Home made cajon with on / off adjustable snare

@azariaslns No worries! Good luck building your own. The only thing I would try if I was doing it again is to have the snare wires a bit shorter. I have to fiddle with the adjustment to minimise slight buzzing from the snare when playing the bass part of the drum. In mine they are about 12cm long. It would be interesting to see whether some shorter snare wires would minimise that buzzing...

I was just curious how you made the upper snare part?  What are the "T's"? Is it correct that you want it flush at the corner with a gap and then flush again at the base of the triangle? Nice work!

@Elegidopordios1: The "triangular" pieces on the drum body are made from the 4mm ply, at about 50mm x50mm* (actually mine are a little more like 50mm x 60mm cos I made an error with a measurement!). It is recessed into the upper corners of the drum: I recessed it about 9mm. Make a matching triangular piece to attach to the top corners of the INSIDE of the drum face. When the drum face is in place, you really only want about a 1mm gap between the two triangle pieces.

@Elegidopordios1: cont... The "T" you can see on the triangular pieces is because I sanded out some small semi-circle sections on top and side of both matching triangle pieces. This seems to help make the sound better - a little louder and clearer. Got this idea from a commercially available cajon I saw at a music shop.

Thats awesome! =D I'm glad you were able to use my design and add your own flare to it! Two thumbs up on the felt and loose corners! I've always planned on putting a damper behind the snares, even a stretchy cord for that matter, just haven't gotten around to it. Again, great job!
