I got a VX2000 today and I'm having a number of problems. The first is that when I connect my camera to my computer, so far, 90% of the time, my computer doesn't read the camera. Autoplay doesn't come up, it's just as if the camera isn't connected. I've put it on VCR and it is in fact connected but nothing happens. The other problem is that when I've actually managed to get it to connect properly, as soon as I press video> DV camera and VCR, Sony Video Capture 6.0 stops responding. any advice?

better try using pineacle to capture videos, Sony Vegas is not very compatible :S, but it's a better editor than pineacle

@XxDeViLBrInGeRxX Yeah you're right we use Pinnicle (AVID) to capture and broadcast our live comedy shows. I got a Sony FX7 with Vegas pro 10 and still have a hard time capturing video right now.

I did everything i have the Canon HV40 HDV Camcorder and i open vegas 9 click new set it to hd 1080 -24p and i tried hdv 1080 -24p and when i goto capture nethier of them detect the device i hav the firewire hooked up right because i was using my friends camera and thats what made me get this. so what do you thiink the problem could be?

I have just downloaded the vegas movie studio HD 9.0c and i can upload media fine. But when I drag it into the timeline and press play it says

"Windows Movie Studio HD has stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I don't know why this is happening, I have windows 7, and a HP laptop, if anyone can tell me why that would be great

i imported an mpeg4 movie file into my sony vegas program. it works great, but when i start to edit the video, the images glitch/skip over one another. my computer is more than capable to handle this but i cant figure out what i'm doing wrong. is there a specific setting i should have or should i import the movie as something such as a windows or quicktime? even when i render it, the scenes are all messed up, especially where i have them lapping over each other.

someone please help, when i render as in vegas 9 pro in HD, vegas always ends up saying that there is not enough system memory half way through the rendering, but i have 800GB left of HDD space, and 6 GB of ram, with a 1GB ATI radeon graphics card. also, after i have clicked cancel, the part of the video which has been rendered up to when it failed is only in 480p. what am I doing wrong?

most probably you have a large video and started editing a few hours after you turned on your pc

suggestions

save your project as 720p 30fps, restart your pc and when loaded exit any backround programs.

render as soon as you done that and hope it works

if not

then try using a pc optimizer tool to speed up your pc

(i have a few tutorials on how to get them free!)

if all else fails then ask the creator of this video

you go import media and click the song that you want then click open...it should appear in project media...then just drag it down to where it's all blank at the bottom [where you'd put your videos]...but it more depends on your layout..
