@SanguineUltima Lol well... funny you should say... a couple of days ago I was diagnosed after 4scans, a blood test and months of delay and I have been told that its actually quite rare that epileptics are affected by light and I just so happen to be one of that small group so thanks for the tip.
@Dolphidood I always thought that was the main thing! Well I'm no medical student so shows what I know. Anyways glad my heads up was helpful. Honestly you're not missing much imo, it's a decent movie but I'd way rather watch something by Takashi Miike or Chan wook-park.
Why the hell do people enjoy movies like this. I don't get it? All it is (to me) is a bunch of garbage-looking metal or disgusting objects thrown at the characters and lots and lots of blood with a camera that is constantly shaking and moving. These types of movies just make me want to vomit. Its not even creative when you can't keep your eyes centered on the screen for more than 10 seconds because you don't want to starve of hunger from all the nauseating imagery this film portrays.
I remember the first time watching this, and I was blown away by it's weirdness and how well done it is for its time. Wow. Now when I look at it, Tetsuo The Iron Man is the Eraserhead of japan. :) I wonder if David Lynch is a fan of this movie....
@tifred51 I disagree with your comment, the music works, it does not need to reflect the gloomy atmosphere
the imagery speaks for itself. We do not need to be told everything. The piece of music juxtaposes well with the frantic nature of the film, industrial music would be too obvious. btw have you seen a clockwork orange ?
@barrydeez I disagree with your comment about Japs and the US I went to see Battle royale not long a go and left the cinema thinking if only the US would do a remake, i'll probably get crucified for saying that on here but thats my opinion, the film truly sucked when it had so much potential. I do love Tetsuo though, although I found it a little tedious towards the end
@electricEntity81 the film is about a unity, just not the unity and brotherhood of all mankind! Freude, schöner Götterfunken=Praise to Joy. The main theme of TTBH is anxiety, anxiety leading to fixation without cure. Hence the anti-American sentiment presented by the Frankenstein abomination at the end. Two men in constant coitus in the form of the Statue of Liberty.
My friend got through 45 minutes of this movie before shitting himself in fear and confusion.

The legal disclaimer should warn epileptics as well; the camera/lighting is probably quite likely to cause seizure.

Serious question: Are you a film editor?
Because it looks like "Akira" directed by David Lynch with the trailer edited by Mr. Stanley Kubrick.
In other words: Fucking SICK, man!
