Lol.. My brother walked into the room right before I was going to show him the video, ( cause he had a 1967) and he looked at the video about a second before you crashed and said" look out for that barrier" and then WHAM! you nailed it. lol. He said" guess he didn't hear me and walked out. I just started laughing. I made him watch it again because I said you were a good driver. So he did. And afterwards he said. " yeah he is, bad luck there, just a little off line" (I had to have explain that
@barbergreg Yeah, all driver error there. Learned a valuable lesson, I was a few feet off line at the center of the chicane and could not get the car around to clear the second tire barrier. I had two choices, get sideways and clip the tires or nose in. I chose the latter. Fortunately Datsun Roadsters are pretty tough and the car was easily repaired....In retorspect I was having brake issues, and had decided to slow down, this put me out of rhythm, and I was going too fast through the chicane.
Thanks for posting this video! Glad to read you and your ride are fine. Such an unfortunate end to an otherwise excellent and exciting drive. You are living the dream, good for you.
The car is back together, still a few here's and theres to be done. My alternator died for some reason. Anyway, we will be back out on the track soon and that means more video. Hopefully they will not end in such a dramatic style.
Thanx for posting that video, Ithought oyu lookedrather exposed sittingupthereat the start ofthe vid, thenforgot about it till the end, hopeyou are OK. I am interested in you telemitry, please excuse my spelling,on the video, time G's etc, what setup givesyou pictures like this?Thanx.
Now knowing the course, made it all the more fun to watch you racing. Really liked the lines you were taking through the curves, except for the last one obviously (ouch). So glad you and the car are essentially ok and around for another day. You are certainly living one of my dreams and it's always grest to see you take the car out and use it as it was intended.
Ron, I saw Les at W-S last weekend and he told me about your wreck...ouch. I always wondered what hitting those things would look like. Glad to see you're ok.
