Sure he could get hurt but this is not his first squat and everytime you go for the heavy weights theres a possibility for getting hurt. To me this is hardcore! Awesome!.
You can blow you knee out or get hurt doing almost anything. Add weight to the equation and it just makes it more likely. Good technique and strength lessens you chance of injuries.
