It's funny, I DID get into EDM through Blaqk Audio. I can't say much for their taste (BT? Tiesto? Intervention needed...) but EDM has given me an incredible new family of friends and a world of amazing memories I will be forever thankful for. I wish they would have played clubs and I hold out hope they'll play Beta on a future tour, but their taste in opener DJs was atrocious on the Cex tour, at least in Denver.

if you look back at theyre classic stuff (very proud of ya, answer that and stay fashionable) theyve went from rockish, fast rock to emoish kinda stuff

Haha, you're repeating the same thing people have been saying since STS. People act like because they're not a hardcore band anymore and they're starting to develop a more melodic sound that they lost their fire. No, you're an idiot. They've MATURED and have furthered their sound. That's what happened. They grew up. Artists that are bold enough to do what they want with their music are far better than artists who are good but do the same thing over and over, which is what you want AFI to be.
