  • You're so cute! :)

  • Your dreads are super cute! I love them :D

  • i use wen and for me that seems to work amazingly awesome and yeah it can "seem" expensive but it's the same amount of money as shampoo and conditioner and anything you would normally add to your hair after a wash and you don't need all those other add in products so really all in all it's not "that bad" of a price so yeah does anyone else have a thought to add about wen

  • I've been 'poo-less for over a year. I love the dreads. You look totally primal. :)

  • Hello, I'm a male and have medium/short hair and whenever I get up in the morning my hair just looks ridiculous! and I obviously can't make pony tails so I take a shower every morning. I was just wondering if it would be okay to wash my hair every morning without it getting too greasy. I've also read people washing their hiar with shea butter and avocado which seems to work.

  • I'm a guy with long hair, it's not in amazing condition but im going to try this. Fingers crossed!

  • they is lying about the smell Tracey!!! btw i started the no poo because of this vid, and i started Feb 1 so yeah. :D hahaha just kidding about your freinds xD

  • so you didn't wash your hair for a month? do you mean you don't even water wash it??

should i wash it after i exercise and had all those sweats?

  • I agree with that harsh chemical thing with acne. When I use acne wash products which have the harsh "acne fighting" ingredient, they burn my face and my acne worsens. When I use just a sensitive skin wash, not designed for acne, I usually have very few pimples (excluding the monthly blessing that causes some).

  • whenever i use shampoo and then dry my hair it gets all puffy and i hate it. If i stop using shampoo well my hair stop puffing up or is there no way around it?

  • @OneTypeBeatz I don't know!

  • Dear Tracy,

I have a weird have type. Its between Wavey and fine, and it gets greasy after a day of washing, so i have to wash every night! And after watching this, i wanna know [as soon as i can >.<] if i should go no poo or not?

    Please let me know soon!

  • @TheShadowPrincesss Yes, it sounds like you are a perfect candidate for no shampoo! Especially if it gets greasy after one day!

  • @thelovevitamin Just wondering, how much baking soda should i use? Im planning to do it today if i can

  • @TheShadowPrincesss hmm .. like a tablespoon... put it in a cup, mix it with water and pour it over your head! Afterwards, put about a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup, mix with water, and pour that over your head, rinse and you're good!

  • @thelovevitamin Im sorry i keep replying but, I dont have apple cider vinegar. Is it ok if i use the baking soda then conditioner? or is that no good?

  • @TheShadowPrincesss Yep it should be fine for now, although ideally you want to move away from the chemicals. But if that's all you have for now then just use that!

  • DIRTY PIGS!

  • Nice locks

  • i love her teeth like avril lavigne

  • her eyes are so blue its bleeding into the white

  • what a cute little philthy girl. i wouldnt wash my anything if she was my girlfriend and she told me not to.

  • hey :) love your channel, i was just wondering I have dreadlocks and i usually wash them with soap but its really annoying because their really long and take ages to dry but I want clean hair :L I dont really like useing soap on them because its hard to wash out, what would you reccomend? xxx

  • @Gee0Gee0lemons Hi there! It's a really bad idea to wash your dreadlocks with soap or anything that leaves a residue (which is almost all products), because the residues get trapped and make it more likely to get mouldy/smelly. I've started using baking soda (mix some with water in a cup and pour it over your head), and then afterward a dash of apple cider vinegar (again mixed with water in a cup). It works really well and no residue!

  • @thelovevitamin Thank you so much :) Ill definatly try that out :D xx

  • I hear not washing your hair causes memory laps - LOL!

I often rinse and clean my hair with "natural products" (not set on a particular one and it takes months to eval them), but I actually wash my hair when I shower 1-2 times a week and it looks and feels great! The best part of not using store shelf shampoos is that it makes the big corps profits drop that much more ;)

I've found skin problems are more related to internal health issues (chemical imbalance, toxic corporate crap) than external.

  • I have been shampoo free for 10 months my hair is the best it has ever been Amazing listen to the girl.

  • Hey Tracy,

A friend of mine never washes his hair and his hair is disgusting. I absolutely stinks and he has dandruff. Won't that happen to me if I go no shampoo?

  • @TheTorch05 Use baking soda and apple cider vinegar... you won't regret it! I don't know what's wrong with your friend's head, but he probably doesn't use anything... does he have bad body odour too?

  • I'm going to stop using shampoo because the girl with the pretty eyes told me to.

  • @mammoo93 hahah your comment made me laugh... let me know how your hair turns out!

  • You remind me of Avril Lavigne :)

  • @thatgirlkelly1 hehe I get that a lot

  • I've not been using shampoo for a week now and it's awesome :)

  • Is there a post where you showed what his( your boyfriend) hair looked like after the "no shampoo" adjustment period? I'm interested to see how it turned out!

  • I get dandriff..What do I do in that case? I feel gross if I dont wash my hair..Isn't it ok to just use an all natural shampoo/conditioner from a health food store?

  • @katarinagiselle Have you ever considered you might get dandruff because of your shampoo?

  • @thelovevitamin no because Ionly get it if it's been awhile since i've stopped washing. I have attempted to go months without washing, and it just doesn't work for me.

  • Me again, just wondering if maybe you could one day do a tutorial on your dreads, how you tie them up, wear wraps etc? If not maybe just let us see your hair down : )

  • @rocco1alex haha yeah... I get asked to do dread videos/articles quite a bit so I think it's about time I get around to that!

  • @thelovevitamin YES! =)

  • @thelovevitamin, LOOKING forward to it : )

  • you are adorable! nice dreadies;)

  • Your eyes are like magic.

  • i shampoo everyday and my hair is strong shiny and grows out tAWESOME so i have no clue of what point you are trying to make and i don't conditioner my hair every day probably 1 every 2 weeks sooooo everyone hair is different so i wouldn't recommend it be a god thing

  • @BabyBlond306 That's great that your hair likes shampoo, but many people's doesn't! I also always advocate moving away from things that contain a lot of chemicals anyway because it can irritate the skin on your face, plus some of the chemicals get absorbed into your body.

  • soap and water works wonders.

    period.

  • what do you recommend if i have a SUPER oily scalp?? i've rinsed my hair with water before and no shampoo and my hair dried greasy...i didn't exactly like it so i washed it asap!

  • @2011gonzales Well, did you only try it once? Your hair is going to be greasy for a month or so because your head has to re-learn that it doesn't need to overproduce oil. That's the point of stopping the shampoo! However, I would recommend using baking soda... that's what my boyfriend uses and it works great.

  • @thelovevitamin yea i did try it only once lol i couldn't handle it..and waiting for a month i think i would die haha but i just used the baking soda this morning and i rly like it so far! :)) thanks for the advice!

  • @thelovevitamin That's true, It gets worse at first but will improve eventually... I started moving slowly from shampooing to cowashing and from cowashing to lemon+vinegar washing and now to water only washing (and lemon+vinegar once every 2 weeks or so) and my hair is fine. If I ever like the smell of a shampoo and wanna try it I will dilute it a lot and AVOID the scalp and rinse it quickly. I shampooed my scalp once and was terrible!! I got dandruff back :S so NO poo4EVER!!

  • @2011gonzales try using a conditioner to wash your hair it's called "co-washing" that way you're putting something in your hair that the dirt and oil on your scalp will get into if you massage it into your scalp and then you just rinse it out. I know people who only ever use conditioner.

  • @heidishoshana the thing is, i can't use conditoner. i stopped about 4-5 years ago b/c i realized that it's what made my upper back breakout SUPER bad...like it was disgusting! my sister told me it was conditioner, so i tested that by not using it for 1 month, and i cleared up a TON! so i can't use it :( but thanks for the advice anyways lol

  • @2011gonzales maybe you just aren't using a good conditioner? if you are using something with silicones it will be very hard to rinse out of your hair and even harder to rinse it off your skin. Try using something completely natural like the Shea Moisture line (it's at some drugstores now like Walgreen's) and wash your body after you wash your hair.

  • could you use olive oil, or coconut oil?

  • do you wash your face with anything or just water?

  • @flowerkisscandy5 yep with manuka honey

  • I saw a guy cut off a woman's dreadlocks on the show, What Not To Wear, and it was awful. There were things trapped inside those stalks that was frightening!

  • your eyes are ridiculously blue.

  • I dont shampoo my hair anymore havent for three months and my hair has never looked or felt better. Now I do what they call co wash or wash with conditioner instead of shampoo. I am going to try the baking soda and vinegar next. The only thing I wonder about not washing your hair at all or with just water or going a month or even a week without washing is that you will pick up environmental smells in your hair like greese smell or smoke.

  • @My2girlsknh Yeah, you're right... I never really thought about environmental smells and pollution and stuff. Well, my boyfriend washes his hair with baking soda now and it looks really good!

  • i've not used shampoo and conditioner in about 6 months. my hair has never been healthier.

  • do you have a video of you without a hat? So we can see what all of your hair looks like?

  • @godsfiddler haha nope. well I always wear headbands in all the other ones... but I never not wear the headband! It is the essence of my hairdo.

  • Casrellencat..some people can get by with just water. Others need a little boost. Love vitamin, do you hage a video about hair withou a hat?

  • @godsfiddler what do you mean? A video about hair without a hat?

  • The only think while watching your video, is your eyes are amazing... and then I thought that was weird and I read the comments and realized I wasn't alone.

  • Once you get over the greasy stage (drug-withdrawl for your hair) when i did have longer hair I noticed that your hair is more flowing and has more bouncy curls lol = sorry for the marketing jargon, but that's the best way i can describe it. Hippie it up blue eyes! Oh and maybe hard water and baking soda scrub is related...i had hard water.

  • Is your dad in jail? Did he steal the stars and put them in your eyes? LOL im so corny... nah but you are like totally stunning... :D

  • @TCsplintercellDA Well thank ya!

  • @TCsplintercellDA *snorts* Too funny!

  • Is the baking soda and apple vinegar idea the only way to keep your hair clean? Or ultimately, do you really only need water, like eatmoreraw is saying?

Plus what's the easiest regimen (possibly similar to washing your hair with shampoo) to wash your hair with baking soda and apple vinegar?

  • you are really cute :)

  • @guitarwhizzz thank ya :)

  • putting a little lavender oil and massaging it through the scalp makes the scalp itchyness no away:)

  • Im on the two week mark :) you are right on one thing .. My hair does feel greasy but I refuse to give in. I'm going to give it a month and if it is still greasy ill try the backing soda. Even though my hair is a bit greasy I've noticed my curls are much easier to manage.

  • @maenyn Well it's been at least three months since my boyfriend stopped washing his hair... and it never really got un-greasy (he was doing it hardcore, only water). He finally decided to use baking soda to wash it, and I must say... it looks excellent now - better than when he used regular shampoo. And when his hair used to get greasy in one day, it now takes at least 3 or 4 before he needs to wash his hair again. So I'd say it was successful!

  • You're super cute...and you have really pretty eyes!

  • @DizzyDetch Why thank you :)

  • I try not to wash my head as much and sometime it's itchy when I don't is that normal in the early stage? I have really short hair almost bald and I cut it every 2-3 weeks.

  • @ernesdee2o916 Yes I think it's normal as your scalp normalizes! I wouldn't worry. Try massaging it with your fingertips in the shower... not scratching, just massaging

  • Use a microfiber cloth to dry your hair after you wash. Cuts the drying time in half.

  • @Nerefurian Oh, really? I never thought about that.... kind of like a shamwow?

  • @thelovevitamin I suppose, honestly I've never actually used a shamwow before so I don't know the consistency of fabric. But I would think that it would be possible to use a shamwow. From what I hear they're really liquid absorbent.

  • I've not used shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, aftershave, suntan lotion or any other chemicals for the skin in years. I just shower in water. I've never been cleaner. A simple clean low fat diet and avoiding toxins in the environment is what really makes you clean from the inside out.

  • @eatmoreraw Totally agreed :)

  • @eatmoreraw The toothpaste thing would be hard for me.

  • @eatmoreraw no TOOTHPASTE? o_o

  • @abercrombiegal09

Toothpaste as sold in tubes and used by millions of people is very toxic. I'd rather not slowly absorb anything toxic if I can help it. It tastes totally disgusting too. Consuming a tube of it is likely to kill you. Stop using it for a couple of months and then one day try it out, your mouth will tell you if that stuff is good for you or not. My teeth and gums are better without it.

  • you're so cute and pretty :)

  • @dragonflyy5 Thank you my darling :)

  • I Accidentally Went A Few Days Without Using Shampoo And My Hair Was Nice, Shiny And Manageable. I Decided To Research "No Shampoo" And Found This Vid. I Will Definitely Try Going Longer And Maybe Lemon Juice If Must Wash. Thanks For The Info And Cute Smile :)

  • Iam from germany and dont understand all of your english, so i wanted to clear up.. So, you are just using water???? and theres another thing. I am curious, whats your job?? That would be interesting to know :D

  • @sprechendertoaster Hi! Yes, I just use water, although... I actually wash my hair like... every 6 weeks or so with some Dr. Bronner's soap. And as for my job, I work at a kayak rental shop, but i am studying to be a holistic nutritionist

  • I gave up conditioner...okay, I ran out of it about 2 months ago, & well being Raw has it's benefits, my hair is silky smooth! I am still working on the 'No Poo' I did notice today though that although my hair is 'greasy' the roots are NOT! They look clean & dry (not greasy) I think I will use lemon juice (squeezed) for a bit..

  • @RawChanneLife Cool, let me know how the lemon works!

  • thelovevitamin, I've been told it cuts the grease build up at first, & that you use it the same way you would use shampoo, scrub it in vigorously all over. & that it is good to use in area's where the water might have more calcium. I wonder though about the chlorine.

How long have you been No poo?

  • @RawChanneLife Well... it was a slow progression of just letting my hair washing slide longer and longer apart... now i wash my hair like... every two months or something... so I really know :/ but... the slide has been going on for a couple years now!

  • this is true, it works; haven't used traditional shampoo for at least one and a half year, no dreads though.. just wash mine with water.

  • @TerminusIntroduction Is your hair more beautiful? Or the same just with less work and chemicals?

  • @thelovevitamin both :-) always hated how dry and fluffy my hair came out after using regular 'poo.... it happens that i use some natural stuff to clean it once in a while, like lemon or egg yolk or something; nice for a change.

  • your hot :)

  • @jamieresasco well, thanks!

  • i feel ya i dont wash my dreads i go like 2 months without washing them its a PAIN!

  • @1245mitch haha yes! it's a maaajor pain... so is your hair greasy because you don't wash them? or is it all good like mine?

  • @thelovevitamin nah they're not greasy see i have EXTREMELY soft silky hair and as soon as i wash them my roots are so soft and then they dont dread! and i just use regular bar soap...so i try not to wash them. they don't smell bad and they don't feel greasy or anything so yea

  • I love your dreads! What did you use specifically to wash them? :)

  • @vjnatty I used to wash them with a shampoo made for dreads which doesn't leave any residues that get trapped in the dreadlocks... but I noticed it had sodium laureth sulfate, so I've switched to Dr. Bronner's for when I do wash them

  • when i started using sulfate free shampoo my hair became alot more shiny and less frizzy and dry. :) i will skip a day without washing my hair but i don't think i could entirely go without washing.

  • I dont have dreads but i want healthier hair cause its so dry could i try going this long too?????

  • @StaceyNicolePaine Yep, I said in the video that normal haired people are not shampooing anymore and ending up with better hair :). Remember that your hair will be greasy in the first month though while it normalizes!

  • @thelovevitamin I'm very patient when it comes to hair as i'm growing out my natural hair colour, your video made me smile :) i started looking at even more video's cause it interested me so i went out and bought baking soda and apple cider vinger hoping i see a change, thank you so much

  • @StaceyNicolePaine Cool! I hope it all works out for you!! :)

  • LOL i laughed so hard when u said ill take pictures of his head or something, awesome.

  • looking good :] & nice vid, i plan to try soda/acv thing myself too. but hey, say what about hats? dont they grease your hair? idk but whenever i wear hat for like all day or oftenly n so, my scalp gets kinda itchy? and also greassy hair very soon, y so, any idea? :/

  • @MortieTheDoomed Haha sorry! I don't have any info on what hat wearing does to your head

  • @thelovevitamin but from your own experience? i see ur wearing hat lately and that bandage thingie earlier, so i wonder hows it for u?

  • @MortieTheDoomed They don't bother my head or make it greasy or itchy... but I don't wear tight hats. What kinds of hats do you wear? I imagine a tight ball cap or something might be a bit irritating

  • @thelovevitamin hm yea u probably right since i do wear cups at summer, but wool hats at winter doesnt do the greasy thing as much. but do u pay attention to like material hat is made of? like for example this hat ur wearing here, is that wool?

  • @MortieTheDoomed No, I don't pay attention. Maybe I should? Even though wool is natural, it does seem kind of itchy. It's kind of hard for me to say because my dreads kind of... insulate my head from my hat? I suppose you could say.

  • i love your dreads, mine are 3 months old now im doing the natural method, jus not brushing it and washing it with dr.bronners

  • Well this helped me out a great bit :D

I changed my diet and my acne did get much better but I was still getting very itchy scalp and my face was very itchy. Like 2 days ago I stopped using my face wash, and started using baking soda mixed with water to wash my face and body and voila, not itchy any more and my pimples went down. Just today I was worrying what I was going to do about shampoo haha.

  • @xxspiderlegs Cool! Be careful though... the reason people wash with baking soda and rinse with apple cider vinegar is because Baking soda is super alkaline, and our skin is naturally a bit acidic... ACV brings the PH back into balance after a baking soda wash. I don't know if that will affect your skin or not, but be careful with it.. or maybe just use diluted apple cider vinegar afterward on your face?

  • @thelovevitamin Yes yes thanks :)

  • That's true.

I use a sulfate free shampoo

  • nice dreads!

  • @pacman211 Thanks!
