I want to see Robs trade from 7/14 where he lost $300K on one trade, that would be far more educational than this, Ive heard the brokers shut down his account that day
@Giggidygiggidy12 Rob Hoffman.. lost 300K in one trade..? in 7/14...?? are you sure?? Really? Do you guys have any evidence.. even a screenshot of that happening..?
@dalesalsa I dont have any evidence but I had 3 people text me and email me the same day it happened and all of them confirmed the loss so take it for what you will or call their office and ask them directly see what they tell you, Infinity shut off his account that day and close out his position he was long 800 or so Russell contracts for loss of over $300 or $350K
This may not be a nice thing to say, but Rob had his blow up coming, and I feel he deserves every penny of his loss and much more. I just hope the trading community will wise up and realize that Rob mainly a marketing guy, and does not offer anything worth paying him for. He takes advantage of wannabe traders who are led to believe he can help them make money. Apparently, Rob began to buy his own phony image some type of superhuman trader. This is a very dangerous guy to follow! JMHO!
With any luck the first thing a trader will learn is what the Martingale Bet is, and then run away from it. Why these guys would promote this is beyond reason.
I was in the trading room since last year and I can assure you he lost more money in that trade then all the money he did last year and this year so far. The dude is a good scam artist playing the nice guy card. He hides his Martingale system with a lot of smoke and mirrors looking at different time frames and price action until you finally figure it out. He will keep averaging down exponentially no matter what if he has to and I knew he would blew up his big account sooner or later...

july 14 2011: "Hoffman blew up today. He had Martingale short about 852 TF contracts and was down about $250K when the system (He uses Infinity) locked the account and closed his position. Total loss about $312K as I guess the Infinity system closed him out with a market order..
I think his ego got to him. There were many times during the 1 1/2 hours he was in the trade that he could have gotten out with a small loss..."
@sirzuke the internet buzz is building. the post you cite was the first i found. it seems accurate except for one word in the first paragraph. Hoffman was long, not short. Posts before "the event" are just as disdainful of Hoffman as those after. TTM's attempt at damage control is pretty feeble - they may regret ever bring hoffman on board.
That Fausto guy is no better at trading LvL II method is a joke looking for block orders etc dont wast your money
