Were they setting the seeds that Dominique's uncle (Laura Matthew's brother) may have been the one to remove the art from the lake? That could have been really interesting if the show had gone on.
The reunion movie should have picked up on the art collection storyline and fully resolved it. That stupid "consortium" plot in the reunion was almost as bad as the spaceship that took Fallon away.
For much of the middle "camp" years of Dynasty, Irving J. Moore from Dallas had come over to direct Dynasty.
However, Moore left Dynasty to go back to Dallas in Nov. of this season. David Paulsen then came over from Dallas to produce & supervise the story writing on Dynasty. They swapped shows, and this year became better on Dynasty, whilst Dallas fell into camp oblivion for 2 more years.
I think Paulsen was instrumental to the best years & writing of both shows.
It's awful they didn't at least do one more season I hate when a series ends without any resolution. It's like devaluing the entire show by leaving it hanging. A reunion show just doesn't do things justice. It would be great if the show was reignited with a updated flair maybe with some old characters and some new ones. They could tell it from the point of view of the Carrington/Colby kids.
@ferre77 This IS being done right now for Dynasty-rival Dallas. The Ewing children will take center stage with original stars Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy & Priscilla Presley backing/guesting. TNT has approved the pilot to be filmed on location (in Texas as Dallas famously filmed on-site; this is something Dynasty truly lacked). As for Dynasty, it deserved to be cancelled in '89. The final season (though lauded by some) was so far from what made the show great it was embarrassing.
@prueisgr8 Gross! That's one OLD couple! Just "ignore" Krystle lying in a coma, just hook up with the English hooker. Maybe her horny daughter can join them in one of Dynasty's famous A-moral, taboo relationships. Given Dynasty's plunging ratings in season 9, the season 10 budgets would have been drastically reduced, leading to a show with even cheaper and uglier sets, actors and locations than this awful season's. No wonder it was cancelled.
or Blake and Alexis might have been together in season 10, the writers were pushing them together in the last epsode..pity, there wasn't a season 10, it would have been interesting to see...
@memoir4you Blake and Alexis would never have gotten together during season 10 because Joan Collins (and Michael Nader) quit the show during this year. Hence the cliffhanger involving those two.
The acting is not better since it's often exagerated. And before, it was the contrary: quite static. In both cases, it is unatural. Only in season 1 the acting was perfect.
Sorry but your wrong, the acting was perfect this season because it had smart new writers, producers and directors making dynasty work. Something it hadn't been doing since Season 2. It had become a sorry mess in Season 3-8 through stupid storylines.
Everyone's acting is ten times better than ever during this season. I think everyone was being coached to downplay things; camp was being thrown over for quality. There was alot of mature writing during this year than ever before.

Monica's acting on Dynasty is ten times better than it was on The Colbys.
