothes just doesnt work

  • @MLopater it was the unraveling

  • @MLopater

    the unraveling

  • @Saaandvich You can't compare Rise Against with Jonas Brothers!!! >> Jonas Brothers make gay music!!

  • witch one is the most views then??

  • im not crazy about savior (1st most views btw) either but it's still TONS better than the Jonas Brothers.

  • why would you even compare RISEEEEE againstttttttttttttt to hoeness brothers?

    RISE AGAINST= PUNKMONSTERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • the best album of rise against!!

  • @AJJohnston87 Bro your opinion is great! and yes reapeting base is boring has hell.

  • lol people who listen to rap have no real musical appreciation. woo hoo, repeating bass and lyrics about how rich they are, i dont give a fuck how much money u have tell me something i care to hear. like how fucked up our government is and that we all need to pitch in to fix it. it takes work. not just bitchin to the president for more welfare and hand outs. GET OFF UR LAZY ASSES AND DO SOMETHING, dont expect everyone to owe u something

  • your so fucking right man rap is shitty music that is ruining our generation!

  • @AJJohnston87 i fucking hate how people think that all rap is like that. Have you fucking heard Flobots Feat. Tim Mcilrath - White Flag Warriors???? I fucking want you to watch that then tell me what you think about it. Yea, they rap in it. All of you who hate rap for what AJJohnston said i want you to search this song and tell me what you think.

  • Rise Against = Fucking GREATEST BAND

  • WAY ahead of ya bro ; )

  • thought so. thx! :D

  • what album is this song from?

  • Great song. one of my RA faves.!

  • -_- most ppl at my school listen to fucking gay rap shit....

  • this is what i say i cant understand they ^^

    this is real musik !!

    rise against 4 ever

  • Rap is not bad but i like more to listen to music

  • @demoncloud322 same thing in my school, Im like to only one who hates rap!

  • care to the bear just own them xD

  • then you're the only one with common sense!

  • @demoncloud322 yea rap is garbage , I cannot believe people keep on listening to it and giving it a base to be continulously spewed on tv and on the air waves.

C'mon man if you don't got real shit to talk about or sing/rap about i don't even want to hear it.

  • @demoncloud322 I'll admit a lot of rap artists coming out today suck but some are still good especially the older ones

  • @demoncloud322 gay rap shit? you shoul leave the first class and learn what is real music!

  • @demoncloud322 finally somebody understand

  • @demoncloud322 get in line dude

  • @demoncloud322 i like rap but rock is better in my opinion... rap isnt gay some people arent cut out for rock so alternatives are made and people like it,

  • @demoncloud322 ya my school to

  • i agree they dont know how good rise against is and that pisses me off -.-

    @demoncloud322

  • @demoncloud322 in my shcool is worse... ppl listen to reggaeton and cumbia, believe if you listen that kind of music you will probably kill youself

  • @demoncloud322 Nah , most rappers dont like gay people and there is nothing wrong with rap because if you listen to the lyrics of good rappers you probably like it , and you should probably be from the hood or something to really understand . But still i like Rise Against and all the rock bands or punk and all the alternative styles of rock better than rap. But rappers like Tupac and Biggie were not that bad .

  • @demoncloud322 same here man, and then theyre like, "no i listen to actual bands, like linkin park" and im like *facepalm*

  • @demoncloud322 same but i got half the school into good music, i turned some kid who only liked rap and stuff into a kid who like alkaline trio, rise against, etc

  • @yankees9868 Alkaline Trio, they're great too. Did you hear Skiba did guest vocals for Rise's new album?

  • @TheEric1203 Hell Yes when i saw that it made me want march 15th to come even faster

  • @yankees9868 Same. Reminds me of when Russ Rankin did guest vocals on this album for a couple songs. That went very well too

  • @demoncloud32 same all mainstream crap

  • @demoncloud322 my school listen to fucking gay shit to

  • @demoncloud322 em too -.- and when i request rise against they are all like....: ohh thats crap -.-

  • @demoncloud322 I feel your pain, at my school they listen to friggin hardcore and hardstyle,... You can't even call that music!

  • at my school ive gotten like 10 people into rise against and then it was a chain reaction and now like 50-60 people love them ( awesome song )

  • im still tryin to spread the news and have managed 2 :(

  • linkin park is not even close to betteer than rise against

  • this song is awesom but it has an odd beat

  • its called punk....

  • Riiiiight. :D

  • im glad there are some rise against lovers in the world, the ppl in my grade havent even heard of them:,(

  • enlighten those fools!

  • i try, by god i try, but they all think linkin park is better.

  • ha yeah its exactly the same at my skool like theres me and one of my mates who love rise against then no body else who has ever heard of them..

  • A lot of people at my school have heard of RA, but they prefer LP and other Punk Rock/Alternative artists. I've only been able to convert a few (About 3-7).

  • I always think I've listened to enough Rise Against, but then I find another.... and love it. I've only found about two songs by them I haven't liked.

  • same "state of the union" and "hero of war"

  • u dont like state of the unionD:???? omg i fuckin love that song haha and god how have people not heard of them?! they are so awesome and inspirational lol they are def my favorite band lol lik i prtty much love evry song by them i hate that i havent seen them live lol and no linkin park is not bttr haha definately not lol and yea i havent tried that hard but ive converted my entire group of friends lol which is lik 30 or 40 people

  • i like it but to many times does the f word pop up lol

  • lol yea i know where your comin from lol

  • @KevinWolverinage1 state of the Union is amazing!@

  • hell yes it is! haha

  • hey i love both RA and linkin park (only the older songs, but hey) linkin park happens to be a slight more succesful than RA

im not saying RA sucks i beleive the opposite shit man i went on one of their concerts 80 kilometers away at the middle of the night on a school night and it was the best night OF MY LIFE

and @everydayadventures yes state of the union is one of the best songs ever

  • i do agree with tht, linkin park does happen to be more successful, but thts one of the things tht i think makes me like rise against more thn linkin park lol i mean dont get me wrong haha i lik linkin park too but they more mainstream lol so thts prolly one of the reasons lol

  • state of the union is freakin redonkulous because how good it is.

  • hah I have all their studio albums, but whenever I get these suggestions I gotta listen anyway and read the comments lol I really like this song and the ending is badass

  • The thing about Rise Against, all of their songs have meaning.

If you listen to the lyrics, (which im sure everyone does) you will be able to relate and reflect with your own life from what they sing about.

  • My favorite Rise Against songs are - The Good Left Undone, Six Ways 'Til Sunday, Dancing for Rain, 1000 Good Intentions, Everchanging, Savior, and the best song ever Swing Life Away ... yeah I guess I pretty much just listen to Rise Against

  • Epic win

  • My favorite rise against song.

This band is sooooooo good its hard to describe

  • RISE AGAINST FTW!!!!!!!! Greatest band in the world !!! :D

  • ohhh yeeeaah!!!

    Rise Against rulez

  • i don't care what anyone says about Rise Against, I fucking love this band. Hard or soft their lyrics are so good. Rise Against is the shit!!

  • FUCK YEA! :)

  • the only song i dont listen to is, state of the union

  • y not?!?!!?!

  • I like also Kotov Syndrome from ATR, it is pure positive energy. I made a Power-Up playlist some weeks ago and I was amazed that a lot RA song was there ^^. I love them

  • Elective ammnesia,. Historia Calamitatum, Faint Resemblense, Death Blossoms, Grammatatizor, Re-education Through Labour, Hero Of war, Audience of one... noe those were awsome!!

  • Savior, Prayer of the refugee, give it all, ready to fall, the good left undone, and my personal favorite. "Swing Life Away"

  • Yeah, RA has gotten softer with the years, but they're still a great band. I know they got a lot more mainstream-sounding on ATR, but it still wasn't a bad album by any stretch of the imagination. I love All of their albums. I think Siren Song of the Counter Culture or the Suferer and the Witness is my favorite.

  • Mine is definitely Siren Song of the Counter Culture. First "hardcore-ish" album I ever got.

  • nice song

  • ok well i guess thats me then =D

  • who would consider a real RA fan? do you have to be like 20 or somthin cause im a true fan P.S. how do you be a RA poser fan

  • I'm guessing a poser is a person who goes like "OMG I REALLY LIKE DIS BAND" but then just go spam on the music pages instead of respecting it. In my opinion, a "real" RA fan is a person who loves the music and the band for what it is, skilled artists with a great message.

  • WHy would age have anything to do with if youre a real fan or not?

Sure a lot of kids just say they like bands cus they think it makes them hard but just because Im not old enough to have heard of them when they first came out doesn't mean i can't genuinely like them.

If you had to be old enough to have been there when they came out all Rolling Stones fans would be 50 to 60 lol

  • Love this song. I love RA!

  • This reminds me Burnout 3: Takedown :D

They should've picked this one instead of Paper Wings :)

  • Hey Paperwings is a great song haha so i dont complain

  • Hehe, Paper Wings is an amazing song, but I think this would fit the game a little more, don't know why :)

  • hahaah thats how i first found out about them lol, then saw them on tv and it just blew my mind

  • kick ass fucking song!! please buy there cd's and get people to listen to them to see if they like them! try it! surpport them!i spelled that wrong and other words with it too,lol

  • That's exactly the way to get a great band to go over-mainstream... I don't want that. Let real RA fans be RA fans and let's try to keep the posers away. :) (Just my opinion)

  • I don't care how mainstream they get if it doesn't effect their music. They don't need to be a well kept secret. If something's good enough it's bound to get out.

  • Well that's the thing. imo ATR sounds like a gateway to mainstream "punk pop" music. I still enjoyed the album, there were some good songs, but never in my life have I hated an RA song as much as The Dirt Whispered. And Audience of One is one of the most popular songs on the radio... Are you serious?? Why is THAT the most popular song when Re-Education is 10x better (and I'm sure any hardcore RA fan will agree).

I doubt they'll sell out, but they really need to come back to their roots...

  • I actually didn't mind The Dirt Whispered. It was ridiculously simple, but it was reminiscent of SSotCC in general sound. The song I most hate off the new album is Savior. It sounds like Fallout Boy and Nickelback had a songwriting party and got Tim to sing it. I also didn't like ATR. They're albums don't consistently head in one direction though. So we could see a radical reversion back to the hardcore punk we love by next album.

  • I disagree, I though The Dirt Whispered was WAY too soft. It's not punk at all, it's Blink-182-style, melo-punk-pop. And I also agree that Saviour is a pretty bad song, but ATR, in general, was still pretty good. Re-Education Through Labor, Whereabouts Unknown, Collapse, Long Forgotten Sons, From Heads Unworthy were all good if not excellent songs (in exception to the two last ones I named that are arguably have too much of a "pop" style to them too). I think their best album was S&W...

  • Yeah. Elective Amnesia isnt bad either. S&W is my favorite album as well. It was hard to find a song I didn't like in that album. The low point was "Roadside" and even the raw emotion in that grew on you after awhile. In ATR, the low points are all too obvious. Although, I don't see how people can bash "Hero of War", I still like "Swing Life Away" better, but it's an amazing song. And again, I've said this before, but all of ATR suffered from Generic Chorus Syndrome.

  • I'm not too sure what GC-syndrome is but If it's what I think it is then I agree, although choruses have always been RA's strong point. And imo, Roadside is beyond incredibly well produced. Emily's vocals mix so well with Tim's, they used other more orchestral instuments for the break. It's a softer song that you very well could fall asleep on. The lyrics are great too, although the song itself is a little too "emoish" imo, but still... it's RA, so we know for a fact it's a great song...

  • Well, what i meant by that is that in all of ATR, there's a lot of cool verses, and then the Choruses just all fall back into the same mould. I don't like them from this album. In other words, I like all the verses in ATR, just not the choruses, if you get that... lol

  • Yeah, man, for me, the perfect example of what you're talking about it Whereabouts Unknown. It's an awesome song all in all but the chorus doesn't seem to fit. It seems a little too mellow... sorta' like Audience of One (although I don't like that song altogether). But yeah, I definately get it.

  • I loooove RA and i think you're right. but troghout the years, RA got a little softer at every album, i liked the Unraveling the most, and i love the emotion tim puts into his singing. he's really talented.

ithink thats one of the things which make RA RA

  • I also believe that without Tim, RA isn't RA. He's, imo, THE best punk rock vocalist there is or that there's ever been and his lyrics aren't only punk rock lyrics, they're poems in themselves. And although their albums have gotten softer and softer, they've also gotten more and more refined and sharpened... but I think they went the wrong way with ATR...

  • i agree, there were some songs i liked, but... like, the dirt whispered was kinda sucky i think.

  • Man, The Dirt Whispered was a terrible song...

  • you're right but i did like elective amnesia

    and re-education through labor.

  • ...And Historia Calamitatum, Hero of War, Collapse and even Whereabouts Unknown were good songs... And even, to a certain extent, Long Forgotten Sons, From Heads Unworthy and Strength To Go On were also really good songs... they just lacked that powerful emotion RA was so good at spawning with their songs. What I mean is that you can't really trash to songs like those... they didn't have that rawness to them like Prayer of the Refugee or Give It All did...

  • i love this song. it would be awesome in an mtb freeriding video or sumthing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Are you thinking of the start in the song ''reception fades''?
