Let's face it, you can't compare the Rascall Flatts version of this song to Tom Cochrane's version just because they're done in different styles. Tom's is more laid back; it's done in more of a 'traditional country' style. Rascall Flatts version is more of a countrified rock affair with the harmonica removed and the heavier focus on the guitars. They're both different versions of the same fantastic song and each has it's own merits. But, yes, I prefer Tom's.
Give the guy a break with the tabs B.S. He already devotes countless hours making these very helpful videos. Besides if you need tabs then your not even close to being there. Focus on developing your ear, it's the best tool there is for learning music.
@MyTwangyGuitar - Yeah, holy cow! Did all of these people forget that Chris LeDoux recorded this song too? Don't even get me started on thye "flat rascals" Sorry to that fans of them, they're great musicians - but they ain't country! Ok, where was I going with this? Oh yeah! Chris Ledoux's version is much better and/or equal to Tom Cochrane's. I don't care for the flat rascals version at all.
As usual, greazt job on the vidoes MyTwangyGuitar, you da man!!!!
Hey, this is amazing! Everyone who is a Rascall Flatts fan, Tom Cochrane is IT, alright? THIS is real guitar! THIS is the real deal! And MyTwangyGuitar has the REAL talent!
No Problem, The end is cool, father and son jam session ! my dad and I do the same, Btw, I have checked out your sons work...Hes very talented, Especially with no lessons, thats crazy !
Came back to say Thanks, for crediting Tom Cochrane with his hit song! After I saw this video, I looked around youtube and saw everyone crediting other artists like Rascal Flatts for this song.
Tom really should get his due... great song!
And now that we have wifi at work... I can sneak a few moments to practice with your videos. I'm hoping that in another 10 years or so.. when I'm in the "Retirement Home", I can be a big STAR for all the residents. At least until they take my amp away! LOL
I enjoy watching your picking hand as it waits for the next entry... you keep interesting time.
Thanks for sharing the video of you and your son... too cool! I recently fixed up a broken old bass for my teen daughter and we've played just a tiny bit so far... I'd love to just really jam with her some day.
Just by chance I found your channel again last night. I'm getting to go through all the vids I've missed the last few months. Really like this one.
My dad and I play together also. We don't play this rocking stuff though, which is what I like. He likes the gospel stuff so that's what we play together. We usually do a 12 bar blues thing and the Milk Cow blues. We enjoy it as I'm sure you guys do.
Anyway, loved the video. I got some catching up to do....
Watching you two play together was really cool to see, Sam. Nice to see your face too, even if it was tiny and sunglassed :) GREAT song by the way! On my "roadtrip" playlist and can't help but speed down the road when I hear it!
I appreciate your guitars and your videos. Nothing but first class. Is there anyway you could cover Evangeline by Los Lobos. I can't find tabs anywhere.
Just was able to check this out now, and I think this is so cool! Now its you AND Sam jamming! That Adobe EP sure is a neat program. You pick the best songs!
No, I have a bad way of writing. I mean that you can't hear the guitar that you're playing in the backgroundl song. By most covers on youtube you can hear the guitar the person is playing also on the background song what sometimes gives it a bad sound. (I Hope this is a little bit better explained, I am from the Netherlands so my English isn't that well).
I like the Orig,and Twangy's,and also Chris Ladeux,not to knock RF,but @55 I think they are more pop,less country

@Vanguard448 - I *can* compare the two versions and can tell you it's probably the worst cover of any song I've ever heard.
MyTwangyGuitar 1 year ago
@MyTwangyGuitar Fair enough. Again, I don't think it's too bad, but everyone's opinion is different.

Does anyone has a tab for the melody he is playing at 0:28 of the song? The rest of the song is good to see and learn.
Thanks for this great video.

Thanks, Andi. Any excuse to do something with Sammy is cool with me. Great kids and the moments I spend with my kids are the best.
I should have faded it out five second later, he grabs the amp and runs back to his room to play video games - ha.
