In a way, you can say that the mute character is an inner version of Long Ma. His character is a reflection of Long Ma's heart, in a way. He's the way that Long Ma expresses how he feels to the viewers, which he can't do normally because of his stubborn and 'closed' personality. It's amazing that he can play so well though, he was just a ball boy taking care of the court, and now...

No, but he forgot his self-cofidence. That's just as bad. And sorry for answering so late. ^^ In the anime, he once has the same problem and Akutsu helps him. When he loses his confidence, he equally loses concentration and then confidence and then, and then... it's just one big vicious circle. Maybe the mute guy isn't as good. Maybe it's just that Ryoma's so bad right now. And i like the comment bout the guy being Ryomas heart. Read it some time. Could make sense. ^^

@Andygt33 You ever notice how all the matchs in Prince of Tennis even versus the teams they were predestined to pwn, those that weren't even worth showing, well those were the teams hat they won matchs like 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.

But anyway, it's not like any of you could beat them. I bet even without all the special abilities they started playing tennis for the show for teqnique and since they been doing it so much. I bet even the actors are better than all you here. And yet you call him weak.

I mean, from my experience in tennis, I would say those were real, but if they learned tennis mainly for this show, I doubt in only a few months they could get their serves in the 90's.
