  • “I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

    (Darth Vader)

  • fucking great,fuck this world,and the devil.

  • aw yeah :) im not scared of dyin and i dont really care... if theres peace found in dyin then let the time be near!

  • 'the heavy' cover is better

  • I came because "True Blood" said so.

  • @farinhaddd Me too , lol.

  • This doesn't sound anything like the one played in True blood ... was it some1 else who sang it?

  • @Unterschiedliche the song that actually plays in the show is a cover from a band called "The Heavy" =)

  • @aprilcullen Now that makes more sense! Thanks.

  • Fantastic song....

  • This song is going to be played at my funeral along with the song "Spirit in the Sky"

  • This guy ain't got shit on David Clayton Thomas.

  • @mcoope15 And neither of them have anything on Laura Nyro who wrote and did the original version of this song! I, as most, like BST's version best.

  • have you ever seen jerry fisher live? you would probably disagree with ur comment if you have

  • Good Monday moring music to get the blood flowing

  • The time with Jerry Fisher was a great time musically for BS&T, but too many people connected them with David Clayton-Thomas, which was unfortunate. "New Blood" and "No Sweat" are both great albums, but this is essentially a rework of the DC-T vesion's arrangement

  • if the singer was black the lyric would be "an when die i they beez 50 chillun to carries on"

  • The lyrics of this song is what the late 60's and 70's were all about

  • I agree with jogga, this is not the jazz BST sound i knew. this is straight up and down, sounds like country not BST i know. Yeah, David Clayton Thomas made the sound in the late 60's early 70;s that i knew.

  • This is what I want playing at my memorial jazzy party happy just let me go NATURALLY!! Oh Yeah!!

  • This guy has no balls, stick with Dave.

  • I know a spanish fella who is fucken wild for this crazy cat. Shave the sides of your hair ranga....leave it long at the back. Archie wannabe

  • He is SWEARING THER/Ain'T NO / HEAVEN ! , BUT PRAY ! ! ! ThrAin't NO - HELL ---Don/ WanaGo By Demon, JUST WANA GO ---- Naturally ! GREAT LYRICS ! ! !

  • It's one child born to carry on.Which means one child in the world.Hey, person complaining about the over population of the world.why doesn't someone get rid of you, and help the over population?????

  • flutter-city

  • Jesus Christ what a great version!

  • I like this version better then D.C. Thomas.

  • This is crazy good!!!

  • I played this at my wedding reception; it raised some eye brows. I thought it was appropriate. I've been married two times since then. Keep on trucking.

  • The dude playing the harmonica is awesome! To me, this was the best part. The horns weren't too bad and the bluesy singer. I like this song, have for over 30 years.

deegq is probably correct. More like 4 more born to carry on and populate an already over populated world. Thanks for the video whatiship73.

  • Oh crap...I thought a Black guy sang this song!

  • @tinytoes409 LOL...Too funny.

  • @tinytoes409

until today, I thought that about the song SPINNING WHEELS...

I remember singing it as a child after i got my new bike !!!

oh well, the memory was just as nice.

  • It's Harry Knowles!

  • Wow this guy has NO personality compared to David Clayton Thomas. I am so glad David Clayton Thomas is still alive. I am going to have to make sure I see him in concert. This guy is terrible.

  • This singer can't hold a candle to David Clayton- Thomas. This version of BS&T didn't last long and I hear why.

  • My father loved this. He died 5 years ago.But this was his favorite:)

  • harry knowles?

  • this guy isn't bad, but I'll take the original singer over him any day.

  • I like these guys. BST is one of my favorite groups. I am more used to the original version, but this version is good, too. (I guess good good music can't be made bad.)

  • Pretty much used to hearing David Clayton - Thomas sing this, but he performs it well anyway.

  • kick ass horn section. they along with tower of power and chicago had very tight horn sections.

  • Jerry came to Portland, Oregon for our uncles' funeral. I have lost track of him since Katrina. I also moved the same year. If any one can help me with his address, please do so. Culver, Oregon

  • Jerry came to Portland, Oregon for our uncles' funeral. I have lost track of him since Katrina. I also moved the same year. If any one can help me with his address, please do so.

  • "Now troubles are many, they're as deep as a well. I swear there ain't no heaven and I pray there ain't no hell."

    Life to a T

  • GoD I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!! Where did you find this jewel? Thanks for posting!!!

  • No where as good as when David Clayton Thomas sang lead

  • what ever happened to music like that, blown away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love the harp....YOU ROCK...... Got a E harp and this song just played itself...had heard it from the Big Chill Album....This harp player is awesome... Cheers..

  • Jerry Fisher is very talented, capable, and entertaining. BS and T should have done what the Beatles did when Paul was killed and had to leave the group. They should have had Jerry cut his hair and dress like Clayton, and tell everyone he's really Clayton. That way people would have like Fisher more.

  • While I do like the singer's voice I prefer hearing David Clayton Thomas doing this song, musically this song is still great

  • It sounds even better than the studio version. One of the better examples of a live recording. They weren't always this good in the seventies.

  • no way this is great BS&T for real

  • WHOOOO LOVE this song! yeh!

  • 名曲だぁね☆

  • @NTC335 exactly !!

  • Saw David clayton in 1979 in Connecticut. Shook his hand, tried to talk to him, what an attitude he had.

  • @timandrew1 All right, you have our attention. What sort of attitude? I've heard his return to BS&T in 1975 caused a lot of personal issues within the group and led to quite a few departures.

  • right on dude without david clayton thomas it 's a drag

  • i want to make a hip-hop sample from this song. amazing.

  • Without David Clayton Thomas, it just doesn't get it for me.

  • There's another concert video of this song with an extended jazz tuba solo!

  • saw them at the waldorf astoria NYC in 1972 and blue note 1990. they are right on.

  • Do they still have red velvet cake on their menu?

  • waldorf or blue note?

  • The Waldorf..Happy New Year

  • When I will die .... as time goes on I will be forgotten ..... and thrown in the trash bucket of history.

  • just like all of us worker ants.....

  • His best Joe Cocker impression at 5:18

  • hallo bin neu hier wer will mit mir chattn

  • You have a lot of subscribers for someone who is new and just wants to chat :P

  • Im only 18... but I know that THIS is REAL artists. Wow.

  • This is the song I told my family to play at my funeral-except my 'One Child Born"is now "Four"

  • Comment removed

  • @deegq Good choice. Bruce Lee also requested this song for his funeral and it was played.

  • @deegq My father wants me to make sure this is played at his funeral as well. haha

  • Blood, Sweat and Tears - indeed!

  • i love the clumsy shambling genius that was Blood Sweat and Tears. No one could attempt to pull that off now. Blood Sweat and Tears often JUST walked the right side of the 'shambling' line at times; occasionally crossing over onto the wrong side, lol---but anyone else trying that level of sophistication with all that brass n everything in harmony'd make a right dog's dinner of it

  • you should check out the Wings of Fire Orchestra.

they're an absolutely genius horn/rock band that brings musicianship and sophistication back into good music

  • Amazing sound. Why can't 2days artists play like that?

  • I love this song. Make me smile :))

  • HAhah i have their martin acoustic my dad knew the manager and bought the guitar for $500 considering the same modle is $2300 It's really old and the pic guard fell off.

  • Jerry is a really good singer, I love the music but Thomas was a rude SOB when we met him...the new Blood, Sweat and Tears singer is fabulous and really nice....

  • W/out DCT its just NOT BST

  • Indeed, it's like a Ronco remake record.

Don't be sad, Jerry fans - he has a fine voice, but DCT has a very UNIQUE voice (sounds like a trumpet to me!) that can't really be substituted for.

  • i think i had that shirt when i was in high school !! 72-76 sometime in there...

  • jerry is no david clayton thomas

  • Agreed.

  • Too Bad.

  • just play this at my funeral, that's all I ask.

  • Mine, too,please.

  • might be the only tuba in a rock group.....correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Supertramp:)

  • nice one

  • I think it gave them a unique sound.

  • No DCT by any stretch, but decent. Does not have the soulfuness sound to his voice like DCT.

  • COOL!!!!!

  • oh a great song and great message by a great group; great!!!

  • great performance...good band and good songs they have...awesome music this is...thanks for post.

  • That's exactly, what I think, too! :-)

  • song was so scarey when I was 9

  • LOL...OMG! I thought I was the only one...I'm still scared of this song! What a great time for music...Blood Sweat & Tears OWNED!!! Unbelievable band..real music. What happened?

  • Is that Chevy Chase on harmonica?

  • Comment removed

  • No he's not DCT but he is very very good

  • Cool. I've never heard this cat singing. He's great. Real soulfull. I like him alot. The other guys OK but this cat sings it man.

  • i love the fact you use the word cat, I do it to and he a freakn greeeeat singer!

  • I think its Dr. Zeus singing lead in this video. . .monkeys are awesome!!

  • Hellppppp! I need oxygen!!!!!! This jam session is toooooooooo hot!

  • This guy is good, but he is not a David Clayton Thomas! DCT voice is much richer in tone! DCT will always be the voice for BST!

Saw DCT in concert about 10 yrs or so. He was awesome!

  • I must concur, I grew up a metalhead but DCT was a BIG part of getting me to enjoy earlier things like this big brass section rock band sound and even back to Motown ... Linda Ronstatd is another and I can even appreciate some country because of her

  • I agree with StuEppy. this guy doesn't hold a candle to DCT!!!! DCT's voice was so distinctive. This guy is a dimestore lead singer.

  • thats a bit harsh

  • AMEN my friend,AMEN

  • You cannot compare this guy to DCT. DCT is so much more distinctive, so much better!! This guys is very common.

  • DCT is so much more.....

Main stream and ordinary everyday pop singer.

  • Actually, Jerry Fisher was a very good singer. He just doesn't fit well into a song that we're used to hearing David Clayton-Thomas do. I used to hear him often at his club in Bay St. Louis, called Dock of the Bay--blown away by Hurricane Katrina. Very good shows.

  • I'm sorry!

I have no idea why my reply appeared twice. That was not attempted. I swear... By my much hated affinity brother or whatever the correct term i is.

    Nuff said I think.

  • So badass.

  • They are BOTH damn good singers and I wouldnt want to be the one to say which is better. They sound a LOT a like. In any case I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!! Did I say I LOVE IT

    ????

  • Harmonica solo = gangster

  • DCT is great but so is this guy! Jerry has more of a southern sound to his voice.

  • holy crap

  • Tacka vet ja Blood Sweat & Tears - 16 blåsare utan hjärna!:)

  • i had a cd of bwt with dct on vocals but i would rather reminisce the good ole days with jerry on vocals

  • is the version of Jerry Fisher You made me so very happy the original? I saw him sing that song during the in concerts session when i was in hs.

  • No. That was recorded in 1968. Jerry didn't take over vocals until 1972. Jerry was the shit! Coolest dude ever. I love DCT, no doubt. But Jerry simply had more soul in his left arm than DCT had altogether. Those who hear Jerry's vocals and don't like them probably wouldn't like DCT live either. Take a listen to a few live vids with DCT. Nothing ever sounds like a studio cut. If that's all you like, then stick with your radio and stay away from YouTube.

  • This is strange...DCT tribute band? Still great music, great singing...nothing against the transplant vocals, but......ahemmm. Davis Clayton Thomas is the "ONE"...the "NEO".

I am 42 years old and yearn for originality like I listened to as a kid. I am a music teacher, guitarist & trumpeter. Today's music is too unnatural and manipulated. I miss these guys. Thank you for the good music!

  • yesssssssssssss

  • somebody KICK the ass of the lead singer..i followed bst from 1969...and nobody..no body did better than d. clayton thomas!! thank you canada for sending him our way..we`re not worthy we`re not worthy,,lol

  • Now -this- is what I'm talking about! This was the good old days, when having a tuba in a band was acceptable. I miss it. Thanks for adding this!

  • hi, great old videos

  • holy shit lew soloff just ccame to my school to peform today!!!!!

  • Owl*** its quite obvious that you have "no ear"!!.. Really, its ALL about "chemistry" and the band members were "monsters" in their own right. David Clayton Thomas with his great pipes and a tight band.***Jerry Fischer had tremendous talent too....

  • i like this guys voice too, for me being an outsider they are both great, u just gotta treat them like another instrument and you will get there.. if u can... if u want to that is......

  • lou marini - what a dude

  • he IS a dude, yeah.

  • Yawn. That guy will never replace David Clayton-Thomas. It was the voice that made the records hits, not the band. This sounds no better and no worse than any cover band out there.

  • Jeryy Fisher was never bound to replace DCT. You cannot replace anyone.

In my opinion he was a very good singer. The albums BS&T made with him are underestimated, I loved them.

  • I agree completely. Their style differs but they are both excellent singers. I personally prefer the Thomas guy singing this song but I couldn't even imagine anyone else than Jerry singing Rosemary.

    They are simply different.

  • If anyone has a problem..

..with Fisher's vocals in this clip, it's 'cause they're just used to Clayton-Thomas's version and won't make room for anything different. Bands go through personal changes and that's that. BS&T, much like The Tower Of Power, are great examples of that fact. It's SUPPOSED to be about the music! I'm a HUGE fan of David Clayton-Thomas. But this is a great band performing a great version of a great song with a great singer...

    'Nuff said!...

    "Peace And Luv."...

    Dennis...

  • Not great quality but it's sooo nice the hear the Jerry Fisher edition. Clayton-Thomas just felt he was too big for the band, and Jerry Fisher was a great vocalist. I got to see this version of BS&T in 73 in Puyallup, Wa., but the 1970 lineup is still my favorite. Their opening w/More & More made my first ever "fatal" hangover immediately vanish! Thanks for posting this

  • This is my favorite edition of BS&T. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • is'n't this the song they used for the jack fm comm??

  • Thanks wih73! Great to see New Blood line-up live! And hansderradfahrer: yes, Fisher's vocals on So Long Dixie are just beautiful. I saw BST with Fisher and Jerry LaCroix as co-lead vocalists in 1974 and that was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. I still listen to the radio tape of that concert quite often.

  • if you had ever heard jerry fisher sing "so long dixie" you would'nt call for anyone else as a real vocal guy!

    greets

  • whos that ???

where is david clayton thomas ???????

yae, i know the story of the band, so excuse-me, gime some real vocal guy.....

    from brasil,

    pajé

  • wow i never seen this i thought i saw it all
